Episode 4: Cover of Darkness (Henry/Takato/Rika)

[Takato Matsuki]

Takato watched as Terriermon appeared on Henry's shoulder. Now Henry had Terriormon back, while he had no one. He was all alone out here. Would the loneliness absorb him? Would he never hear that goofy voice again? Oh, he really wished that Guilmon was right here by his side.

Those words, the words every tamer says. Digi-modify. He felt those words trying to going up his throat, but he knew he couldn't say it. Even if he did, it would have no meaning to it. He's grip on his digivice grew even tighter as he saw the Gorilla Cannon attack hit it's mark.

Finally Takato looked down at his digivice to see it glowing. It hadn't glowed in two years. Why now, why here, was Guilmon nearby? So many questions, but there was not time to express them. He looked to his side to see Henry and Terriermon about to get hit by the Devimon.

"PYRO SPHERE!" yelled a familar and childish voice. He also saw the familar fire orb headed for the Devimon's face. Takato turned towards the old hangout to see Guilmon in the field with his eyes glowing gold. It was really Guilmon.....Guilmon was back! Tears started to run down his face as Guilmon walked towards him with his goofy expression. He wiped the few tears of his face as Guilmon said, "Takatomon, whats wrong?

Takato smiled and said, "Nothing boy, nothing, lets get into this." Guilmon nodded his head and said, "Then we can get Guilmon bread!" His eyes turned sharp and lizard like rather then the open and bliss filled eyes. Guilmon was ready to fight.

Takato grabbed a card out of his pocket and slid it through his digivice saying, "DIGIMODIFY, POWER CHARGER AVTIVATE!" Guilmon growled as a small aura formed around him. Guilmon then opened his mouth a fired a fire orb at the Devimon again saying, "PYRO SPHERE!"

[Henry]

Henry and Terriermon stepped back as the Devimon reached over to grab them. "Terriermon get out of there!" Henry shouted, more worried about the attack hitting his partner, than himself. fortunately though, something else came to their rescue, sending a blast of red energy at Devimon's hand, and both he and Terriermon were able to avoid the attack.

"Ha-ha you missed!" Terriermon taunted the Devimon. Henry shook his head, unimpressed by Terriermon's behavior. "Don't antagonize him Terriermon!" called Henry. Terriermon however, was enjoying himself as usual. He never was one not to throw down some offhand remark at his enemies. He was a bit over confident. However, he didn't have any digivolution cards, so he would have a difficult time backing himself up.

Terriermon just laughed though. "Theres no way this oversized fruit bat can beat us! Gorilla Cannon!" He shouted, firing yet another gorilla cannon attack at the Devimon. Henry sighed. Yeah, they probably could take this Devimon. But he still prefered not to get his enemies unnecessarily angry.

As if one digimon wasn't enough, another appears to join in ruining his fun. It appeared that his game was now over, now it was time to become more serious at defeating these pests. Yet, it would be lie to say that the Devimon was not becoming annoyed by their increased strength. After all, they were nothing more than rookies, yet they were causing serious damage to him. Not only that, but the fact that the smaller one called him an over-sized fruit bat really bothered him.

"Over-sized Fruit bat you say!?"

The digimon questioned after getting attacked by the two digimon. His body then slowly began to rise into the air, his wings outstretched while he crossed his arms over his chest.

"This bat has more power in his finger tip, than you have in your whole body!!"

With that, he stretched his claws forwards, laughing joyfully as he allowed dark energy to gather at the center of his palms.

"Hell's Contract!!"

With that, dark matter began to rain upon the tamers and their digimon. Each small blast more deadly than the next.

[Kazai]

"Digi-Modify! Wizardmon's spell activate!"

Instantly, a barrier appeared around Takato and Henry, and between the two of them, a third Digimon had appeared, one who they would certainly recognize as Rika's partner, Renamon. Renamon stood there with her arms outstretched. The barrier would stand, protecting Takato and Henry from the dark matter falling upon them. She didn't know what the effects of the matter would be, but she did know they certainly weren't good. At least this way the Tamer's Digimon could fight without worrying about the safety of their tamers. Of course, Terriermon and Guilmon would still have to fend for themselves.

"What would you boys do without me?"

Rika stood at the top of the nearby hill looking down at her comrades fighting below. She had come due to the signal given by her digivice, knowing that more Digimon had just recently bioemerged as well. It was strange how many had been coming to the human world recently, but at least the team was back together. The original three tamers. She felt so empowered. There would be nothing that they couldn't do.

Name: Wizardmon's Spell

Color: Gold
Effect: Creates barrier around the digimon modified by this card which can easily withstand up to a Champion Level Attack. The radius of this barrier is variable. This barrier protects all those inside from all outside attacks, but also prevents those on the inside from attacking as well. If attacked by an Ultimate Level Attack, the shield is shattered but it defends that one attack. If attacked by a Mega Level or higher, the shield is not strong enough to defend.

[Takato Matsuki]

Oh man, this will really hurt thought Takato as he heard Devimon yell his attack. Takato looked up in the sky to see black globs form above them. He covered his head half expecting to get burned, until he heard HER voice. He felt the familiar wind of a digimon, the minute her turned he felt a warm glow surroned him and the people inside.

Takato looked up and shook his head before looking at the digimon...It was Renamon and if Renamon was here....That meant..... He quickly turned around when he heard her speak again. It was Rika, that means the team was complete now. The original three. Now that they were together again, the three of them, no the six of them could take anything down. After all....They did get rid of the D-reaper.

Takato looked over at Henry and said, "You sure it's not like old times?" He then looked at Rika with a smile and said, "Well Rika, took you long enough."

Wait, this wasn't the time for this, he may be save but Guilmon wasn't. He looked back outside to see Guilmon about to get hit by globs, they probably do a lot....Wait, he did have that card. Takato gave a smile and grabbed a card from his pocket. He then said, "Digimodify! Power-Up Floppy Disk activate!"

Just as he said those words, Guilmon grew, and when he grew, he really grew. If anything he was close to Henry and Terriermon's Bio-merge. The card with strength his defensive to an Ultimate level, and with the other increase in attack power he had done eariler, this card would take Guilmon's strength to Ultimate as well.

Guilmon gave a growl before opening his mouth. He then fired a big ball of fire and said, "Pyro Sphere, Hah!"

Effect: A digimon who is modified by this card will increase in size by tenfold. The digimon's attack power will be raised by one level, and it's defensive power will be raised by two.

[Henry]

With it's two attacks used up, Terriermon's Gorilla Cannon disintegrated, and Terriermon's arm was back to normal, as well as his attack power. On top of that Devimon had launched his next attack, hell's contract, which sent orbs of black energy raining down on them. Henry searched through his available cards rapidly, trying to find something to protect Terriermon. He didn't have any defensive cards on him though. "Terriermon dodge it!" He ordered helplessly.

Terriermon looked up at the rain of darkness, then around the area. "How do you suppose I do tha-- Oh hey Renamon! Slow-poke you almost missed all the fun!" He waved as the yellow fox digimon ran towards Takato and Henry with a shield around her, protecting them from Devimon's attack. Terriermon however, didn't have time to run as the attack began to hit the ground, causing the ground to explode around them.

Henry bit his lip, covering his head with his arms, shutting his eyes tight as he waited for the attack to hit. However, never came, at least, for him and Takato. Blinking his eyes open, he spotted Renamon between himself and Takato. As the smoke from the attack cleared, he looked around to see Rika standing atop a nearby hill. Before he could say anything though, he remembered. "Terriermon!" He called.

The rabbit digimon was on his feet though, a bit dusty from taking the attack, but still doing quite well. "I'm here Henry! This guy's all talk. He can't hurt me-- hey!" Terriermon broke off as Guilmon suddenly started growing. Terriermon ran to give the giant guilmon room. "Wow Guilmon, what have you been eating? You're as big as a house!" said Terriermon, poking fun.

"Terriermon..." Henry sighed, though he couldn't help but smile. As much as this wasn't the time for Terriermon's teasing, he missed Terriermon's smart alec attitude. With his gorilla cannon gone though, Terriermon was now badly under powered. Henry pulled out another card, and swiped it through his digivice. "Digimodify! Excalibur Activate!" He called, and MangnaAngemon's sword appeared in Terriermon's hands.

Terriermon ran at Devimon with the sword dragging behind him, before swinging the sword at the evil digimon's ankles, "Take that!" Terriermon shouted at Devimon. The sword glowed with the increased power of a champion level digimon, due to it's target being a virus type.

This couldn't be?? They were like ants, they just kept coming. Soon it would be an army, he was sure of it. That was, if he made it through these attacks, and it didn't seem likely. With each strike, he felt himself getting weaker.

"How can this be...."

His form becalme blurry, his body kneeling as he shook in anger. He was a devil, yet the light was beating him like a mere pup.

"No...I ..I will not let it end this way!!"

At that moment, a loud roar errupted from him, his head looking up towards the sky as he became surrounded by a dark mist.

"Devimon....Digi-volve toooo...."

Within moments, his large size began to shrink, intill the digimon was then the size of a human adult. But his blue and yellow lined clothing,his fanged teeth, and pale face that was covered by a winged mask, made his appearance more towards that of a dracula fan.

"So...This is digi-volution...incredible..."

Whipping his black cape over his shoulders, the Myotismon chuckled as he stared towards the human children. Perhaps now the fun would continue...

[Takato Matsuki]

"Ha....Haha...Ha.. laughed Takato a little as the Devimon digivolved into Myotismon. Takato gluped as his first card, Power Charger faded away, leaving just the Power-Up Floppy disk. He turned around slowly looking at Rika and then at Henry.....They were screwed. No, he had to calm down. It was not the time to think like that.

Takato looked at the new digivolved digimon. They could beat it right. After all they had fought the D-reaper and won. They had fight to sovereign too. But.....If he remembered right....Myotismon might as well be a freaking mega. No he had to believe in Guilmon.....and a miracle, the three rookies could defeat in Ultimate if they worked together....Right?

Okay, Takato looked at his card that he had left, there were a few level 1 cards and that was it. He sighed, he grabbed a card and wiped through his digivice saying, "Digimodify! Metal Attack Activate!" He then looked at Terriermon and said, "Terriermon after you attack, try and get behind Guilmon, his defense is at Mega level."

He then looked at Guilmon and nodded his head. Guilmon gave a growl and took a big breath. He then said, "Pyro Sphere!" Then a fire ball went flying towards the newly digivolved digimon.

"Keep it up Renamon!"

Rika watched down below as Renamon held up the shield. They had to bide their time until they could come up with a plan, and she had to protect her comrades at all costs. The fact that the Digimon had digivolved didn't seem to phase her, not that she would openly express such fears anyway.

Renamon continued to stand between Takato and Henry holding up the shield. She could feel her hold on it becoming weaker, but she couldn't let it go. She was bounded by the card to hold the shield up. It was no longer her choice. Regardless, they did still need the shield.

Rika pulled out her deck, shuffling through her cards looking for something helpful. What they needed was a battle plan. That much she knew, but what could she use against Myotismon? Did she have anything helpful enough?

[Henry]

Excalibur - 2/3 turns

At first it seemed as though Devimon was defeated, having took an ultimate and champion level attack. His appearance began to blur, as was typical when a digimon's was about to release it's data. Victory seemed to be in their hands, but cruel fate decided to intervene. The nearly dead Devimon digivolved into the much smaller, but far more powerful ultimate level Myotismon. This was certainly a harsh blow when victory seemed so close for them. Now the battle seemed more hopeless than ever.

But they couldn't give up. He wouldn't allow himself to. They've been in worse situations than this and came out alive, so this couldn't be any different. They would win. They had to, or else Myotismon would search out Calumon and do who knows what with him. "Come on Terriermon! Show him digivolving won't save him!" Henry called to his partner.

Terriermon, when faced with the ultimate level digimon, couldn't help but feel just a tiny bit less over confident than he was previously. But he was still in the game. When Takato told him to hide behind Guilmon, the rabbit digimon laughed. "Gee, that won't be hard." He remarked. Of course not. Guilmon was huge right now. There'd be no way any attack was going to get to him if he stayed behind Guilmon.

Terriermon once again ran towards the Myotismon, swinging his sword to try and slash the Myotismon, before retreating to hide on top of the back claw of Guilmon's foot to protect himself from Myotismon's attacks, as well as avoid being inadvertently stepped on by Guilmon as well.
