Episode 4: Cover of Darkness (Henry/Takato/Rika)

What had once been a challenge, had now turned to mere child's play. His confidence was so high that he didn't even bother to attack by, in fact, all he did was dodge the attacks.

As the Terriermon charged towards him, Myotismon quickly took to the sky, avoiding the attempted strike of the sword. Then, as the ball of fire soared towards him, he quickly lifted his cape up as a defence, blocking the blast, though recieving some damage in the process.

"Hahahahaha!!!"

His laughter rose in pitch, almost as quickly as the smoke did from his black cloak. The monster was playing with them, as if he had been waiting for this moment through this entire encounter. But how long would it take for him to begin to attack?

"You fools are wasting my time! Now tell me the where abouts of Calumon..."

[Kazai]

"NEVER!" Rika screamed to Myotismon from the top of the hill. There was no way she would allow herself to be intimidating by a flying oversized bat. It had been way too long sense she had had a fight which had promise to be as intense as this one did, and she wasn't about to let his change in size scare her away. Besides, she had Renamon, and she knew that with Renamon and the other tamers, she could do anything. Besides, she still had some tricks up her sleeve.

She continued to go through her cards, knowing that the shield was about to go down. She couldn't allow for Takato and Henry to get hurt down there. They were depending on her right now being so close to the battle. They needed to distance themselves at least a little. After all, now that Devimon had become an Ultimate, there was bound to be collateral damage and she didn't want her allies to become a part of that, but still, she couldn't find a card that would take him out.

Renamon continued to hold her arms up as she was bound by the shield, but she knew that it wouldn't stay up much longer. She looked back to Takato and Henry.

"Takato, Henry... This shield is about to break!"

Okay, all I got left is Speed and Fly Away....man.....I really should have brought more cards. Though I really didn't know that this was gonna to happen.

[/i] Takato sighed, this battle was defiantly not in their favor at the moment. Last turn of Mega defense Guilmon. He had no combo's in mind. WAIT! He could use that combo. It was the last combo he had though.....So he would have ot be careful.

As Takato reached into his pocket for another card he heard Rika's voice. He blinked and then face-palmed himself. It was kind of stupid for him and Henry just to sit there and wait for the shield to break. Takato looked at Henry and said, "Henry....maybe we should move away from the ultimate digimon trying to kill us..."

Takato slowly backed up and then turned around when he was at the base of the hill. This should be far enough he thought. He wasn't to close, yet not to far. Takato then reached into his pockets once more and grabbed a card. He then gave it a swipe saying, "Digimodify! Fly Away, Activate!"

As he said Activate, six energy wings erupted from the huge Guilmon. He then started to flap them hoping that Terriermon was away from at the moment before flying towards Myotismon with his claw covered in fire. Guilmon then said, "Flame Ender!"

[Henry]

Myotismon had dodged both Terriermon's and Guilmon's attacks as is they were nothing. He was toying with them! What was worse, he didn't have any useful cards left. At all. Renamon's shield wasn't going to last forever either. In fact, it was starting to show signs of failing completely, as Renamon had correctly stated. "Yeah, come on Renamon, we need some distance. Guilmon, Terriermon! Keep him busy!" said Henry, before running towards Rika with Takato and Renamon (hopefully) following him.

"What do you think we're trying to do, have a party?" Was Terriermon's sacastic retort at Henry's orders. He hopped off Guilmon once he was sufficiently high in the air, inflating his ears to slow his decent. He then began spinning around in circles with Excalibur held out. Once he spinning fast enough, he hurled the sword at Myotismon. This was his last chance to attack anyways, so there was no point holding onto it anymore. Hopefully throwing it might do a bit more damage as well.

Myotismon smirked as he looked towards the two digimon as they attacked,especially the flying Guilmon. This was too easy, theres no way he would lose this fight, victory was already his.

"Haha! Come get some lizard!"

As he watched the Guilmon approach, he then felt a sharp pain strike his arm. He then looked down to see a large blade within his shoulder. How could he have been so careless? Holding his shoulder with his free hand, he completely forgetten about Guilmon's charge.

"That long earred rodent! I'll--Oof!!"

It was then that the red dragon's claws connected with his chest, knocking him backwards through the sky.

[Calumon]

"Where'd he go?" Calumon wondered aloud, as he walked along the edge of Shinjuku Park. He had met a giant white digimon earlier when exploring the digital world's forests. He had promised to play with him! But where was he now? No where to be seen. "Maybe he's playing hide and seek?" Calumon guessed. "He must be really good at it because he's so big and I don't see him anywhere. Ready or not here I come!" He shouted, running into the park to search for his big friend.

He dashed through the trees, stopping everyonce in a while behind a tree. He then jumped out from behind a tree, with a paw pointed forward. "Found you--! Aww." He shouted, only to be disappointed that the big white digimon wasn't there. But he continued on, repeating the action every once in while, but still he didn't find him.

Getting a bit tired, he paused near one of the hills. "Wow he must be really good." He muttered. He then looked around, spotting a familiar face standing on top a hill. "Rika!" He called, running up the hill to her, jumping up onto her shoulder. "Are you playing hide and seek too? If you are I don't think you picked a very good hiding place." He remarked childishly.

Rika stood watching Renamon down below. Her shield had just shattered away and things were about to get serious. She clenched her digivice in her right hand tightly, holding down her cards in her other hand. All of her cards seemed so useless right now. She had nothing that would help her beat Myotismon. The best thing her cards could do was to help her stall. How pointless.

"Calumon?!"

She jumped, quickly turning to see that Calumon was approaching her. This was bad. The Digimon before them wanted Calumon, and yet the little cream puff had almost walked into his hands. Things were getting worse by the second.

"You shouldn't be here! Get out of here!"



"Diamond Storm!"

Down below Renamon's shield had finally shattered. It was gone, but still, she had to make sure that all of the tamer's were protected. She followed Henry and Takato as they ran for safety, but after they were almost there, she leaped into the air, firing her attack at Myotismon. She had no intention of letting him get past her and get to Rika, Takato, or Henry.

Okay it was time to use the combo. This was his last card he hoped that it worked. He grabbed his last card and swiped it through his digivice and said, "Digimodify! Speed Activate!" Now the rest was up to Guilmon and the other digimon.

Now that the shield was gone, he was totally unprotected against any attack that could come. Even knowning this, he was determined not to move from this spot. He looked at Guilmon, then Terriermon and finally at Renamon and began to hope that there combined power could defeat this digimon.

Guilmon sighed as he size decreased back down to his regular size. But just as that happened he felt a boost. Next thing you knew Guilmon was flying as if he were a giant humming bird. He had an idea. He flew high into the sky and looked down. This was his chance. He then used all the speed he could muster with gravity, the speed card boost and the extra layer of metal skin to increase he speed downward. He then raised his claw in the air and said, "Flame Ender!" His claw become engulfed in flame once more as he tried to use the momentum of the drop to strengthen his attack.

Just as he was a few feet from the group he used his extra speed to fly away from the on coming attack from Renamon and away from Myotismon.

[Henry]

The second the barrier broke, Henry ran as hard as he could towards Rika. However, someone else had come and was now clinging to Rika's shoulder. That certainly was real bad. But he couldn't exactly blame the little guy for popping up at the worst of times. He wasn't the most intelligent digimon, highly curious and extremely naive. Not exactly the greatest of combinations. "Um Calumon..." said Henry, trying to think of a way to get rid of him. "It's your turn to hide Calumon! Go hide and can't let that digimon Guilmon and Terriermon are fighting find you okay? Go!"

Meanwhile, Terriermon was now weaponless on the battlefield. Thankfully though, his final attack with Excalibur had hit it's mark, causing Myotismon noticeable pain. But still, it didn't appear as if it had been enough. Myotismon was still standing. A miracle would be really nice now, but it didn't seem like it was going to come at this point. "Bunny Blast!" Terriermon shouted, shouting a cluster of energy pellets at the Myotismon. It was a horribly weak attack against an ultimate level digimon, but there wasn't much else he could do at the moment.

Myotismon was still floating on his back, unaware of the attacks that were coming. At least, not intill they connected. Once he felt Guilmon's claws slam down upon him, he was jolted back into conciousness, yet, not in time to fly away from Renamon's Diamond storm attack.

Flipping himself upright, the digimon growled as he glared towards his foes below. His clothing was tathered, his body weak, he could barely hold himself together. In fact, the only thing keeping him tied to this world was pure his will. He wanted to defeat these kids, and he would get those digimon's data as well.

"I...will not die! Not when I have obtained the power to digi-volve. Not when I..."

It was then that he saw him. His target was at least before him. Finally, it was now time for him to complete his mission.

Just as a smirk was starting to form, it quickly disappeared as a green blast connected into his already wounded shoulder. That was it...He had it. Now it was time for them to die.

"Thats it! Grisly Wing!!"

Within moments, a swam of bats sprang out from behind him and then quickly swooped down towards the tamers below.
