Meiji shrine, at 23:14 HS. This place usually used by humans to worship their deities and pray for their blessing become enveloped by a fog that acted as the herald of a being of holiness who arrived to the human world descending from the heavens as a pillar of light dispelled the clouds of this cloudy night and opened the path to led the holy into the soil of this sacred land.
"In this place the thousand year kingdom of justice shall be created, may the kingdom of god have it's doors open only to the worthy ones"
The heavenly figure, now revealed to be a being of digital holiness known as angemon, stepped out of the light that guided him to the shrine and with his fist full of self-righteousness, he emitted a beam of light that smashed one of the sacred stones covered with amulets that decorated the shrine for they were made to worship what angemon felt were "fake gods"
"Such is the hypocrisy of the humans, to worship fake gods created by their weakness to fool themselves believing they would save them. Begone foul creations of weak willed creatures, return to the earth which you were created from, for the strong and rightful needs not artificial idols!"
For this angemon those "fake gods" were nothing but a proof of humanity's weakness, it was his holy duty to crush this weakness and create a kingdom where only the joust and the pure lived, a justice brought by might rather than mercy for strength is justice and he had plenty of power, enough to destroy this shrine of fake gods. If not stopped, the damage he was causing to this shrine would go from one that could be mistaken as simple vandalism to complete destruction and rebirth as angemon's kingdom of light, made in heaven.

Another night, another spawn. It seemed that digimon picked up time to appear only at night, so that they would not be seen by humans, and could go about their business undisturbed. Foolish such thoughts were, if this was the case, for there was always someone watching, actually, a lot of someones. Ever vigilant 24 hours per day seven days per week, Hypnos kept a watchful eye on every corner, in order to protect humanity from these monsters. What happened 2 years ago was still fresh in mind...
... Larry and Renee arrived at the sacred shrine soon after they received a call from TACCOM. The digimon had spawned somewhere at Meiji Shrine, and had to be deal with before it could do any damage to the sacred grounds - it was a symbol for the folk, and Hypnos was afraid something bad would be done to it. As it proved, their fears were founded...
- Holy crap... Literally... - Larry gasped quietly as he and his digimon observed the angel blasting the tombstones, amulets, and altars that were all around the place. They were hiding behind what looked like a monument of sorts, concealed from the wrathful digimon's eyes. - Maybe we should call for reinforcements... - he whispered and wanted to switch the radio on, but Renee held his hand.
- No need, Laurence. I can handle the fly-boy myself. We clip his wings and he's done for. - she sounded confident, or, better to say, arrogant. She really thought she could take on a champion by herself. Although Larry had doubts about it, he decided to let the battle-hungry fox have it her way this time. She was denied from killing something for a long time anyhow.
- Alright, but be careful. We'll take a standard plan: while he's busy blowing stuff up, you can sneak behind him, and ... I'll give you something nice to shoot him with. That would give you a head start. The fog from his digivolution didn't disappear yet, it will cloak your movements... - the young man said, and the renamon nodded. While he stayed in cover, undetected, she covertly sneaked around the flying digimon, wanting to get a better shot at him. Once she were in position, Larry slashed a card through the digivice, and Renee's hand got replaced with a brutal digicannon, which was able to pack quite a punch. Renamon aimed it right in the digimon's back, and, without saying anything, shot. She didn't have a habit of calling her attacks...
------------- Name: DigiCannon Duration: 2 Posts Color: Gold Effect: The Digimon who is modified by this card will have an arm/tail or some other body part transformed into Gorillamon's Cannon, or will altogether grow a limb for the cannon. This will allow the Digimon to use Gorillamon's Gorilla Cannon attack and fire a Champion Level blast from the cannon.

Unaware of the pair of heathens and their ill intentions towards him, the angemon preached a gospel of destruction within the shrine and only stopped when courtesy of a Renamon's coward attack, he was hit in the back, thus interrupting his holy mission
"Heathens, hellspawn, treacherous and coward attacks do not work on a servant of the true justice!"
The angemon was now aware of the enemy concealed within the fog for he was no fool and only another digimon could've caused him such pain. He looked at the direction from which emerged the source of his pains and spun his staff with such vigor that generated a powerful, divine whirlwind that easily dispelled the fog in the area, removing the cover used by those infidel heretics and probably injuring them with the shredding might of heaven's winds.
"Heaven closes it's door to those with impure thoughts, reveal yourself sinful ones and pray that in death you find salvation!"
He hadn't exactly pinpointed the location of whoever attacked him, but he was sure the enemy of true justice was still there, hiding like a rat under the veil of night.

Renee couldn't feel but chuckle, hearing the wrathful words of a dismayed angel - he sounded like a conglomerate of cheesy monologues used by templars in old history - based films. Instead of stating what he will do if he gets his hands on her, he indulged in long and senseless babbling. This was going to be a sinch, or so the renamon thought.
Suddenly, a vortex of wind appeared out of nowhere - the angel wished to deny her foggy cover to hide in - so be it. Renee could handle an open fight anyway. But she decided to use the shot she had, while the still had the chance, because Angemon was busy with his staff twirling, and she, plunging her feet deep into the ground for extra stability, and not to get sucked in by the vortex, aimed her cannon at the holy digimon once more... And opened fire.
- Yes, in your death we will find salvation. Bring it, crazy Jesus. - she said without flinching before the mighty Angemon, standing firm as last of her cover was sucked in by the digimon's vortex thingy. Larry, in the meanwhile, hid behind the tombstone, not looking out from his shelter, and was redying another card to use...

"Fool, no trick works twice with me!"
The angelic digimon simply swatted away the plasma energy from the gorillamon cannon with his rod as soon he noticed it and immediately retaliated with the brilliant evil slaying power of his hand of fate. That renamon was an incredible fool, she made of herself an immobile target and now other than teleporting or deploying some sort of barrier, there was no way for her to escape unscratched from the beam of light for the speed at which it traveled was superior to the speed a digimon of her kind could achieve due: A-she rooted herself into the floor, and B-With zero acceleration, she couldn't speed up enough to avoid the attack.
"Begone!"
Regardless of the outcome of his attack, a small cloud of dust appeared where the powerful beam of light impacted. The angemon was confident that his attack completely deleted the foul fox of poisonous tongue, but his experience fighting against dirty fighters like her taught him that she could've used yet another dirty trick to avoid his holy punishment and prepare to launch another treacherous and coward attack, so he continued paying plenty of attention to his surroundings and the dust cloud just in case the sinful vulpine survived his attack.

The not-so-clever-plan, as it proved to be later on, didn't succeed at all - the angemon prved to be a less gullible fighter as Renee expected him to be, and he saw right through her little tactic. With reflexes to swat away a projectile, he could have played as a pro baseball star, though, obviously, he was more interested in smiting evil than in being a sportsman.
Renee realized her mistake when the Angemon launched a holy beam attack against her. Due to her immobile position, it was impossible to dodge the beam of sacred light, and she could not allow herself to take such a hit directly, Seeing no other options, she ducked as low to the ground as possible, evading a direct hit, but she would likely be caught in the blast wave.
Larry watched the battle from afar, and frowned. Renee was about to get nailed, and he didn't quite have the cards to help her through her mistake - he didn't have any teleports, or barriers whatsoever, for Renee usually didn't make mistakes like that one - her mobility was her advantage, it was not like her to forfeit it so quickly. He slashed a card to give his digimon extra scales to withstand the attack, or at least take a bit less damage. When he did, a set of armadillo scales appeared on Renee's back and paws, as she quickly scrunched into a form of a ball.
The explosion that followed sent her flying away, hitting a gravestone, bringing it down from the sheer force of impact. But those scales, which dissapeared shortly after, did their work - the fox was a bit battered, but still alive. And she was not going to forgive the angel for this hit. She never knew what forgiveness was in the first place.
- I'll make you pay for that... - she growled, and summoned a barrage of crystals, launching it at the unflinching foe. - Diamond storm! - she exclaimed, aiming not at the body, that one should have been a tough cookie, but the more fragile wings, meaning to cut them down, and force the flying bastard to the ground...

Soon the cloud dust dissipated, but neither the renamon's floating data nor the digimon herself were in the impact site, obviously she somehow escaped and now she was hiding again somewhere in this large shrine.
"You can hide but not escape from me, cunning vixen!"
The angemon continued patrolling the shrine area from the skies at 4 meters above the floor, the whisper of the wind and the noise of the falling leaves dancing at the rhythm of the nighttime wind being his only companions, and then this monotony of sounds was interrupted by the anger-filled voice of the hidden vixen which announced her attack, a mistake that could as well cost her life for she inadvertently told him of her whereabouts.
"There you are!"
The angelical digimon turned back and faced the source of the voice. At first he thought it was going to be some sort of large energy blast like the previous attack, but this time it was a large amount of crystal shards he guessed were approximately 30 or 40 in number. Rather than striking it like he did with the gorillamon cannon attack, he vigorously spun his powerful rod to create some sort of pseudo shield that shattered any shard that collided with it until the danger was gone and he could clearly see the beast digimon.
"Enough of hide and seek games, may the sword of light pierce the pitch black night!"
To make sure she could no longer conceal her presence under the veil of darkness now that he knew her precise location, he ascended even higher into the sky and overloaded his very body with light energy until he started to irradiate pure light that made the night as brilliant as the day in a wide area of 20 meters around angemon. He truly looked like a messenger sent by heaven as he expanded his wings to spread darkness dispelling light.
"With the darkness gone, now it's the time for light to bring justice to this land of sinners!"
He finally had a clear view of the renamon, and she was indeed affected by his hand of fate, her body covered by dirt and visibly injured, although how serious were the injured it was a mystery. He was more than ready to destroy once for all his foe when he noticed from his advantageous position above the shrine something that looked like a bulk behind one of the tombstones, which was strange because no other tombstones had bulks next to them.
"More enemies of justice!"
He shouted as he released yet another hand of fate where what seemed to be another enemy lied. Due the sheer distance between the angel and the target, his accuracy suffered and the beam of light barely grazed the tombstone and completely missing the actual target, although from angemon's point of view, it looked like it was a direct hit that caused yet another cloud dust and chipped part of the tombstone that landed outside the dust-obscured area, giving the impression of the tombstone being completely reduced to pieces and the target being completely deleted if it actually existed.
"Must've been my imagination ..."
He wasted no more time in what he considered a product of his imagination and quickly descended until he was barely four meters above ground level to make sure the next time he fought against the renamon, he were near enough to engage into close quarter combat and punish her with furious rod strikes for this long range battle was a war of attrition and wasted a lot of his precious time and energy.

Larry barely managed to hit the dirt when the shinig angel digimon released a ray of light at his direction, going right above his head, resulting in an explosion that devastated few tombstones behind. - Holy sh*t - he thought, carefully peering out from his not so safe cover. Renee seemed to have taken some hits - she didn't look too well. - Goddammit, I knew I should have called for reinforcements... We need to pull back... - he thought and slashed a card through his device, a one that would help Renee escape her flying foe, however, he did not expect it to turn out the way it did...
The renamon stood firmly before her enemy, not flinching, she was not afraid to fight on, not yet. So far her overconfidence, border-lining with arrogance, managed to silence the instinct of self-preservation, and the voice of reason. But when she saw he angel launching a beam at where her tamer was hiding, she ... lost it. Her eyes widened for a moment, before her face changed from relatively calm to one somebody should run away from... Nobody attacks her tamer, and lives through it...
- I am going to enjoy gutting you... - she hissed, and, after feeling the effect of a flight card, launched herself against the incoming digimon, wishing to get close enough to tear out his limbs from sockets, gouge out his eyeballs, break his spleen, crack his skull and other bones she could get her hands on. She thought she'll be abe to man-handle such a ferocious opponent, not realising how far-fetched that one is...
Larry watched in horror the two digimon collide in a horrible clash. - Renee you foolish girl! I gave you flight to run away from him, not attacking him! Damn I kew we should have asked for reinforcements in the first place... - he exclaimed and immediately switched the radio on. A few minutes later a contact was established, and a familiar emotionless voice was heard:
- Report in, Stalker 1. What is the situation?
- SNAFU, TACCOM! Send somebody here now! A battlechopper, two if possible ! - he practically screamed in the radio, trying to outshout the sounds of battle that raged outside. The operator didn't expect such a harsh esponse, and it took her a few seconds to comprehend everything...
- ... roger that, Stalker 1. Ghost 24 will get to your position in T minus 6 minutes. - it finally replied. 6 minutes... I have a feeling these will be long 6 minutes... I'm not sure if we will be able to hold for that long... -------------
Name: Fly Away Duration: 5 Posts Color: Gold Effect: The Digimon acquires the Special Ability "Fly". This will give the digimon the ability to fly. Digimon may gain wings when this card is used, but the transformation is different from digimon to digimon. This card has no effect on a digimon who is already has the ability to fly.

"Ha, knave!"
If the renamon thought that going melee against the angelical digimon was a good idea only because he limited himself to shoot beams of light, she was dead wrong. The angemon was not a one trick pony and actually was even more fearsome from close range than from long range.
"Smite my foes with the fury of the heavens, my sacred rod!"
The angemon unleashed a powerful sequence of rod swings at the renamon, if she were to attempt to block them with her limbs, she would find that those strikes packed a lot of punch and would injure her arms and legs if she tried to defend herself, the only escape was to either disrupt his attack or dodge them for tanking the hits would be the worst scenario possible for the vulpine digimon.
The only consolation for the fox digimon was that the angemon still didn't know at all about her human partner, and their teamwork was the only thing that could stop this fearsome foe.

Renee did expect the angel to be a formidable melee fighter, after all, not everyone can block all of her crystal shards with a rod like he did, which meant she was in for a good fight. Still, she was a better warrior in close-quarters, or at least she thought she was. With that thought, she launched herself in an attack against incoming digimon.
There was no time to evade the blow coming at her, but Renamon didn't want to evade it anyway. The hit was severe, and very painful, but the fox indured, gritting her teeth, and catching the blow with her hands. She could barely feel them afterwards, but at least the rod was now deadlocked in her hands, which would not let go under any circumstance. With that in mind, she gather all her strength, and attempted to tear the staff from the angel's hands, meaning to shove it up his ..., err, nevermind, if she were to suceed...
Larry watched the battle raging from afar, hiding behind the tombstone. He wasn't able to help Renee out with anything, all his cards were good for sudden attacks and camouflage, not for head-on fight. Well, that was not exactly true... There was one more thing he can do - and he was considering doing it right now. He reloaded his gun and sighed heavily. If he were to shoot, he would disclose his position, and he wasn't sure if that will even scratch the digimon. They had to hold on for 5 more minutes, and he wasn't sure if Renee will survive that long. And help would unlikely arrive from elsewhere...
