Hikaru simply shrugged at that, almost as though he didn't care what they wanted now that they were gone. If they ever came back, he'd be ready and waiting for sure. It was pretty crazy how they came after him though, he hadn't been expecting anything like that. The beating was worth it in the end because he was able to whoop their asses just as bad and he was outnumbered. All in all, it was a pretty good day. Maybe something good would come out of the little scuffle he was in. Maybe Hikari would finally see how he truly felt for her at this point. Maybe she'd see how far he was willing to go for her sake. All he wanted to do was tell her how he felt, but that was something much more difficult to do than it was to think of.
"They'll think twice about coming back. I'm glad they didn't mess with you, Kari-chan. I don't know what I'd do if they tried." Of course he knows what he'd do, but he didn't want to say it out loud. He would have turned them into a giant mass of bleeding flesh that couldn't even be recognized as human. That is the fate of all he cross his sister's path and attempt to ruin her life.
"I just wish I could have been a better brother so that none of what happened took place in the first place..."

"Awww... You're a great brother!"
Hikari hugged her arms around him to enforce her point. She then gave him a soft kiss on the cheek before finally releasing him. She knew he had always been there for her, and the only times she had gotten in trouble were when she didn't do what he said. It was because of that that she would always obey his every command, or even suggestion, from this point forward.
"Every bad thing that's ever happened to me was my fault... no one else's. And when I do get in trouble, it's usually because I didn't listen to your advice," she added. She took a couple of steps away from him and turned her back to him. She no longer wished to ask him why those boys were after him. She knew that for whatever reason it was, it was her fault.
"And I'm sorry."

He blushed slightly as Hikari wrapped her arms around him before giving his a soft kiss on his cheek, something he longed for. Though he winced slightly as he could feel the pain in his side suddenly making itself known once more. Of course, even though she said such things he still had a hard time believing that any of this was true. If he was such a great big brother then he would have been able to shield her from all the things that have been plaguing her. Sure, there were certain obstacles things in his way that he couldn't account for, but if he was supposed to be her protector then he should have been able to ignore them all and bust through any obstacle with brute force if need be. Maybe he just lacked the drive to do his best... Maybe he'd have to try hard.
"No. It's not your fault! Not at all. I should always be by your side in order to protect you from anything or anyone who tries to hurt you. If anything, that's me breaking my promise..." Hikaru tried to pick his words carefully, though he didn't know exactly how to go about things. One thing about him was that he got easily confused when it came to his sister, simply because he wasn't exactly sure what to say to her. Therefore, the only thing he could do was to go with his heart.
"There's nothing to be sorry about. It's not your fault. Besides...I everything I do is because I love you. Any burden you have, let me hold onto it....all of it..."

By listening to him, she knew that he was putting too much of this on himself. It simply wasn't right for him to do that, and it almost made her feel guilty. Still, she knew that he was her older brother, and simply put, a lot of older brothers were like this with their younger sisters. They felt it was their duty to protect them. She knew that, but even still, she thought Hikaru may be taking it just a bit too far.
"No... I was pushing you away.. I remember perfectly. I thought Takeshi-san was in love with me... and when, you know what happened at the pool... I guess I was dressed a little too promiscuously... That was my fault too. You don't need to blame yourself."
With that, Hikari began to walk, knowing that her brother would follow behind her. At least, she knew that he would come after her if he wasn't too injured to follow. She was only moments away from calling the ambulance if the need arose, and she wouldn't hesitate in doing so if it needed to be done.

She thought that all of that was her fault? The blond couldn't do anything other than frown at what she said, knowing that none of what she presumed to be her fault was actually hers. It was actually a bit depressing to hear her say such things when in reality it was those boys who were truly at fault in it all. Maybe she was a bit naive, but those guys were definitely vultures for preying on her in such a manner. Not only that, but that Takeshi guy had the audacity to pretend that he truly loved her. He was beginning to get angry about it all over again, wishing that he could hurt those guys even further. He'd begin to follow her after he picked his bokken up off of the floor, trying to keep up with his sister. It was then where he finally had something to say.
"Those guys were creeps, don't try to the take the blame off of them. Besides, mom and him never warned us about those types of things so it can't possibly be your fault." He placed his hand on her shoulder gently, smiling a bit though he felt somewhat...depressed?
"You'll know when you fall in love for real now that you know what kinds of things to avoid. Any guy would be lucky to be able to be by your side." Of course, he wanted to be that guy but maybe it wasn't the right moment to say those types of things. Not only would it be stressful altogether, but it didn't seem like it was...right.

"Yeah... Thanks."
Even still, she wasn't sure if she bought all that he was saying. She knew that these bad things had happened to her because she put herself in the situations in the first place. If only she were smarter, they wouldn't have happened to her. Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do about it anymore. With his hand on her shoulder, Hikari stopped walking for a moment.
"Thanks Hikaru. I love you. You're the best brother in the world," she told him before she started walking once again. "Lets get going home."

"I love you too." More than she'd ever know, but he wasn't going to add that little part in. He was much too hurt to say much else than what was required of him in this particular situation. Then again, he wasn't all that smooth of a guy anyway so he doubted he could ever truly convey his feelings for the most part. After all, he had barely done so previous occasions. He simply followed her, though he was slightly annoyed at how his hair kept getting in his eyes since it was all down. To be honest, he had forgotten how long his hair was without his hair tie.
"Home? I guess..." He really didn't want to go there, but there was nowhere else to go and it was beginning to get late. Oh well, maybe they could go do something on another day. It would take some time to get home considering his injuries were rather severe.

With that, the two of them finally walked out of the kendo training room and were on their way out of the kendo training room. She felt so loved to have a brother like Hikaru, though she knew that she shouldn't put too much weight on him. She didn't want him to get hurt because of her. All she truly wanted was his guidance, not his protection. She knew she'd have to learn to protect herself, though truth be told, she felt she was much too dependent to do something like that.
Hikari walked through the school alongside her brother with her hands folded behind her head. She sort of wanted to talk, but couldn't think of anything to talk about. Maybe that was because nothing needed to be said. Silence was golden at times.

Now they were walking along the corridors of their school, though it was deserted for the most part. There didn't seem to be any administrators or teachers around and hardly any students. Well, that was that they hadn't run into any as of yet. However, he got a couple got stares since there was dried up blood upon both his keidogi and hakama which made it quite evident that he had been involved in a scuffle or possibly some tough training. Though he was known for training the Kendo Club's members harshly, he would never get violent but maybe it was a better cover than fighting in school because of personal matters.
"I have to go change clothes and get my stuff from the locker room." He said in a matter-of-fact way, almost as though it was just another random thought floating around in his mind. Not only could he get into some street clothes, but he could also assess the damage to his body. Since there weren't any mirrors or any other reflective surfaces in the dojo, he couldn't really see his injuries.

As the two of them walked through the halls, Hikari noted that there were very very few people in the halls aside from a select few administrators and teachers, but even still, most of them were in their classrooms. She hadn't been at school this late since the incident she had had a while ago which had gotten her expelled from school. However, as of now she wasn't scared because she had her brother by her side. Well, that and she was covered up a lot more than last time when she had on only a bikini.
"Yeah... I guess we probably should go to the locker rooms. The blood on your clothes probably is attracting a lot of negative attention," Hikari said as she made her way to the men's locker room with Hikaru. She hadn't been to the bathroom all day since she didn't feel comfortable going in closed public places without her brother being around.
"I need to change tampons anyway."
