Brittany looked towards Veemon as he prepared himself for battle. She didn't know how this little guy would be able to take on such a large creature. This...Ogremon, was ten times his size, not to mention, in a blinding rage because he had been completely ignored. As she thought about this, she heard a voice calling for her attention.
"No time for thinking! Get out of here!"
Veemon looked at her with a serious expression, showing exactly how serious he was about her getting to safety. Why was he doing this? He never met this human in his life, yet he was willing to risk his life just to make sure she'd be ok. Maybe...no it couldn't be...
Just as the attack was about to fall upon his head, he pulled his arms towards his back, smirking as launched his himself towards the green monster's stomach.
"Vee-Headbutt!"
All the while, Brittany had moved herself to the side, doing her best to get some distance. But something caused her to look back, to see if Veemon was ok. She wasn't sure why she cared, it wasn't as if he was family, yet this small stranger had come to her rescue, the least she could do was watch to see if he'd be ok..

"Like that's going to work you little blue imp!" Ogremon shouted after his bone hit the ground without making contact with the Veemon. It was obvious just from the fact that there was no resistance that he had missed Veemon. Ogremon found this to be quite annoying. Why did Veemon have to dodge? It was going to be so much more difficult now.
"RAWGH!" Ogremon screamed as he felt Veemon hit him in the stomach. Regardless, he was being a little bit over dramatic. He was a champion, so Veemon's attack wasn't very lethal to him, nor was it even on par with his abilities. Using his left hand, Ogremon quickly attempted to grab Veemon's throat. After which he would hold him in the air, slowly attempting to choke the life out of the small blue monster.
"You weak little imp... Did you really think that you could protect her? I am going to kill you! But I want to take it nice and slow!" |

Veemon feet flapped in the air as he lifted his arms up towards the Ogremon's wrist. As hard as he tried, he couldn't get the monster to release his throat, which was slowly getting choked. Gasping for what air he could obtain, he held a serious expression that was slowly fading out of conciousness due to lack of oxygen in his lungs.
Brittany watched this in horror, Ogremon was killing him. She had to do something, but what? She was sure that hand to hand confrontation was out of the question, so then what option was left. As his attention seemed focused on Veemon, the teen looked towards a set of small steel trash can,each being continued by circular lids.
"Oh....crud..."
Veemon managed to get that much out, closing his eyes as he continued to struggle to gain his freedom, but it almost seemed pointless. His gaze would then look towards the distance as he watched the girl throw one trash can lid towards the ogre's head.
"Hey! Let him go!!!"
Brittany's tone was full of confidence, surprising considering how scared she had been only a few moments ago. Maybe it was just the thrill of such a challenge getting the better of her, or maybe she was just so tired of being scared of this jerk.

"Blaargh!"
Ogremon screamed as the girl continued to throw trash can tops at him. It was getting on his nerves as well. He looked away from the Digimon in his grasp and glared at the girl. It seemed she wished to die first, and if that was the case, Ogremon would be glad to grant that wish.
"Human! I don't see why you're in such a rush to die, but if that is what you will, then so be it! I'll dispose of you first!"
Ogremon quickly threw Veemon to the side where he would probably smash into the brick wall not too far away. He then started stepping toward Brittany, she had gotten on his bad side, and he wished to deal with her first.
"I've let you live too long! It's time to deal with you!" |

As Veemon was tossed to the side, his back made impact against the back wall of the alley, causing him to fall flat on his stomach. This now left Brittany without any help, she was on her own for now.
Stepping back as the creature approached, the girl kept the remaining lid within her arm, holding it as if it were a shield. Brittany wasn't sure how she would get out this one,especially when she considered the odds that were stacked against her. But she was tired of running, of being afraid of this thing, of everything! She was always complaining about her life not being exciting, yet whenever she got a chance to do something thrilling she would second guess herself, just like she was now.
"I think its too late to change my mind about this one..."
Thinking this, the teen then held a serious expression as she stood her ground. No matter what, she couldn't run away. Not this time.
The blue dragon watched this in pure awe. Was this human crazy or just too stunned to run? In any case, he had nothing but respect for her at this moment.
"Maybe...humans are as powerful as they say..."

Ogremon followed behind Brittany as she walked back. He noticed how she held up a garbage top as though that was going to protect her. Could she be so foolish? There was no way a human could think that such a trivial item could protect her from Ogremon's club. If he made contact, it would be a one-hit-k.o. and she had to know that as well. Ogremon couldn't stop himself from chuckling malicously as he followed her.
"Human.... This will be your demise..."
He raised his bone into the air just above her, taking only an extra moment to gaze into her eyes. He wanted to see her fear in the moment before he crushed her.
"Bone Cudgel!" quickly, the bone came down from above her. If nothing happened, she would be destroyed. This would be the end for her. |

Brittany held her ground, was she ready for what was to come? Hopefully, if not, then she would find herself becoming one with the pavement under her feet. Yet, as the Ogremon took a moment to look into her eyes, he wouldn't be able to find a trace of fear within her....Only confidence. Which was something that she usually never had, at least, not the actual kind that she was displaying at this moment.
Just as the club fell upon her, the girl quickly rolled to the side, throwing the lid towards the monsters face with a smirk. Though that pretty much did it for her defense, she was offically out of items to use against Ogremon. So now what?
"Oh boy...."
Her confident smirk faded quickly and was replaced with a fearful expression as she remained knelt on the ground, her eyes still upon the side of the creatures face. If anything, all she did was cause the beast to be even more upset towards her, which had proved already to be a bad thing. Then, she felt something under her hand, it was a strange device that she had never seen before in her life. Removing her gaze from the monster for a moment, she looked down to see exactly what it was.
"Huh?What is that?"
Veemon noticed her looking at something as well, blinking in a moment of confusion. But then, he realized what the object was and let his jaw drop slightly.
"It can't be.....A digi-vice?? But why would she..."
Things were starting to connect for the digimon, though he didn't think it was possible, it could only be explained by his feelings. Why he would jump in to protect a total stranger, why he was so willing to do anything within his power to defend her. Was she...his tamer?

"Nggh... She dodged it again! How irritating!"
Ogremon turned his head after she rolled to the side, his bone club crashed into the ground. She seemed rather agile and speedy... perhaps she was a gymnist? Regardless, Ogremon wasn't finished yet. This fight was only just beginning.
"But... what's that thing?!" Ogremon asked himself, seeing the strange device materialize before Brttany. Perhaps that device was somehow linked to the true power of a human. Now he knew that he would have to defeat her. He wanted her at the strongest of her ability so that when he absorbed her data, he would benefit the most.
"Regardless of what it is, I still must crush you!" |

Brittany quickly rose to her feet, holding the device close to her chest as she took one step back. Not that she could actually run anywhere now, she was pretty sure her feet wouldn't allow her that much movement. Though hearing his continued threats of crushing her wasn't exactly helping her either.
"Not a chance Ogremon!"
A shout emerged from behind the champion digimon as Veemon charged towards him, jumping into the air and attempting to slam his fist into the beast's face. He was sure that this wouldn't do too much damage, but maybe it would catch him off guard for a moment or two, then maybe he could get a better look at what that thing was in the girl's hands.

Just as Ogremon turned to face the sassy Digimon behind him, something he hadn't expected happened. The Digimon planted its fist in his face. A sucker punch like that was against the Ogremon code. Such an attack made him lose respect for his enemy.
"URRGH!! You don't play fair!" Ogremon shouted as he raised his left hand quickly before attempting to smash it down on his small Veemon-opponent. Veemon's attack wasn't so strong, but Ogremon had put a lot of strength into smacking Veemon now. |
