Shamanmon's commands proved to be indeed successful - they managed to halt a rout of an entire army, even for a short while. But he knew that was not going to last for long - the rocket barrages still hit hard, even if the losses were fewer now, but morale was indeed pretty low. And the enemy counterattack was threatening to break the weakened ranks of the barrier any moment now. This battle was lost, now his only concern was to save as many troopers as possible. Surrender was not an option - dinosaurs never took prisoners. A hard decision he had to make...
- First three ranks! Stand ground! - he ordered and the resilient dinos stopped in their tracks, halting the enemy's onslaught. It was just a matter of time before they would be broken anyhow, it mattered only how much time they'd win. They had to be sacrificed in order to save the rest - or else all would be lost. Shamanmon was one of few who did not far taking the blame, and responsibility for their loss.
- All others! Haste retreat! - he ordered, ad as soon as he did, the bulk of the forces started moving backwards, fortunately keeping enough coordination not to transform into a panicky mass of animals who would trample their own under feet in a vain attempt to save themselves. As they passed on, Shamanmon noticed their so-called leader was in the middle of the fight with the angel which descended from the skies.
- Should we help him? - one of the underlings asked.
- No... He brought this upon him... and us. Let him fend for himself. - Shamanmon replied thoughtfully, and continued coordinating the retreat into the woods. - And the rest would be better without you anyway. - he thought and sincerely wished for the paildramon to die here, and relief this world of his stupidity...
And speaking of Paildramon, his fighting was getting fiercer by the minute. Inability to hit the angel woman made his anger and irritation grew, as his attacks were becoming more frantic and filled with rage. he did not really expect darcmon to actually try a melee against him, considering he was armed and she was not, so he did not really have a chance of evading the sweeping kick. Fortunately for him, sweeping kicks were always a bit over-rated - the only way they would work was if they were aimed at a knee, and paidramon had his legs and knees armored against such attacks. Still, even through metal plate, it was not very pleasant, but he did not lose footing.
- Grrrr... - he growled and launched an X-shaped slash with both swords at the opponent, and prepared, should she escape and make distance, to fire his machine guns again, to spray the bullets in front of himself should she try making the same approach again...

The sweeping kick indeed landed on the target, but he truly honored his title as a dragon man digimon as his skin was as tough as a dragon's despite his in comparison small size in relation with other dragon digimon and endured the kick without falling on his back. However, the darcmon was no weakling and the kick had enough punch behind it to hurt the brutish digimon and piss him off.
No sooner the kick landed but failed to sweep the enemy, she quickly rolled on the ground to her left side and stand up to avoid any incoming attack. Then, while the paildramon attempted to perform a cross slash with her own swords, she flew above him and landed behind him while she summoned back her swords. In the best scenario, the dragon would fall on his back, pushed by the swords as they attempted to return to their owner behind the dragon man digimon. In the worst case he would be strong enough to control the push and feel nothing at all. Regardless of the outcome of that situation, the darcmon was ready to continue slowly tiring him down, his impatience and lack of self control caused him to waste more energy than needed in all his movements, and that would be his downfall.

- Stand still for a second why don't ya? - Paildramon roared as his cross-slash attack missed the enemy as she rolled over and then took flight to land behind him. The dragon wanted to hit her mid-air somehow, but was stopped as the swprd nearly slipped from his hand. - That the ...?! - he gasped as one of the swords slipped from his hand, going to return to the rightful master, but it was not enough to make him lose balance or anything - forse to pull a sword was not enough to drop a dino.
- I didn't need that can-opener anyhow... - he said as he extended the spike on his hand to compensate for a missing weapon - he was pretty proficient in dual wielding, and then performed a swift roundhouse slash with both of his weapons, aiming with the darcmon's sword at the head, while with the linger metal spike - at the waist...

"Finally you stopped underestimating me"
One of the reasons why she wasn't fighting seriously with the paildramon was due either he was too stupid to be a competent warrior or was underestimating her, but now he seemed to be getting serious. She knew well about what a digimon of his type was capable off and seeing him waste his time with useless attacks was quite insulting.
She retrieved her sword with her right hand and immediately took some flight to avoid the slash aimed at her waist while she parried the higher slash with the only sword she managed to recover. The paildramon was strong and almost made her lose the grip of her blade as his sword and hers slided hurting no one and if she were a regular darcmon she would've actually lost in that battle. However, she was a darcmon who driven by her desire for revenge pushed her body to its limits through hellish training and battles and reached the limits a darcmon had that would never be surpassed unless she evolved and increased the limits on her maximum power. That and the paildramon seemed to be one who never seriously cultivated his body through training and seemed to be comfortable with the innate power of a paildramon, he could have easily killed her in a matter of seconds if he training as hard as she did but with his average power he was an insult to other ultimate digimon.
Anyway, she successfully avoided being slashed by her own weapon and the paildramon's spike and examined her opponent to find any weakness in his defense: he was a subpar paildramon but he was still an ultimate digimon that got serious. A single error might cost her both victory and her life so she had to be extra careful now. He had at his disposition his two hip cannons, of which one wasn't completely operational and might jam again if used again, in one of his hands he had one of the darcmon's swords, he had a strong grip on it and trying to wrestle it free would be rather pointless, his other hand was equipped with an extended bone spike and it could easily be used as a dangerous stabbing weapon as it kinda failed as a edged cutting weapon. And at last he had his extending wired claws, this paildramon in particular hadn't used it yet, but Ciel knew that skilled paildramons were capable of using them for devastating results and they were the most dangerous weapons they could use again a digimon of her relatively small size: the moment she were caught by them it would be pretty much her end given that they were quite durable and he might kill her with his spike or the cannons if she were too slow or weak to break them with her own strength so she paid extra attention to them and made sure that in case of being caught, she had her sword in a position in which she could cut the wires without having to go through the extreme effort of having to expand her muscles to the limits in an attempt to break them with her body.

- Oh I'll show you serious! Eat steel! - the paildramon growled as he launched another attack at the irritating angel, using a style of sword and dagger - with the spike on his hand being the dagger. The idea was to lock in combat and entrap the sword with the dagger, and slash with another sword. Since the enemy did not attack back, he figured she was too dazzled or indecisive. He who attacks - wins, or so he was told.
Seeing how his first attack was parried, this time the stab attack was aimed at the chest - stabs were very difficult to block, but he figured she would evade and try a counterattack should he put full force into that stab, so in fact that one was sort of a faint - expecting a counter, the paildramon would quickly switch to defense should said counter take place. If not, he'd simply do the same move again, should the occasion arise...

She saw the spike coming, and to be fair it looked like it didn't have much effort behind it, that could only mean that either the paldramon was growing weaker or that the movement was a faint. The paildramon was expecting her to launch a counterattack and use that moment to strike her while she lowered her defenses, so she decided to continue playing the game of tiring the paildramon: she did indeed dodge the attack by moving aside at the nick of time but rather than launching a proper counterattack, she grabbed the arm with the stake and twisted it a little with her free hand for a fraction of second before sidestepping a little. She never expected any important damage to be caused, but at least his arm would feel a bit injured and if he tried more half-baked attacks, she would continue slowly hurting his limbs until he stopped.
That was the only way she had to fight against such an opponent. He was more than capable of enduring many hits due the toughness of the dragon race digimon, but the darcmon wasn't as resilient and any direct hit could end up badly injuring her, reason which she left nothing to luck and always prepared to dodge everything. She could ignore the pain as she was used to it in the case she were injured, but at the same time it was the ability to feel pain what told any living being when it was at its limits, and fighting while having a fatal injury could lead to death.

Ok, that did it, Paildramon was officially enraged now. He tried to do it the smartypants way, and it didn't work. he only had his hand strained a bit. How dare she not fall for his "grand idea?" Muttering curses and insults, he looked like he was turning to shoot his guns at her again, but then suddenly changed plans and simply dashed forward to her, guns shooting completely random as he charged. Upon being in range of blows, he launched a fury of slashes, stabs, kicks whatever, while still shooting in random without even aiming. He slipped a bit - too much anger.
- That did it, I'll beat the sh*t outta you! - he yelled as he dashed to attack, bullets flying above and at sides of the angel but not really at her due to misaim. Funningly enough, that had a brighter side - with such randomness she would not dare risking flying away with all these projectiles flying in the air, leaving her with only one choice - to face the enraged nemesis...

They say that no warrior is as dangerous as a berserker, and that is right. Berserkers traded off their instinct for survival for unstoppable and furious bursts of energy, and the paildramon had enter in a state of berserk rage: his attacks lost any sort of order and were incredibly powerful and fast albeit random and inaccurate.
The female angel was no longer able to predict attacks with such randomness and was running out of options as the paildramon furiously charged against her wildly shooting everywhere. There was no place where to move, no place where to run away so she decided to perform a final attack and fly at max speed in a straight line against the paildramon beautifully avoiding as many gunshots as possible prepared to deliver a powerful full speed stabbing attack. It was quite the gamble, but if she succeed she would win and if she failed and the enemy dodged her attack ... well, at least even if she were to get hurt by one of those random attacks, at such speed she could would get away from him and crash in a place away enough from him to try a new strategy and recover.

The paildramon saw the angel coming straight at him, of course, or, better to say, his eyes saw it. But brain ignored pretty much their screams of "INCOMING DAMAGE! DODGE YOU SICK BASTARD!", being consumed and dazed by blinding rage - the paildramon was always of short temper - triggering the ax-crazy psycho mode was one of his ways of winning a battle when other things sucked balls. Like this one for instance.
He showed complete disregard for personal safety, and charged head on at the incoming blade, not even thinking about dodging, or parrying. When the angel was close, he thrust both his spines at her in the last moment, when it was too little room to react in any kind of way, going by strategy of "Taking you with me". The next moment he felt the blade going into the body somewhere below his shoulder. Eyes were blinded with pain, so he did not see if his own stab attacks impaled the enemy or no, but he instinctively grabbed the hand that was holding the sword stuck in his body, and attempted a last stab at the enemy with what remained of his strength...

Ouch, those energy bullets hurts like hot coal being pushes into your bare skin! Even with her skillful self-control and high maneuverability, the darcmon was unable to dodge all incoming bullets and at least ten of them hit her in random areas of her body causing a burning pain in her skin.
Never mind that, she was prepared to endure any damage and continued diving against the paildramon at a slightly slower speed given that one of the energy bullets hit one of her wings and pained by the impact, she had to slightly move slower as not to strain her wounded wing. And then it happened, her sword finally reached its destination as it comfortably rested in an area of the dragon man's body between his heart/digicore and his shoulder, such severe wound wasn't something to ignore and while not fatal, it would drastically lower his fighting potential.
Such intense pain would've stopped a normal digimon, but the berserked paildramon was drunk with adrenaline and completely ignored the soul crushing pain in favor of attempting to stab her with his powerful spikes. Alas, he caused no harm as he failed to hit any vitals and instead one of his stakes completely missed the target while the other .... well, it grazed the darcmon's breast protector and snapped it out of place, that pervert!
Nevermind, the paildramon had more than enough energy to continued despite the horrible stab wound and to ensure the darcmon couldn't escape from retribution, he grabbed the hand holding the sword and prepared to deliver a final stab. The angel digimon was unable to escape from the strong grip of the injured digimon and attempted to dodge the stabbing attack by swinging her own body to the left side of the paildramon as it was her right arm the one immobilized by her foe. She could get stabbed in one of her shoulders by doing that, but it was at least better than getting stabbed right into the face or in the chest.
