Rika turned back toward the battle. She didn't have any more time to worry about Calumon. She wasn't patient enough to do that. She would have to let Henry and Takato deal with him. She liked him, but there was a battle going on right in front of her, and she needed to make sure Renamon was safe before she did anything else.
She quickly chose a card from her deck, knowing that she needed to do something, or else Renamon was going to get hurt. She slipped her deck back into the pack on her belt and held up her digivice.
"Digimodify! Speed activate!"
She slid the card through the digivice ever so gracefully to activate the card.
"Thanks Rika!" Renamon said to herself. She saw the bats coming, but she needed to dodge them. After the first flurry of bats, she quickly disappeared, elegantly dodging all of them. She then landed on the ground not too far ahead.
"Kohenkyo!" Renamon shouted her attack, instantaneously switching places with Rika up on the hill, standing next to the remaining tamers, leaving Rika safely up ahead where she had been standing only moments ago.
"RENAMON!" Rika shouted back to her as the bats came flying toward her.
"I will not let you hurt my friends... DIAMOND STORM!"
She then fired a flurry of Diamonds at the bats coming toward the tamers, hoping to hurt enough of them to keep them away from hurting Takato and Henry if not destroy them. Myotismon was clearly done toying around with them, having obviously spotted Calumon. Now he had used his grisly wing attack, sending countless bats down to attack the tamers and digimon. "Digimodify! Speed activate!" Henry shouted, swiping the card through his D-Power. With his new speed, Terriermon attacked the bats sent at him. "Terrier Tornado!" Terriermon shouted, spinning around as fast as he could, sending a tornado at the bats closing in on him.
When Rika suddenly appeared on the battlefield Terriermon rushed forward to protect her from any attack that would come her way when that close to the battlefield. "Bunny Blast!" said Terriermon, sending another burst of green energy pellets at Myotismon.

"Rock Breaker!" cried Guilmon as he ran into the horde of bats. He flew the bats headed towards MYotismon hoping that he was hitting some of the bats, before he tried to land a blow to Myotismon. Guilmon then ran over to Terriermon and Rika's postion to hold off any attack that would come her way.
Takato looked at Calumon and gave a sigh, of course he would show up in the middle of a battle, it was totally like him. He gave a sigh and turn around to see a whole horde of bats coming towards him. Takato gave a glup before hiding his head in his arms awaiting the attack....

Myotismon quickly moved to the side of the Guilmon, attempting to slam his fist into the back of the lizard's back. But before he could even reach him, a sharp string shot through his spine.
"Im....Im actually gonna die..."
He lowered his body to the ground, falling onto his knees as he stared towards the tamers, as well as their partners. But then, a chuckle replaced his groans of pain.
"Ha..haha....Do...do not think this to be the end...We will...have the catalyst..."
The digimon's form began to glow as a red line of energy surged within his free hand. Then, with one swift movement, he quickly sent the crimison whip towards Renamon, rising up as a smirk appeared over his face.
"One way...or another...Crimson Lightning!!"

What ever reaction Calumon was expecting, it wasn't what he got. When Rika yelled at him, in his surprise, he lost his grip on her shoulder and fell off, landing hard on his tail. His ears shrunk down and the expression now on his face made it quite clear that Rika's less than tact words had hurt. "I... just wanted to play.." He muttered sadly. "I'll go now." He then ran off back into the bushes, and away from the scene, ignoring Henry's words as he went.
However, before he could leave, a flash of red lashing up the hill, catching Calumon by surprise as he saw it fly toward Renamon. "Hey thats not a very nice game." He pouted, the crystal matrix on his head beginning to glow, its light engulfing Renamon, Terriermon and Guilmon, triggering their digivolution.
Calumon's Crystal Matrix has activated!
Terriermon my now digivolve to Gargomon
Renamon may now digivolve to Kyubimon
Guilmon may now digivolve to Growlmon

Renamon quickly put her arms up as to block the crimson lightning. The whip was coming for her quickly and there was nothing she could do to defend herself. The kids were top priority. She had to keep them safe. If she couldn't, there was no hope. She didn't even know what the bigger enemy was, but she knew that Rika, Takato, and Henry would all need to be present to help fight it.
"Renamon!"
Renamon looked down to Rika after she shouted her name. She suddenly felt a strange power surging through her. She as though her body was beginning to pulsate with a foreign strength. She had to help Rika, and with this strength, she felt like she wouldn't let her down.
"Renamon digivolve too!"
Her body became illuminated by a flashy light as she began to change shape. She hadn't done it in a long time, but it seemed she was ready to digivolve once again. Her tail branched out, creating 8 more, as she grew standing on all four legs as normal foxes would.
"Kyubimon!"
Even though she had digivolved into Kyubimon, she knew this wasn't over yet. She still had that Crimson Lightning attack coming for her, and if she didn't throw it off course, she would risk it hitting one of her comrades. She began to spin rapidly as her body became engulfed in flames. She spun toward the crimson blast to knock hopefully make it disperse. She knew that she still wasn't as strong as the ultimate digimon, but maybe he would still be in shock from her recent Digivolution. |

How could they do this? If things kept up like this, there would be no way for them to win this battle. Even three on one, they weren't strong enough. Henry flipped through his cards again. trying to find something to help Terriermon. But it was no use. He had nothing. A digicannon yeah, but how long would that last? Henry's thoughts were interrupted though, as a whip of red energy lashed up the hill towards Renamon. "Terriermon do something!" he called out desperately. Before Terriermon could give make some sort of sarcastic response though, a light suddenly engulfed him, giving him a massive energy boost. "Terriermon digivolve to!". Terriermon rapidly began to grow, his ears, legs and arms extending, and his body growing to become more proportional with his head. As his arms extended to receive twin Gatling guns as a pair of jeans appeared on him. Finishing the sequence off, he whipped an ammunition belt over his shoulder, which wrapped around his right hip to meet it's opposite end where it snapped into place.  "Gargomon!"Henry blinked. They... digivolved? He didn't recall swiping the card, but then he remember Calumon, who seemed to have not taken the hint to run and was still standing there, the red triangle on his head still glowing a bit. Meanwhile Renamon had digivolved into Kyubimon and was fending off the crimson lightning attack. Now that his partner had digivolved, he had the perfect card to use to help Gargomon win this fight. "Digimodify! Super Strength activate!" he called out, swiping the card. Now that he was a fighting type, the card now worked to strength Gargomon's power up to Ultimate level for a couple of turns, power this gun bunny was intending to use. "Thought you had us beaten did you, ya big meanie! Take this, Gargo laser!" Gargomon fired his gatling guns at Myotismon. With power to match his, now it seemed much more possible to win this fight. Name: Super Strength Duration: 2 Posts Color: Gold Effect: A digimon who has the Special Ability "Fight" gains the power of a digimon 1 level above their current level for the duration of this card's effect. |

Takato turned around quickly to see if Calumon had gone away. Good, Calumon was no where in sight. Calumon was save....Wait. Did Myotismon just say an attack?! He turned around quickly half expecting the attack to be coming his way only to see that the attack was heading for Renamon.
Takato looked as she began to glow, she was digivolving into Kyubimon, Takato looked at Henry and said, "Renamon is digivolvi-...." Takato was cut off by the sudden glow of Terriermon, he was digivolving too...
Takato looked at both Kyubimon and Gargomon before noticing the familar red glow. THat must mean....Takato turned towards Guilmon as he was about to get hit by the elbow only to hear, "Guilmon digivolve to~."
His body started to grow longer, his limbs as well. Small black rings formed around his arms, before the mark on his chest spread out across his body. He grew long white hair and his eyes became more fearsome.
"Growlmon!" said Growlmon as he hit the ground with his tail, sending him backwards avoiding the elbow. He was still close to Mytoismon though. He looked at Mytoismon with his huge fearsome eyes before saying, "Plasma Blades." He then swung at Mytoismon once more.

Why was this happening? Why did the catalyst continue to help those that were undeserving? He couldn't figure it out! In fact, it was somewhat annoying. In any case, Myotismon had to figure out a plan of action, and quickly.
"You're change doesn't faze me! I will still take my prize!"
As he watched his crimson whip fade from the Kyuubimon's attack, he quickly jumped back in enough time to avoid the glowing wrist blade of Growlmon. But that was only two attacks, where was the third?
Switching his gaze towards the large gun bunny below, the digimon allowed himself to levitate in the air while he quickly covered his body with his cape as he was stuck by the Gargo Laser.
"Argh! Its stronger than I expected...."
With each super charged blast, he felt more and more of his energy fade in his attempts to block it. His time was short, he needed to obtain Calumon.
"Grizly Wing!!"
Up lifting his hands from his cowl, he summoned another large storm of bats to attack his enemies. Hopefully, this would buy him some time to get closer to the small digimon near by.

"Awesome... She Digivolved."
Rika looked where Renamon had previously been standing in awe. The question was why this surprised her so much. She remembered that Calumon did have the power to make Digimon Digivolve. This was perfect. Calumon always came through at the most pressing of times, and that had certainly been the case this time. Regardless, there was no time to reminisce. This time required action, and Rika was standing in the middle of the battle field right now.
"Digimodify! Speed Activate!"
Kyubimon began to feel a sudden charge of power coursing through her body once again just as soon as Rika swiped the card. Her speed had been increased and she knew perfectly well what she needed to do. She had to get to Rika so that she could protect her. This was simply a dangerous situation and she needed to get Rika out of center stage. She quickly leaped down from the hill, running toward Rika at her top speed. It only took her an instant to reach her.
"Rika, hop on."
"I know..."
Rika quickly hopped onto Kyubimon's back as they looked up to the enemy Digimon. It was time to get serious with the fighting. If they didn't, it was still possible to lose. Kyubimon quickly leapt up into the air as the tip of each of her tails became ignited by a small flame.
"Fox Tail Inferno!" She quickly launched nine flames at Myotismon which would pack an explosion on contact. |
