Jeri continued to watch as she couldn't even bring herself to move. It appeared that the screams and the sight alone had reminded her of the fear lurking deep inside of her. She couldn't think of what to do, or what to say. Nohemon was really hurt and if something wasn't done soon, it might get worse. But just as she was about to finally move, she watched as the Coelamon beheaded the puppet digimon, causing Jeri to cover her mouth as she turned her head away from the sight.
Oh my god......Nohemon.......
Feeling her body shaking as she felt the memories of watching Leomon's death rush back to the surface of her mind, the girl fell to her knees as she continued to look away from the scene. It appeared that Jeri wasn't going to be able to help anymore. Her mental state wouldn't allow it, and her memories kept her from moving. She didn't scream or do anything. Her cries were muffled as she wept quietly, trying her best to pull herself together.
All the while, Gatomon still remained in the fight, dodging the now blinded fish as it attempted to try and seek her out. It seemed that she'd have to handle things from here. While she felt bad for the Nohemon, she wasn't going to let herself get broken up about it. Such was life, it was live or die. Though she respected the digimon, she prefer to keep herself and her tamer in one piece for the moment. But it seemed that this would be a better time than any to finish this, so launching herself towards the creature's side, the feline reeled her fist back as she attacked again.
"Lets end this....Lightning Paw!"

The fight raged on as Nohemon's puppet slowly disappeared into shards of data. Gatomon was hitting the blinded Coelamon hard, slashing deeper and deeper into it's back, meaning to reach for the backbone and break it. The monster dashed and rolled around, but was unable to get the feline from behind, and felt how the claws went through it's meat with every blow. The primal rage was driving the vile thing, but it was to no avail - blinded and wounded, the giant fish could not win. Not today.
One of the blows finally slashed through the last layer of muscles, revealing the white vertebral column. The next blow broke the bone, making the Coelamon suddenly stop it's vane and powerless rage, freezing in it's tracks, before falling unto the ground with a heavy sound. After receiving this paralyzing, and, thus fatal blow, the monster of the sea was defeated. It breathed heavily for a little while, particles of data slowly disappearing, before finally the form collapsed into a pile of data shards for the victor to consume... The nightmare was finally over...
The crow wasn't even able to watch the battle, her head dangling on shoulders lifelessly - that hit Coelamon landed on it hurt ... badly. Many bones were broken, and she wasn't able to move, and even breathing was difficult - the broken ribs were obstructing the lungs, or whatever was there instead of them inside. And, with the pupped destroyed, there was nothing it could do anyhow, besides trying to call out for someone...
- Kid... hey ... kid... Over here... - she tried to call as loud as she could, her last sentence ending in a bloody coughing...

Jeri heard the faint cry, turning her head slowly as she saw the small bird, blinking as she continued to hold her fearful expression. What was she to do? Should she answer it's call? Had it not been because of her that the digimon was suffering? Everything seemed to end up being due to her, and it all seemed to end in tragedy. But, she couldn't ignore the dying monster, not after all it had done to help her and Gatomon.
Biting her bottom lip, Jeri rose up slowly from the ground, walking towards the small digimon as she knelt down upon the sand at it's side. She looked it over and could see that it was badly hurt. Turning her gaze away from it, she closed her eyes as she tried to fight back her tears as she slowly side down both sides of her face. Balling her hands into fists as they laid upon her bended knees, the girl managed to say one statement while struggling to keep from crying.
"I'm sorry......"
Gatomon wasn't too far away, watching this as she could see her tamer in her grief. Though she couldn't understand it. Just what was she upset about? It wasn't as if she knew the digimon or anything. In fact, there was still a chance that it had been trying to kill her before the fight had interrupted it's attempts. Yet, there the girl was in tears.
"Humans are so confusing..."
Crossing her paws over her chest, she absorbed the data from Coelamon while she continued to watch Jeri from where Coelamon once laid.

- Khe... khe... Don't say stupid things... The puppet was destroyed... I charged into an attack... when not suited for combat... And got nailed... How is any of this your fault? Kho... kraaa... I didn't call you to hear apologies... - the crow replied and coughed again. Even close to deletion, she didn't lose her snarky attitude, willing to point out her own mistakes that lead to this ... mess.
- My spleen is ... broken... As well as wings... I will survive for half of a day, as maximum... Kho... Don't want to wait that long... Hurt ... quite a bit. He-he... So ... could you ... you know, finish the job? When deleted ... digimon get a second chance ... to life, so ... why not sooner? Mercy kill? - the crow sighed out. To put it plainly, she wished for Jeri, or her digimon, to finish her off.
- There should be an Aesop to this one... Don't allow ... feelings get into you ... during a fight. I felt rage when ... puppet was destroyed, and look what happened. A lesson ... this is. Don't let it happen to ... you. A fighter keeps a cool head... or loses it.

The girl's eyes widened as she continued to listen. But what she heard made her shake her head with fear in her eyes. The digimon wanted her to kill him, to end its pain. But, she couldn't do that. Maybe she could still help him! Or perhaps one of the others could do something. There just wasn't anyway she could kill the digimon that had risked so much to help her.
"I...I can't! There has to be a way to help you...I'll...I'll talk to one of my friends! They'll be able to help you and make you better!"
Rubbing away her tears as she smiled towards the wounded crow, the young girl didn't see Gatomon walk up beside her with a calm expression. The feline had heard everything, looking at the digimon with a serious gaze as she closed her eyes. The cat was silent, knowing full well that anything that could be done for the creature, wouldn't be enough. This world just didn't have the resources to heal of digimon that was this badly hurt. As such, there was only one thing to do.
"Gatomon...We have to....What are you doing?"
"Lightning Paw!"
Raising her paw up into the air, she quickly slammed it down into the bird's chest, hoping that it would end it's pain swiftly and not cause it any more. Jeri just stared on in horror as she couldn't believe what her partner had just done.

The crow didn't even flinch when the Gatomon's claws went straight through her heart, and even tried to sport a smile when the attack hit. She enjoyed her stay in this world, and it was unfortunate it had to end in such a way. But still, she had no regrets - she did get a second chance to life, to be reborn back at the primary village as a digitama. The unending cycle of death and rebirth.
- Digimon get to reborn... Humans don't... So be careful... and goodbye ... friend... Don't regret ... learn... - those were the last words as the digimon dissapeared into particles of data.

Jeri couldn't speak, she just watched as the crow faded into the data. Gatomon watched as well, not looking at Jeri as she knew that the girl was likely to be upset with her. But then, the digimon had no regrets for what she had done. The creature received an noble end when it came down to it. If they had done nothing, it would have simply suffered for no reason, making them just as evil as Coelamon.
"Gatomon.....Why....Why did you do that?"
"Because there was no way we could help, and it wanted the pain to end...."
The feline closed her eyes as she wasn't sure if there was any better way to explain her methods. In the end, it was all but done. There was nothing more that could be done at this point, but from what she could hear, Jeri couldn't accept that. The girl shouted towards her, telling there was another way. That just killing him was wrong. Was there any point in arguing with her tamer? Gatomon just remained silent, looking into the night as she heard the girl rise up from the sand before turning away.
"Jeri.......Life goes on for digimon...You know that....If you allow every death to affect you, you'll find yourself hurting every day...o.k?"
The young girl didn't answer, she just kept walking. Another creature died before her, another friend was gone due to her inability to act in time. Another chance to be stronger was wasted on her fear. Was Leomon wrong all this time? Did she really have a lion's heart? Was it destiny that revolved around everyone? If so, then maybe it was her destiny....to fail....
