"Finally somebody who can give me real clues. Black omnimon ..."
She wasn't even trying to get information about the situation this time and yet she finally obtained the most important of all: the identity of the real enemy. Sadly in her own world omnimons were extinct digimon of legends and in all and in other universes she failed to see one, but their power was legendary and was considered the ultimate virus buster. Alas, this one fell from grace and now was a virus type black omnimon, corrupted by evil and the complete opposite of what an omnimon should be. If those armies belonged to him, them he was the enemy she had to defeat to prove that she was ready to face parallelmon in real combat, no matter how legendary were black omnimon's might, he couldn't be as powerful as the nigh invincible parallelmon.
"Indeed, he died in honorable combat not for lack of tactics but slain by the enemy's overwhelming abilities and treacherous tricks. My clan was destroyed against such powerful enemy as well and even if you wanted, you could never find that place away from the reach of normal digimon like you. As for your plan, rocks can be easily acquired in this region and I'm proud of my partner's talents, he proved to be a great pupil for me and it is a master's desire to see their students to surpass them."
If she lost her head everytime somebody insulted her mentor, she would've cracked a few skulls already; nothing other than parallelmon and extreme cruelty similar to his could make this darcmon lose her calm mind so he simply shrugged off like nothing his attempts at provoking her. And his stalling games would eventually be proved to be useless, if there was something that abounded in the badlands were precisely large stones easily excavated by the strong and diligent goblimons, as much he bought to the rest of the angels a brief time of peace.
Exactly as she said, she was proud of Tylomon's superb performance and it wasn't insulting at all for somebody to recognize him as more useful than Ciel in combat, after all she helped him to realize the true potential of his abilities and he was tailor made for war while a darcmon as much could aspire to be part of the vanguard's infantry troops, clashing in direct combat with single opponents.
Soon the slash angemon and some of his angemon subordinates left, leaving Ciel alone with another angemon.
"No apologies needed, I used to be part of a militia and I know how the stress of constant days of war can make even the greatest leaders lose their heads."

- Indeed. It is advisable, however, not to talk to him about anything involving his strategy. Blade only listens to words of those few who are aware of everything that is needed to be known about the current situation. Knowing little to nothing about anything and offering obvious solutions ticks him off. After all, if they are obvious to us, they're obvious to the enemy... And the enemy is no fool, oh no... - the angemon replied as they fled the battlefield, back to the city. He sounded reasonable and resolute, voice showing complete calmness and confidence a proper angel should have. And indeed, this one was quite an example of it.
- My name is Uriel, I am general Blade's counselor. I'm afraid that between your most heated discussion neither were introduced properly. What is yours? - the angel asked mildly. He was indeed a counselor, one of the few the fiery angel general actually listened to. Once a position of power and influence, now it was not that important, since the order was reduced to a handful of remnants, but the trust still remained.
- I believe you tried to discuss something with the general, but it did not go too well... However, you can relate what you wished to inform us about to me, as well as ask questions you need answers for. Blade takes in consideration what I usually have to say... - he explained. Indeed, between the two he was the voice of reason, a classic good angel/smash you to bits and yell at you for great justice angel, he was a classic example of the former. The latter was a good military commander and warrior, but he had a very nasty personality, as many slashangemons do, and the angemon often had to mend holes in relationships that he did...

"Obvious or not, sometimes it's better to fall into the trap than simply wait, once I tried to play defensively and that cost the lives of my entire clan. It's true that I don't know the details of the situation, but I have lived many times similar ones in the past and in my experience unless you have an anti-siege security system and can self-sustain yourselves, it's useless to try to buy time stalling the enemy attack, we can expect some time of relief while they procure more boulders, but unless the enemy loses its catapults and golemons, they will eternally continue the siege given that judging the situation, this black omnimon foe had been supplying the demons with more troops and resurces and he will continue offering support to the demon corps until this city is destroyed ... at least if he's not the kind of leader who only helps once and deems a failure those who fail even after receiving once more supplies."
Some memories never fade away, and the ones related with parallelmon would never cease to exist even if the foul creature were to be slain. Back when The angel clan was sieged by Parallelmon, everybody Ciel included tried to play defensively but they earned nothing but a slow death against the unstoppable menage and it was only after taking the fight to him instead of simply waiting until he appeared when they obtained blood stained results in the form of valuable data that let their scientists create the program required to detect and his dimensional gates. Such experience made Ciel consider direct attack as the only solution when everything else fails and there's no time to prepare a plan.
"Hello Uriel, my name is Ciel and other than the information he already knew I have nothing else to say. The main reason why I came here was to deliver a letter and if my services are now unneeded, I shall depart to the Shadow Zone to attempt to obtain it's lord's help. That other darcmon Jane died looking for help and like her I'm willing to run the risk of death to obtain more help now that I know who is the enemy and how much of a threat he is."
In one way or another she was going to help the angels even if they didn't want her help, she was stubborn enough to try to pull the stunt and her lack of fear against death only made her even more resolute to do anything to save them, she wasn't simply going to stay in the city doing nothing while people were dying and parallelmon was near.

- I am afraid getting out is not that easy as you say... - the angemon sighed as they landed on top of some building, from where it was possible to see things more clearly, like an observation point. The sight ... it was pretty depressing. Ruins of once a ... well, city, surrounded by the black ring of the enemy forces. Getting through those would be very difficult, if not impossible... The enemy quadrupled their defenses after their daring raid, so getting out would be much, much more difficult...
- We tried breaking through with a messenger to call for aid, numerous times too. But so far ... none of our brothers and sisters came back with an army, so I assume they must be dead. Our last darcmon was the last angel we send on that mission, and we have reached our limit. The fate of this city hangs in the balance. Although the militias fight valiantly, the main weight lies on us angemon and our general. Should we lose more, and the enemy will storm us, his numerical supremacy overwhelming. - he sighed out. No, he did not quite approve of the darcmon's plan, but there was no other choice. Either way they were going to die, and another army was the only way to save them.
- I may be able to convince Blade to try breaking through again, though our chances of succeeding are ... slim at best. God, it was much easier to fight when there were demos alone. We knew what to expect from them, and they always chose the heat of battle instead of this ... snake suffocation. They never attack us directly. They just dig and advance, dig and advance... And a few days ago those bombardments came around, among ... other things. You said you saw them before, but in between conversation it was hard to understand everything. Did the dinosaur Kingdom already fall to them? Or do they still struggle?

"So this state of high security is something new ... that explains why Jane managed to escape"
She believed that Jane and the others escaped through the current enemy defensive perimeter, but if what the angemon said was true, then this brutally effective siege was due a brilliant tactician who recently arrived and used demoralizing tactics like bombardment and the use of defensive buildings. That explains why a devimon and two demidevimons were the only ones looking for the fallen darcmon, that only happened because at that time the demons lacked the support of those weaker digimon who thanks to their leader managed to change the ineffective demon siege into a very effective one.
"... Now I see why slash angemon thought my plan was foolish, the odds are incredibly against us. But still, if we simply stay here the enemy will eventually obtain more boulders and repair their catapults to continue wrecking the city until there's no place where to hide, I see no other choice but to either somehow dig a escape tunnel, which would take days or even weeks, or break through and sacrifice many of the soldiers to let others escape. I would also advise to negotiate with the enemy, but I'm not sure if that's possible with those foes and the surrender conditions most likely would involve the execution of the leaders and strongest warriors if they accepted to negotiate"
The situation was so bad that possible plan involved many deaths, some more than others. They could also try to leave flying as high as possible to avoid enemy fire, but that would mean to abandon their injured and many of the non angel type members of the troops were unable to fly, which would render many of the angels carrying non fliers unable to fight against the flying demons and knowing how crafty was the enemy, it wasn't crazy to imagine they also had zeppelings or similar flying machines to let their goblimons and ogremon fly and shoot at the angels.
"The dinosaur kingdom is still in a state of warring states, each dinosaur warlord fighting for supremacy and control of the rest of the nation. Black Omnimon's attempts in that region failed and I don't think those dinos will fall against him easily, they are nature born warriors after all ... although a smart commander could make use of the infight to conquer it ..."
The paildramon was a fool, but an actually competent leader could crush those isolated dino warlords, most likely they mistrusted each other and a cunning bk omnimon agent could make them destroy each other.

- Negotiating with demons is death. - the angemon parried when he heard the darcmon's proposal. Surely she weren't so foolish to try negotiating with ones who only craved for angelic blood? No, that would never happen, he'd rather die in combat that submit to the demons, as would every one of his order, in that his position was final. He just didn't have any illusions about demons being merciful, and failed to consider ... an alternative, and was more prone to discussing the breach plan.
- But if we're gonna try making an opening for you, would you leave your shark friend behind? He doesn't have wings, and he would not be able to follow... And I do not know if we will be able to hold for that long... - the angel said. What would Ciel do? Agree on this course of action and leave her pupil behind? Or stay and wait for the impending doom? He did not know, this why he asked.

"I agree, at least those specific demons will listen to no one"
Again with the differences between universes, in hers demons were not innately evil and in fact plenty of times they cooperated with angels to deal with troublemakers and other kind of problems, so she was a bit biased in favor of giving the the demons the advantage of doubt, something she was trying to leave aside as demons here were a lot more vicious than in her homeworld. Nevermind, the angemon considered partially viable the idea of breaking through the enemy perimeter and talked about Tylo.
"Tylo is fast and hovers, but cannot reach high altitudes like us, it is hard to leave him behind, but I think he's better off helping the city defense and has matured enough to act independently from me. I can and want to go out to look for help, but if we try that, I need to know one of you will be here to make sure Tylo doesn't exposes himself to danger too much, he still has a lot to live and he shouldn't become as fearless and reckless as me"
Ciel had completely lost the fear against death and would dare to do things considered insane by people with common sense, until now she had been lucky to always escape alive, but someday her luck could run out and that's why she didn't want Tylo to completely follow her footsteps, he didn't need to risk his life for things unrelated with him, he had to live to eventually become a royal guard and fulfill his dreams, doing what Ciel failed to do in the past: protect her lords.
