"..."
The wizardmon wandered through the streets of the residential area mapping every single space worth of being added to his survival map, a tool created specifically to mark where and when it was safe to move through the dangerous tamer-filled streets of the city.
It was 01:13 HS and not a single human soul lingered in the streets, it was the perfect time for the wizardmon to fulfill his fate and even if he were to be spotted by a random person who happened to be there, he looking convincingly enough like a human to get away with it. The only potential danger was the possibility of meeting one of those "military forces" the silver renamon talked about for no tamer would dare to stay until so late ... or at least that's what he thought.
"I'm almost done with this place, this area seems to have many good places where to hide during night time ..."
He continued traversing through the void of life pavemented roads of the man-made city, but his attention was diverted by the sudden appearance of what clearly was the characteristic fog that heralded the arrival of another digimon to this land of humans. This was one of the rare chances he had of being in the right place at the right time, and he wasn't going to waste it, so he walked into the fog and waited until the digimon appeared, hoping it was a reasonable one that would listen to his words

The fog was indeed a sign of a digimon biomerging, the wizardmon was correct about his presumption. As the creature was materializing in this world, it's outline becoming more and more clear. It seemed to be a bird of some sort ... and a pink one at that, of a weird form, with short claw-like wings, and a dazed and confused expression on it's face. Apparently this one was very surprised to end up here in the first place. The creature looked around helplessly, before asking itself:
- Where ... where am I? - Biyomon squealed in a rather loud exclamation, twirling it's head, being in a state of extreme worry, close to panic, being quite lost. It would surely end up in trouble from humans or other digimon, if not helped out by anyone. But, luckily, Wizardmon was here, wasn't he? Just to help poor digimon out...
But what he didn't know was that he wasn't the only rogue digimon looking for others. Somewhere in the darkness, another one was hiding, aware of presence of both, and just waiting for a right moment to strike. Needless to say, he vied the new-spawned not as comrades in distress, but instead as ... walking data for him to absorb...

The wizardmon quickly arrived to the fog-covered area, it was an intersection of streets next to a small park that could hardly compare with the shinjuku one, but that was during daytime a nice place where children played or people came to with their pets. Next to a car stationed next to the park, he noticed a lone biyomon who looked scared and confused, the wizard digimon felt relieved that this time the one brought to the human world was a good digimon, yet it saddened him that such an innocent child was brought to this world where digimon were hunted and deleted by the natives. He walked to the biyomon, close enough to let him see all his actions and far enough to not scare him for no child would get too close to an unknown person
"Little one, try to calm down. This might be hard to believe but this is not the digital world, this is the real world"
He smiled ... or at his eyes showed that he was friendly (remember that wizardmons covers their mouth and lower face) and walked slightly closer before talking again.
"I meant no harm, so could you let me get closer to you? It is hard to believe strangers like me, but I know of a good place where you can be safe"

The biyomon tilted his head upon hearing the voice coming out of the fog, and a silhouette that look humanoid. Narrowing his eyes, he managed to see that the mysterious person was no human, but a digimon instead. Despite the fact the lower part of the face was hidden by cloak, the eyes were friendly, and the small bird was gullible enough to trust anybody who looked friendly, even a complete stranger...
- The ... real world? But ... I thought our world was real... I'm so confused... - the poor birdie sat in on the ground, holding the head in it's hands, shaking it left and right. This didn't make much sense - biyomon never heard of "Real World", so ending up here was just as surprising if a commoner would end up in the digital world, having little to no knowledge of it...
- You sound nice. Are you a nice stranger? Are you? - the child tilted it's head at the wizardmon once more. - Is this place safe? Is there no danger? Is there, is there? - a bit of a tantrum followed, but what can you expect from a kid, even a digimon one?...
Deep in the darkness of a far backalley, the two digimon were watched by the mysterious entity, whose evil eyes were practically eating both alive, in a metaphorical sense. A big, vicious grin, full of white sharp fangs appeared, the wicked creature seemed to be pleased, everything was going as it wished it to go. The Wizardmon just had to get close enough...

"It is a bit strange, but the natives here consider our world as an "artificial one" while theirs is considered the "real one", we even appear as monsters in a battle card collection game popular here"
To most of the humans, digimons were just fictional creatures part of a franchise that spawned a card battle game and V-pets to play with. It was weird but here the digimon were "fictional creatures" and that was one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of this universe, just exactly what kind of connection existed between the digital world and the human world.
"I'm a good digimon, and where I want to take you is a very nice place, it is a bit dirty and untidy, but is the only really safe area in the human world and you might find a friend from the digital world if you are lucky"
The wizardmon, feeling that the biyomon was accepting him, got closer to him and patted his head and asked him that if he accepted to come with him, that he grabbed his hand and followed him, just to make sure the little one didn't get lost during the way.
Meanwhile, inside a nearby house, certain mentally ill teenager was still awake and toying around with a "black magic tome" and a "magician wand", trying to make an incantation. One would wonder exactly why their parents let her do that kind of things so late, but hers were workaholic businesspeople, and they were away in a business trip.
"Magic, maaagic!"
Alas, no magic was born from whatever she was doing. However, something "magical" indeed happened and certain gadget she had inside her room suddenly started up itself and began beeping and showing within it's crystal display screen some sort of instructions to reach some weird place. Such device was known by tamers as a "D-arc", but for the magician wannabe who called herself "love magician Mistral", it was a mystical item of magical properties.
"It worked! This magical item is leading me to where the evil demon lord lives!"
She actually found that device one or two months ago mixed along the rest of her stuff, but she paid it no attention until now. It was just pure coincidence that it began to work while she was performing "magic" and now that she decided to follow the instructions of the magical instruments, she quickly left her home to hit the road and ran towards a foggy area where the D-arc was pointing to. She still wasn't near it, but maybe in a few minutes she was going to arrive just at time to witness something that for normal people would feel like something that came out of an anime XD

The mysterious creature continue to spy on the two, until completely sure the wizardmon - the only one who posed actual thread, had his vigilance down. The child proved much more useful, than if he just killed it instantly when it biomerged - it helped lure the stronger ones into an improvised ambush. And those proved to be a bigger challenge than a weak rookie...
Like a black and red lightning, the horrible monster darted to the two digimon, before anyone could even blink, and tore the staff Wizardmon held in his other hand while patting the cute biyomon, on his way, before making a sudden stop, turning around like some sort of a speedy driver. And, in reality, that wasn't far from truth... (used Snipe Steal)
- Aaaa! - the poor child screamed in fear, hiding behind the shocked, now weaponless Wizardmon, wishing to wrap in the side of the cloak, only not to see the horrible monster that emerged out of nowhere, promising six kinds of different and horrible deaths only with one glare. The creature itself was ... scary, enough to make even the brave shiver.
It was like a wolf, only with a mouth full of jagged teeth that could have made a shark proud, terrible, vicious looking claws, and an evil look about the face, those glowing eyes not helping much. Fangmon had the word "Evil" written all over his body, and color-coded for your convenience. With a wicked smirk, the creature made a few steps towards the digimon.
- Hunting humans in their stone jungles is fun enough, to hear their screams of anguish and pain... - the demon wolf digimon said, and snapped the Wizardmon's staff it had in those jaws, as if it was made of bead and not wood and steel, effectively destroying it. - But it doesn't compare to and old-fashioned wanton slaughter of random digimon. Killing humans doesn't give you strength, so ... I'm glad you came here, wizardmon. You will be the main course. That cute precious little birdie will be ... for desert. Argh! - the Fangmon roared, jumping the Wizardmon...

The sudden attack of the fangmon took the wizardmon by surprise, he barely managed to avoid having his hand crushed by the huge jaws of the cruel digimon, although his wand had to be sacrificed and along it, part of the wizardmon's power, reducing the effectiveness of his spells.
"Stay behind me all the time, trying to find cover is futile"
That was a dangerous strategy, but the enemy was very fast and no matter where the biyomon went to hide, the wolf would quickly catch him and absorb his data. Alone, the wizardmon could've easily dispatched the fangmon, but he had to take care of the little bird and fighting and defending was no easy task, even for a digimon with his experience and intelligence.
The fangmon's empty menaces were only the typical speech of a villain, and that reassured the wizardmon that he should feel no pity for this digimon because he was neither confused nor lost, all the vile creature wanted was to cause death, and death was what the wizardmon was going to give him even if he were weakened by the lack of his staff, which was destroyed by the very talkative monster.
"I might be a pacifist and currently be weaponless, but do not underestimate me nor my strong will"
He kept the biyomon nearby all the time and slowly accumulated lightning power in both of his hands. If the fangmon were to get too close to them, the wizardmon would give him a handful of lightning, a meal that would leave him speechless.

- Why is it so ... mean and scary? We didn't do anything to him... I wanna go home! - the Biyomon whispered, keeping behind Wizardmon's back. The poor digimon never saw anything like this before - back in the digital world the bird lead a happy and carefree existence, always living near Primary Village, where such evil creatures didn't exist. This world greeted the child not with a smile, but with a death-glare...
- Will won't protect you from my teeth, sorcerer. Without your wand, you won't make your spells fast enough to prevent me from getting to you. And once I'm close - you're dead. Allow me to demonstrate. – the evil creature hissed, before darting at the wizardly digimon. He had a point – all spell-casters were more or less vulnerable up close, thus vulnerable to those who could get close.
– Aaaa! Save yourselves! – the birdie panicked as she saw the red and black thunder jumping the protector with fangs and claws ready to tear both apart. It ran away, in a vain attempt to save itself, leaving the Wizardmon to fend off for itself. Even if he would have put that lightning through the Fangmon – the vicious beast could take the shot, reaching the wizard anyway, and after that … well, it won’t be pretty…

"Don't move out!"
The scared bird listened not to the wizard's words and flew away, thus risking himself to be hunted by the red predator. Thankfully, luck was on his side as the fangmon launched himself towards the wizardmon rather than against the biyomon, and that was an opportunity the wizardmon wasn't going to waste.
"Thunder Ball!!"
The wizardmon shouted as he released the lightning magic in his hands in the shape of a ball made of pure magical electric energy. The attack itself was quite damaging even without the wand but actually it was a distraction as it reduced the area of sight of the enemy and let the wizardmon create two illusionary clones of himself right behind the thunder ball, not giving the fangmon the chance to realize this was a ruse while he and one of the illusion clones ran away from the thunder ball and the illusion clone left behind.
His plan was to use the confusion caused by this enchantment to accumulate more power to compensate for the lack a channeling wand and strike the wolf digimon with enough might to delete him with a single attack

The attack managed to stall the wicked beast, but only for a very short while. Fangman wasn't known as one of the most vicious predators for nothing - possessing resilience, cunning, strength and speed, he was considered the worst opponent to deal with when one on one. The clones Wizardmon created were obviously meant to win time, but he didn't know Fangmon too well. For starters, the digimon may have been corrupted and wicked, but he was not stupid. These clones might have fooled his sight, but he had other senses to rely on.
Closing his eyes, the creature tuned in to the sounds for a second. The clones were imaginary, they did not make sound, neither did they smell, making the deduction of the real one a whole lot easier. The sounds of movements, the cloak twisting in the wind - all that was leading the predator to it's prey. The biyomon was of no concern, he could easily find him later, for now Wizardmon was a greater thread. And he knew where he was now.
- I know where you are, my dear squishy wizard... - the digimon barked out, before charging in, ignoring the clones, slashing through with his claws, and wishing to plunge his teeth deep inside wizardmon's flesh once made physical contact. The real opponent was just in sight, not quite ready with another spell, and the fangmon was going at him with considerable speed...
