There was barely any light left in the sky, the setting sun had left a orange haze over head, and the sun was already half way hidden behind Tokyo Hall. Jeri wasn't exactly excited about coming to this part of the city, but Mr.Smith had promised her that Leomon would be here. So for that chance, she was willing to face any danger. Of course, this meeting came at a cost.
She had agreed to work with Hypnos, to help them in their task of protecting the world for Digimon. Though she prayed that they wouldn't have her killing any for no reason. Death had already made a permanent circle around her life, to be apart of it would truly make her sick to her stomach. But, she had no serious regrets in the choice she was making. Though the girl did feel that she had upset someone close to her. If they were on talking terms, she would have said sorry by now. Yet after the feline had called her an idiot and played endless pranks upon her family, jokes that she had to take blame for, she wasn't talking to her.
Not that this matter to Gatomon, for she was still having a conversation, even if it was to a silent partner.
"Not too late to say sorry and get us home? I mean, we're going into a dark warehouse just to meet a fake digimon. In fact, I'm betting that it took three days only because they had to train him to say more than just your name...You know? Like how they train parrots?"
Jeri ignored Gatomon, trying her best to stay focused on where she was going. After all, this was the first time she had every come to the slums without her father. He had told her how dangerous it was, and that she was forbidden to go there. It was funny how many places she was forbidden to go, and yet she went there anyway. For a girl who was supposed to be good, she did a lot of bad things.
"Still playing the quiet game huh? Fine...but I'm not sorry. Just where to you plan to put him if he is there? Your closet!? Yea, I'm sure a big monster like Leomon will love living inside such a cramped living space. Should be just enough room in there for him to hunch down and stay quiet. You're mom will never know he's there, she'll just thing hes a large doll you got from the fair..."
Gatomon continued to talk in a sarcastic tone, keeping her paws behind her head as she walked along side Jeri. Despite her talk, the feline was nervous too. If this was a trap, she could likely be facing the same fate that those other digimon faced when confronted by Hypnos. The cat wasn't too keen with the idea of having herself full of bullet holes. Though her grim thoughts were silenced as she looked up towards the dimly lite factory before them.
Jeri stepped back as she could see small streams of smoke escaping into the air from smoke stacks upon its ceiling. There appeared to be no one there, but there was light coming from a small glass window. Someone had to be there, but was it who she was expecting to see? Breathing out, Jeri tightened her grip upon her book bag as she started to walk towards the building. This was it. She would finally make everything better. Jeri would have Leomon again, and she'd be able to help everyone.
Though in the back of her mind, she thought of about the others. What would they think about this? What would Takato think? She didn't want to be a burden anymore, and this really felt like the only way she could stop being seen as a breakable doll. But what if she was wrong? If Gatomon was right in this being a trap, she could very well be ruining everything for each one of her friends. Not just them, but her family could be put in danger as well, and Gatomon too?
Is this...is this really what I want?
Her expression was a serious one, while her thoughts were unsure of what to do? But as her hand reached the latch on the door, Jeri had made her choice by entering inside.
Gatomon rolled her eyes as she followed close behind, preparing herself for the worst.

An abandoned warehouse. Cliche location for all shady deals to be made - nobody ever walked there, and they had that unmistakable aura about them, one that will make anyone wary and longing for a gun. Larry did not choose it because of the latter qualities, but because of one former... He figured to keep Jeri with minimum knowledge about Hypnos as possible. She will not know codes, passwords, locations of safehouses etcetera. She'd only participate in operations with the rest of digiops. Tis also why she was to be met at a safe house. Larry did not come alone, however, with him there were ... several people...
- Grrr... If this is some sort of trick, you cunning human, I am going to... - a low growl was heard from one of the shady ... figures behind him. Leomon was not in good spirits, quite the contrary actually. They told him they'd bring his tamer to him, but this looked so very, very suspicious. He did not trust Hypnos either, from his first seconds of life actually. And agreed not to attack only because he was promised to see Jeri.
- You're gonna do nothing. - Larry retorted, his voice filled with venom. He hated this clone. Hated with every fiber of his soul. That clone tried killing him, because of that clone he was here, because of his existence he was doing what he did now. The young man had no condolences about killing digimon, good or bad, young or old, but so cruelly manipulating a human child ... this was beneath him. - Try something, and these two guys behind you will kill you in a heartbeat, then you'll never see your tamer again. - this threat made the leomon growl again, but he did not say anything. He was their prisoner, of sorts, bound to them. And two black-masked soldiers with guns that looked like giant tazers were there to insure it. So far, electricity was the most damaging thing against digimon, and Hypnos was slowly developing personal arms to be more efficient than standard issue kinetic weapons.
He soon heard the door opening. She was here alright, he knew she'd come. A ray of light went from the opened doorway, lighting things up for a little. Larry's own glasses and the two soldier's visor lenses reflected it back, looking like glowing orbs. - Told you it wasn't a trick, you walking carpet. - Larry said sneeringly. As for leomon, he just failed to say anything besides:
- Jeri...?

Coming out of the bright light of the setting sun, Jeri's figure came into view. Though as the light behind her faded with the closing door, the girl stood there in confusion as she looked around. This warehouse was pretty empty, nothing but old boxes and rusted machines. While from all appearances outside, this place had been inactive for some time. But then, maybe she shouldn't have been too surprised. This part of Tokyo wasn't the most prosperous.
"Hello? Mr...Smith?....."
Looking around to try and see someone, her eyes finally set upon the agent. A nervous expression then crossed her face as she could see three dark figures behind him. That sight alone was enough to make her take one step back. Had this really been a trap?
"Now you say something...Too bad its a little late. Looks like it was a set up. Just like I...said it was. So...whose butt do I kick first?"
Gatomon stood beside Jeri, smirking as she slammed her balled up paws into one another. It seemed that she didn't have anything to worry about after all. Jeri wasn't going anywhere, and she was likely to be praised with tuna for a week and endless apologies. Life was truly grand.

- Nobody's. - a statement came out as a reply for the gatomon's somewhat violent threats. Not that they made the men of Hypnos waver or anything, after all, they were the guys with the guns around here. Plus, they have kept their end of the bargain, now didn't they? Everything was fair, and besides, what would Hypnos acquire by setting up some girl with digimon? Nothing, that's for sure.
With that Leomon stepped into the light. Said light was dim, but it was possible to see who he was. A tall, strapping, muscular digimon, with an ever-serious expression on his face. Even a clone, he never changed much. One had to admit, for this one, the scientists worked good. As his eyes set upon the girl, ... he said nothing, nothing needed to be said, for a smile that appeared on his face was speaking for him better than any words.
- Sorry about bringing the soldiers around, but ever since this guy made some holes in my coat I'm not approaching him without someone to back me up... - Larry shrugged, interrupting the touching reunion.
- You won't have to worry about that anymore, ... agent Smith. Now, that I'm reunited with my tamer, I doubt we will encounter each other again... - the leomon replied upon approaching the girl and placing a hand on her shoulder, completely ignoring gatomon, as if she were an empty placeholder.
- Actually ... you're wrong fur-ball, we will encounter often. We and Jeri had a deal, you see... - Larry sounded rather sly at the moment. Leomon blinked and then looked at the girl with a questioning glare. - What deal?
---------------
(( Ok, from now on u post for leomon. I suck at reunion scenes. He's all yours. ))

Jeri couldn't say anything, she just held her hand close to her heart and stared towards the digimon that she knew too well. All other noise was tuned out. He was really there wasn't he? The only reason she questioned her eyes was because they had seen him die. But Leomon was only feet away from her, staring at her.
Jeri hadn't heard what Laurence had said, before she knew it she had already cut the distance between them and had wrapped her arms around the digimon. Burying her head into his chest, she cried as she said his name and continued to hold him tight. The girl had no intention of letting go, hoping that this moment would last forever.
"Jeri...."
"Im sorry...I just had to make sure you were real this time....Leomon..."
The Champion stood silent, extending his hand out to gently stroke the girl's face with his finger. Then, he smiled as he let her continue to hug him. He wasn't sure what to say either, just what had Jeri agreed to? What other kind of affair could these humans have in store for them?
While the two old friends continued with their reunion, Gatomon watched from the entrance, open jaw and in amazement. The guy looked like a Leomon, he even smelled like one. But he wasn't any kind of digimon. Not if he was a clone of some kind. Though Jeri seemed to be negating the creature's question, the feline had no intention of letting her off so easy.
"The deal she made with Hypnos....To see you, she has to work for them....So yea...feel lucky..."
Leomon turned his gaze away from Jeri to look at Gatomon with a calm expression. Was this true? Did Jeri get mixed up with this character because of him?
"I see...."

- Indeed, she had made a deal to work for us. You did not expect us to resurrect you for no purpose did you? The digimon are invading, and this time in greater numbers and much more hostile intentions. We need as many digimon on our side as we can get to fight them back. You're one of them. - Larry explained as he left the shadow as well, followed silently by the two troops behind him. Something was seen in his hands - it was ... another digivice. Black one with blue buttons. All Hypnos - made digivices were black. There was also a headpiece to be plugged into the ear - for communication between others.
- There. Your digivice. And congratulations on becoming 5th member of our DigiOp squad. They will watch your back and fight alongside you. Very nice people, at least most of them. Think of 'em as our own version of what you and your friends pulled out during the first digimon incursion... - he gave a short explanation of what she will be obliged to do from now on. His tone showed he would not take any objections - they had a deal after all, and Hypnos knew how to make people hold to their end of the bargain...

A growl escaped from Leomon as Laurence drew closer, but he did not attack. As much as he wanted to object to this, this had been Jeri's choice. She had given up this much just to have her back, though what costs would this action bring in the end? Working for these humans wasn't what he wanted to do, but he would anything for Jeri.
Jeri removed herself from Leomon only to reach out and take the new Digi-vice and ear piece. There was something about it though, it just felt weird. When she had receieved her Digi-vice, it had arrived with a warm feeling behind it. This one didn't come with such a feeling. It felt cold, lifeless. But if she had this one, what would she do with the other one? Keep it? Throw it away? The girl didn't know how to respond, so she just nodded as she then looked up towards Leomon with a small smile.
Was she actually smiling about this? Gatomon couldn't think what there was to be cheerful about. The girl had basically given her soul over to a devilish corporation, and for what? A replica of a digimon? The feline didn't care what memories it may of had, it was still a fake. He was as real as that black digi-vice. What made it worse was that she actually felt jealous, like her position was really about to be taken away from her. Was she really going to lose Jeri?
Not if I have anything to say about it...
In her thoughts, she hadn't even realized that Jeri had pulled Leomon over to her. The girl seemed to have already begun introductions, leaving Leomon standing before her with a calm expression. Gatomon didn't say anything, simply looking up at the lion diigmon with a blank stare.
"I understand that you have been looking after Jeri in my absence. I am truly grateful for what you have done...."
So this was his method of getting rid of her. He planned to thank her and then say that her service was no longer required. Gatomon had no intention of letting it go down like that. This was her tamer, her life. What kind of digimon would let a clone take her place?
"I didn't do it for you...I came on my own...unlike some..."
Leomon wasn't sure how to respond to that statment. What did she mean? Did he detect a hostile tone coming from this digimon? Something was coming, and he moved in between Gatomon and Jeri just to be on the safe side.
"Even so...I want to know if there is anything I can do in return..."
"There is....Leave..."
Leomon raised an eye brow, seeing the frown upon the feline's face as he stepped forwards. He had to try and make her understand. Perhaps he he continued to talk to her, she would eventually realize that he was Jeri's partner.
"I don't understand...."
"Here..I'll help you!!"
Reeling her paw back, Gatomon leapt into the air, trying to strike the Leomon directly in the face. But as she closed in, the digimon swayed the side, barely avoiding her attack. This miss caused her to land on the opposite side of the Leomon, ready to fight.
"I'm Jeri's partner! Did you really think I would just let her go without a fight!? Deal with it! She's mine!"
Jeri prepared to jump in this, wanting the two of them not to fight, but Leomon placed his hand on her shoulder, stepping in front of her as a means to defend her from the emotional Gatomon. There was really no telling just how far the creature would be willing to go, and he wouldn't let Jeri get hurt.
"I don't want to fight you Gatomon. But if you do not stop this, I will do so for you..."

Larry expected hostility at some degree, but not quite like it showed now - the feline digimon was ready to fight for her right to be the child's digimon. The young man grinned for a second - this was actually to his advantage. Between the two digimon he'd put his money on the bigger guy, and this ... jealousy that the cat had shown would only alienate the girl from her. Which was ... according to his boss's plan. It would make the child even more their pawn. Suddenly, it left a bad taste in Larry's mouth. Still, he had to do what he had to do.
- I did not know that digimon already claimed her rights on you... - he said, pulling the girl away from the fight that would about to commence. It would do him no good if the child would get accidentally hurt, plus Leomon would teach that arrogant cat a thing or two, when he doesn't have the girl to hold him back. Between these two, Larry would choose the leomon, because ... digimon did not OWN humans. That gatomon had to learn it ... the hard way.
- Let them settle their differences on their own. And watch their true nature. - Larry added as troops came in between them and the digimon, in case things would go bananas. A fight is better to be observed from afar...

Their true nature? That statement alone was enough to make Jeri scream for them both to stop. This wasn't like Gatomon at all. While she knew that the feline could be arrogant and selfish at times, she had never seen her act like this. The digimon was really trying to hurt Leomon, just so that she would keep her as her tamer. Things weren't supposed to go this way. The two of them were supposed to become friends, not fight each other.
"Gatomon! Stop it!!"
As Jeri cried for a halt to the battle, Gatomon bared her teeth as she ignored her completely. She wouldn't stop, not in till this digital clone was data fragments. Jeri would see just how strong she was, and she'd regret ever trying something like this. Gatomon would prove herself better than this Leomon, and watch the girl beg for her to come back. Because she knew she was the best, it was her place that this guy was trying to take, and she was going to hold her ground.
"Talking is for Rookie Digimon and humans! I'm sending you back to whatever test tube they got you out of!!"
Dashing from her fighting stance, the feline disappeared for a moment, reappear in mid air as she sent a kick towards Leomon's shoulder. But yet again, the Leomon was prepared, stepping to the side as the feline only hit air.
Leomon soon got into a battle ready position, one hand resting on the hilt of his broadsword, while the other was at his side. This feline was serious about trying to hurt him, but he didn't want to strike her. This was a battle she felt she needed to have to claim her position as Jeri's partner. But the way she was doing it was wrong. Gatomon believed that the girl was tool, her tool. This wasn't the case, and he was well aware of it.
"Listen to me! This is pointless! What do you hope to gain from this!? Do you really think Jeri wants you to fight me!?"
Blocking the incoming attacks as the came, Leomon continued in his attempts to reason with the digimon. But as each strike came closer and closer to hitting their mark, he wasn't sure how long he could continue to be a punching bag for her.
"I'm not letting you take her!"

Larry smirked when he saw that Jeri's plea for the two to stop fighting have no effect. Showed how much the digimon cared for what she said and her wishes. Really, why would anyone listen? Humans were little more than energy batteries to them, weren't they? Tch, the mere thought made Larry sick. He could wager most digimon viewed humans that way. And in the same time he reflected how much better clones they made were. They were loyal, and they fought for a cause higher than their personal evolution. If anything, Larry viewed their clones superior in any imaginable way.
- Hnh. He didn't waste any words on me before trying to cut me open, and here he wastes so many words instead of just delivering a blow. How do I HATE digimon... - Larry muttered to himself as he move a bit forward to stand in the line with the troops, as they just watched the battle. He scratched the mended holes on his coat - yes, he still held a grudge.
- Same here, sir. - the two troops replied and nodded - they had heard his words, and shared his view quite completely. Having going to battle against these things could not help in developing love for these creatures, but they did appreciate the clones that were on their side. Sure they were digimon, but they were THEIR digimon.
- Yeah... If wild ones were a bit more like ours... We might not have been fighting this war... - Larry said to himself again as his own digivice appeared in his hands. Renee... He'd never trade her over that lumpy leomon, not for all the treasure in the world. But they had to be separated, the boss knew what he tried to pull off, but hopefully they didn't know where she was hiding. To keep it a secret, the young man had to cut all contact with her, at least for a while. It was hard ... very hard. He looked at the battle again with an absent glare. If Renee didn't do that mistake ... non of this would have happened...
