The part of the city controlled by the locals and the angelic host was ... in a very sorry state, to say the least. Ruins, rubble and wounded were everywhere. Now that you could get a closer look at it, you would be able to tell that practically everyone around was wounded to a degree - a slash here and there, an eye missing, a bandaged head or arm... It was horrible to watch. Despair reigned here, as if there were no hope at all.
The duo was holed into a half-ruined building which now acted as a hospital for those whose wounds were too severe and needed more urgent treatment. Unfortunately, here every second one needed it badly, so the place was cramped. Smell of blood, wounds, screams of pain and incomprehensible gibberish of those who were close to losing their minds from pain or horror... If there was hell, this place was pretty damn close to it. Demons had a habit of disfiguring their enemies greatly without killing them - that way they could suffer more...
Tylomon was there among the wounded. Despite his protests and claims that he could do without it, and demands to spare the medical stuff for someone who really needed it, he was forced to be treated, and now was restoring his strength - this struggle took much out of him. Even his wagonload of stamina and endurance was not infinite. The darcmon had to be around here somewhere too - she only received light bandaging, she managed to get out of that fight without much scars...

"Damn!"
The darcmon felt angry with both whoever organized that well made defensive perimeter and herself for failing to take into account the limits of Tylo, it was her fault once more he got some severe injuries and now had to lie quiet to have his wounds treated, she knew that the tylomon was the kind of digimon that couldn't stay quiet even if you wanted and it had to be really hard for him to remain immobile for longer periods of time.
"Tylo is a strong digimon, he will do fine without me. Now I have something else to do"
She looked around the hospital until she saw a gatomon nurse that was off-duty, resting after having spent most of the day nursing the injured angelic host. It was true that most of their troops were angels, but also they also had holy beast and digimon who evolved into angels like patamon, gatomon, nefertimon and gargoylemon between their ranks.
"Do you know where I can find the slash angemon that saved me and my partner? I also need to find an angewomon who once passed by Shadow Zone and was in good terms with Lord Myotis"

- Lord Myotis? Who is that? - the gatomon only glared at the darcmon that approached her during free time. As most people in the hospital, the feline nurse was kept in the dark about things, and she knew very little about anything going on outside her small circle. To her "lord Myotis" sounded like something revolving around war, like the Red Barin or something else like that. All she could guess was that it was some lord.
- And general Slashangemon saves somebody on a daily basis - half of the people here were at some point saved by him... I understand you wish to say thanks, but if he spared any time for all people whom he rescued, when he will have time to lead the troops and save us from impending doom of being tortured to death by evil demons nya? - the gatomon asked and smiled adorably, which contrasted so much with what grim and hopeless future she just predicted for herself and the others. And one could figure that was a stepford smile rather than a genuine one. In this place people never smiled, so the nurses had to give people at least some hope and act cheerful around...
- And the only angewomon we have around is our ambassador, she works around here now as a nurse and a surgeon also, she's gonna replace me for a little while while I take a wee nap. - the gatomon said and yawned, looking at the darcmon again. The poor feline's eyes were red, many blood vessels already popped from lack of rest, giving them such a color. - I didn't sleep in 72 hours... - she added apologetically, but then an adjacent door opened, and the small cat turned around to see who it was.
- Angie! Angie! There is somebody here who wants to see you! - the gatomon ran cheerfully towards the tall, white-clad winged woman in a nurse's clothes that just had entered. It seemed that even this dingy and gray place, devoid of all hope, got a bit brighter when the high angel went in. Indeed, even as just a nurse, she was still beautiful in her perfect whiteness, and several heavily-wounded soldiers smiled a bit when she came in. Indeed, she was like a beam of light in this sea of darkness and despair, bringing hope even to those who lost it. It was part the reason she worked here during the blockade - her mere influence probably saved more lives than all medicaments combined.
- You should go and rest sweetheart, you've been up helping people since forever. Do not worry, I will watch for the sick and wounded here... - the angewomon said mildly and patted the smaller cat digimon, which made her purr a bit in enjoyment for such a praise. After the cat digimon left, the high angel approached the darcmon, her face would have showed a bit of amazement, if it weren't for the mask.
- I thought our last Darcmon, Jane, went MIA a eek ago upon our attempt to break through the blockade... It is good to see some of you are still among us... But you don't look like you would need medical treatment. How can I help you? - the angewomon asked quizzically, obviously confusing Ciel for one of their own...

"I understand ..."
Of course it wasn't going to be that easy to have a meeting with the slash angemon, somebody of his rank was bound to be incredibly busy and to the rest of the angelic host, she was a just another digimon saved by him. Oh well, at least she had the possibility of talking with the angewomon whom the gatomon mentioned was her replacement and did a lot of hard work as nurse. Ciel remembered how an angewomon's saint air ability had power to ease the pain and slowly heal the injuries good hearted digimon nearby and assumed that and her talent as surgeon made of her the most a quite capable nurse. And there she was, the angewomon called "Angie" by the holy feline, wearing nurse clothes and smiling at the injured patients of the hospital
"Thank you for your help"
She thanked the gatomon who quickly left after being praised by the beautiful female angel and waited until the angewomon came near her. Apparently she mistook her for one of their troops and it was saddening to know that the darcmon killed by the swordwielding devimon was the last one in the celestial host, such was the fate of those angel digimon who were the ones more distant from the light.
"I meet Jane and she died valiantly fighting against a devimon who mastered the art of swordplay. I'm not from here but from a distant land far away from this one and I specifically came here to deliver a message from Lord Myotis, he wanted you to know that he missed your presence and you can count with him if you are in troubles"
She could understand why they were short in darcmons, her species always fought in the frontlines as close quarter troops and the lack of holy-based skills and long range attacks made them less competent than the rest against evil digimons. However, it was said that despite being so far from the light, darcmons were the bravest angels and she was sure that Jane and the other darcmons helped many to survive through their sacrifice.

- Jane ... is dead? Poor child, and she was so very young... - the angewomon seemed shocked at the news that the darkmon was, ultimately, dead. She hoped that this one managed to survive and escape somehow, yet deep in her heart she knew it must be true. - Each day we lose more and more of our brothers and sisters... and the enemy's forces seem to have no margin... - she sighed out. Such great losses were a blow to her, but she had to remain strong, if not for herself, then for those she tried so desperately to protect.
When the darcmon mentioned lord Myotismon, however, the angewomon had a very ... strange reaction. Though she was surely surprised to hear that Ciel had a letter for her, under that mask of surprise was a hint of ... fear. The angel digimon probably did not share the same compassion the vampire lord had for her, though she desperately tried to hide it. What was the reason for that, one might wonder?
- From lord Myotismon? And you went all this way, and even through the blockade just to deliver it to me? That's ... that sure is a lot of trouble for a simple letter... You met him? - the angewomon asked as she took the sealed letter from the darcmon's hands and oepened it, wishing to read what was written, though nobody would ever know how they read letters with their helmet things on. As she waited for the answer, she read the letter, her face showing a hint of shock, and starting blushing all of a sudden, but then she folded the letter and shook her head, as if showing disagreement. Whatever was written there sure got her startled...

"War is hell, some find glory in battle but all I find is pain"
And she was a living proof of that. She had lost so much due her war against parallelmon that if weren't because she met Tylo, she would've continued wandering the land alone, fighting even against good people who simply committed the mistake of being strong and good sparring targets. Neither Ciel nor the angewomon could hide from expert and experienced eyes the pain within them, who continued living on while everybody else died.
She handed lord Myotis's letter to the archangel digimon and quietly waited for her reaction, which was priceless. Obviously the letter was some sort of love letter or something equally embarrassing.
"Lord Myotis helped us when we were starving and without a place where to sleep, he also gave us information. For his gesture we promised to deliver this letter to you and he also paid us with supplies to travel through the badlands."
He was an interesting fella ... you don't see very often dark digimon with refined manners and that is actually polite and helpful instead of being a warmonger. To think he was in love with the angewomon ... that was so cute and amusing.
"Nevermind, now that we are over with the delivery service, I would like to offer mine and my companion's services to you, that could help us to find certain incredibly source of evil I was hunting for, his mere presence can disturb even a devimon"
Parallelmon was somewhere in this region, she knew it, and maybe those angels who were susceptible to the dark energies of evil digimon somehow noticed the spike in dark energy from when he appeared. If they knew anything about it that would be very helpful

- Ahem... Well that explains it. Indeed, Myotis can be a very likable and charming fellow, especially if you know nothing of him or his record... Unfortunately for me, I know. And I am at loss whether I should be really honored or really scared... Good grief, there's even poetry here... - the angewomon still was rather dazzled and confused, she must have never expected such a strong reaction. She was at his place only once for God's sake! And she did not even try to woo him... Hmm, maybe that's what caught him on a hook...
- No. That would not happen... Lord Myotis is a very, very dangerous man. Even if he is being sincere here ... I would not take this chance. I am an ambassador, and a servant of the holy light, after all. And stories of demons taking advantage of naive angel girls are not unheard of. Fortunately, I am not naive. - the angewomon smiled with a little bit of sadness, looking at the letter, and hid it within one of her invisible pockets. For memory, or to dump it somewhere later, who knows.
- And anyhow, I believe it is too early to even think about things like these... As for your question... I honestly do not know what great evil are you talking about... Maybe Blade will know more, he's our slashangemon, and our strongest warrior. He comes around here at least once per day, to visit his wounded soldiers... And I do not really know how you are going to help us here. You and your friend are strong no doubt, but we are facing armies here. I have no illusions when I say most of us, if not all, are going to die here. You should save yourself, try breaking out, like you did to get here... - the angewomon sighed out heavily. Indeed, she was a realist, and she knew this fight was lost. Maybe they have submitted themselves to the demon's mercy, which was a vain hope, if it weren't for said warrior of the holy blade...

"Personally I like to judge people from how they act now, not how they acted in the past, although I have to admit Lord Myotis is certainly enigmatic, care to tell me more about him?"
All this talk about Lord Myotis awakened her curiosity regarding the dark lord, she remembered seeing a "dark side" of him when he seriously talked about organizing his followers to destroy any possible challenger who were supported by the enigmatic power manipulating the wars in the digital world. Maybe he was hiding something behind that friendly exterior of his.
"Please, if you can arrange a meeting with Blade for me, it is of utmost importance for me to find that powerful source of evil and maybe he knows something about it. And no, I won't run away, this battle will be a test to know if I have improved and I still have some business with certain sword user Devimon, once I let my fellow angels to die and that won't be repeated again."
Partially it was her fault that the enemy defenses got so strong lately, she let that devimon escaped and surely told his superiors about the incoming duo, probably the devil's tactician thought many more troops would arrived and tripled ... no, quadrupled the security, so it was only fair for her to risk life and limb in this battle for those angels whom she wanted to save, thinking in how she utterly failed to save her angel clan back in her own world.

- I think I should start from the beginning, as in how exactly I encountered him. - the angewomon replied at the darcmon's request. She was no harm in telling the tale, especially since there wasn't anything that would put her in an unfavorable light, or in jeopardy. After all, it wasn't her fault the undead lord fell for her.
- Like I said, I am an emissary for our ... order, and am supposed to deal with important people on my superior's behalf. Several month ago, when we sought to come to these lands, we needed a passage through, and the only one was through the Dark Area. To request a passageway for an entire order, including not only peaceful workers, but also many a militant digimon was no easy task. In order to succeed, I requested some background info on the ruler I was supposed to deal with... - the angewomon made a pause, clearly pointing out that whatever she found was quite ... unusual, if not more. Enough to consider this ... somewhat eccentric, but a rather lovable vampire with such great caution.
- He managed to unify the Dark Area, who was in state of warring kingdoms, eliminated all of possible opposition, including their families, and built an army which is considered to be one of the strongest on the continent, it would have no trouble standing up to those we face now. A cunning and talented strategist, he is also known as one of the best fencers in the Dark Area, successfully ending life of at least ten assassins that were sent after him before the guards could arrive... He lives in a mansion with only a few servants, true... But those two, a devimon and a ladydevimon ... they are retired spec ops for the demon legion that besieged us now... Were considered one of the best, both awarded with "Meritorious Murder badge", and each is able if tearing apart several of our best angemon with their bare hands... - she said this much information in one breath, it was obvious she was both scared and impressed by such a list of achievements, but mostly scared. Such a person, in her opinion, could not be trusted.
- So I, after reading all this, got all nervous-like, expecting the worst, expecting lie in every word of his, yet I failed to hear even a hint of malcontent in his words during negotiations... He sounded perfectly honest, no matter how hard I tried to spot any sort of treachery. And his manners and behavior were peerless as always, his two servants acted like they never were highly deadly commandos who could kill me in a heartbeat. It was ... scary, to know who are you dealing with, and yet never see them showing even a hint of it. I was glad to leave that mansion... And I'd rather negotiate with a brutal warlord, from those you at least would know what to expect... - she sighed out. The angewomon was too deep into politics and scheming to even allow a thought through that the myotismon might have ben genuinely honest for real. Too simple of an explanation to be considered.
- And now this man sends me letters like these. I honestly don't know what to think... - she added, but noticed they went completely off-topic. This was a bit embarrassing, she just dumped a bucketload of her fears and experiences on the poor darcmon, she shouldn't have done that.
- But all this is of no consequence now, is it? We have to live this through somehow in order to ... well, deal with it. I will tell Blade about your wish, when he arrives... Wait ... you didn't say you let your fellow angels die, did you? - the angewomon sounded startled at the realization. Her face showed concern, and a mute question as to what happened...

"I never imagined something like that from Myotis and his butler and maid"
Seriously, spec ops? It was hard to believe the devimon and lady devimon were special agents of the demon corps with a very high body count between them, they seemed to be so used to life as butler and maid that no one would ever think they used to be merciless assassins. And Lord Myotis's feats were no lesser than theirs, his "improvised" self defense sword wasn't merely a self defense weapon, he could literally make magic with it and kill anyone who dared to try to menage his reigns, he was somebody better to have as friend than as foe that was sure.
"Yes, that's what I said. In the distant place which I came from I belonged to a clan of many angels, but when a powerful being known as parallelmon attack, I was completely unable to do anything to stop him, I simply lied defeated on the ground as he killed some and spared others to let them live with anguish and despair. For failing to protect them, I want to prevent a similar tragedy from happening to this other group of angels. That will not bring back the dead but it will make me feel better knowing that I helped to prevent the death of more angels"
How they call it? Oh yes, the second greatest chance, this was Ciel's opportunity to atone for her failure and redeem herself a little for falling from grace, and if the slash angemon didn't die this time it would be glorious; otherwise it could become a cruel joke like the one of certain lion digimon if slash angemons were to die every time they appeared
