Gatomon was in mid-charge when she realized her error, though it was too late for her to turn back. She had already sent out her attack, swinging her blade just as the bear digimon had sent out his attack as well. The two attacks seemed to collide into one another, but while hers would end, his seemed to continue like a ongoing hurricane. So as soon as she was countered, the feline was smacked in the face and send swirling backwards into a tree.
Jeri watched in horror, though soon had to cover her face with her elbow as the wind around them seemed to pick up suddenly. Her hair blew to the side of her, causing her to be somewhat blinded while she looked towards her digimon partner with concern. How were they going to get through this digimon's defense. His strength seemed to outmatch Gatomon's completely and she would have to think of something if they were to get ahead of this.
But what?.....Ugh! Takato would know what to do....He'd have an idea or something!Grizzlymon must have another weak spot....
While Jeri seemed to be thinking, Gatomon slowly rose back to her feet. Shaking her head with a frown, she hissed towards the blue furred beast while charging past Jeri.
"Turning you into data is so gonna make my day! Argh!!"
Jeri had to snap out of her thoughts as she saw this, shouting towards her partner in attempt to calm her down. She was running right towards this digimon, risking her life in her own anger.
"Gatomon! Stop!"
Though it seemed that the cat was too far in now. With her blade sliding along the side of her, she made an attempt to thrust it in towards the bear's chest.

Needless to say, this was definitely not going Akatorimon's way as his mind had been rattled by the previous attack, and he was now open to the Pyro Sphere that was coming at him. It looked like he was going to lose this fight, but he would not fall alone. He planned to take his traveling buddy with him in a last ditch effort. Akatorimon quickly turned his head toward the other two combatants. "Scar-Red Eye!" Two streams of flames shot out of his eyes at both of his opponents right before the impact of Guilmon's Pyro Sphere destroyed him.
*
Grizzlymon watched as the little Gatomon's attack was deflected along with her. The battle was going his way, which was to be expected since he did not have to work with a partner as his opponents needed to do. "If you continue to fight like this, then you shall surely fall in the end. You fight as partners, but you fail to work together to achieve your goal."
It appeared that this lesson may be brought up to late for them as he was getting ready to counterattack again, but something caught his eye. Akatorimon's final attack was coming their way, and he could only see one way out of both of them being defeated. "Whirlwind!" He let loose another roar that blocked the attack just like the first one, but it came at the cost of letting Gatomon's sword enter his body.
He could feel himself slowly returning to data as the attack took its toll. "Remember what I said. Fight with one heart and one mind, and you shall never fall in battle." With his final words being said, he dispersed as data.

Finally, the rooster fell, but not before it sent one last attack at Guilmon. Unfortunately, Guilmon's speed card had worn off, leaving the reptile less able to avoid the streams of fire, and he was struck down, spiraling to the ground where he lay in a dusty heap. "Guilmon! Are you alright boy?" Takato shouted, rushing to his digimon's side.
Guilmon groaned slightly, but shifted himself back onto his feet. "I'm okay Takato." He said, as he slowly got up. "Just a bit... tired." He finished, before falling back down again. Takato smiled slightly at his partner. "Here. this will help. Digimodify, Special Bandage activate!" He said, swiping the card. Bandages appeared on his wounds, then vanished, revealing his partner had been completely healed.

Jeri listened to the large bear, a calm expression lingering over her as it's physical form vanished to be replaced by data particles. She could get herself to day anything, feeling sad that there was no other way to end this cycle. Did digimon really have to die just to get them to stop? Couldn't they be reasoned with? Not all digimon were simply violent. Though she couldn't really speak her thoughts to her partner, for she didn't seem to have any trouble with the situation what so ever.
Swinging the broadsword in between her claws, she smirked with closed eyes while the blade vanished from her grasps.
"Blah blah blah.....Why do they have to always have some kind of sob speech in the end? If you didn't want to die, then you should have just sat quietly somewhere..."
Sometimes, Jeri questioned whether the feline was hiding her true feelings or was really numb to the sadness of death. It just seemed like she took it so lightly, even going so far as to joke about it. But perhaps that was a question for another time, as she looked towards Takato and Guilmon to see if they were ok. Those two really did have a bond, fighting together as one. It made her wonder...if she could ever have a bond like that again? If not, then what was the point of being a tamer?

Now that Guilmon was okay, he looked over to see how Gatomon and Jeri were faring. He had only just managed to catch the Grizzlymon's last words, before he disintegrated into data. The Grizzlymon certainly had a point, but Gatomon seemed to have missed it entirely, which was unfortunate, and Jeri didn't said nothing in response to her partner, and in fact seemed down, especially for one who just achieved victory in battle.
"What he said had nothing to do with him not wanting to die Gatomon." Takato said to the feline digimon. "He had a great point. You'll both be strongest once you learn to work together as if you were one. Its not easy, but you'll both get there someday." He hoped he sounded encouraging. Jeri seemed a bit down for someone who had just won a battle. That reminded him, they had been interrupted. "Jeri, back at the hideout, was there something you wanted to talk about?" He asked again, hoping this time they wouldn't get interrupted.

Jeri looked towards her friend and smiled slightly as she listened to him. He was right. It wouldn't be easy to learn to work together. The girl would be kidding herself if she said that it would be, especially since her and Gatomon were complete opposites. But she did believe that the two of them did have understanding for each others feelings and thoughts. At least, she thought they did. The two of them just had to keep working at it.
Though as soon as Takato seemed to shift his attention towards Jeri, Gatomon stuck her tongue out and began making faces while the tamer's back was turned. If she needed lectures, she would just keep going to school with Jeri. If there was anything she knew more about, it was fighting. Since when was the last time this human joined a brawl?
Hearing his question, the young face began to turn beet red as she realized that was the whole reason she had come up here in the first place. But what could she really say now? Placing one hand behind her neck, she looked down to the side as she found herself stalling again. Could she really say that she didn't want to go to the digital world? Maybe it wasn't a question of what she wanted, but what he thought about it.
"Takato....About....going back to the digital world. Do you really think I should...I should go with you? I....I just don't want...."

When Gatomon started making faces at Takato, Guilmon gave her a perplexed look. "Is there something wrong with your face? You look funny." He asked, sniffing at the Gatomon.
Hearing her question, Takato was unsure of how to respond to this. In all honesty, he didn't want anyone to go. This decision seemed so rushed, and he couldn't help but think they were running face first into trouble. The others were bent on going though, and he couldn't stay behind and let the others face the danger alone. Jeri though... She was a completely different story.
Takato sighed, and scratched the back of his head. He wasn't sure how to say it right, but he had to say something. "I really don't know Jeri." He said finally. He felt bad feeling like he did, and coming up with the right words was hard. "This probably sounds really weird, but being around you, thinking about you, it gives me strength." Okay, this was very very very embarrassing to say. Thank god Kazu wasn't here, he'd probably be laughing his head off at him right now for getting all... mushy. "With you beside me, I feel like I can go into any battle and know what I am doing is right, and if I lose my way, your light will guide me back."
Takato was beat red by the time he finished all that and couldn't even bring himself to look at Jeri's face. Oh great, she probably thinks I am weird now. He thought. Embarrassing part was over now, but he still had to push on to finish what he was saying. "On the other hand, I'm... terrified that you'll get hurt again. I don't want to lose you again Jeri." He felt very ashamed to admit this. He should believe in Jeri's strength. He knew it was there! But the weeks Jeri spent captured by the D-reaper... They still haunted his dreams, even two years after the dreaded creature was gone. He just couldn't shake it off.

Gatomon continued to make faces towards Takato in till the hot air from Guilmon's nostrils caused her to look at him with a blank expression. As the lizard questioned her behavior, the feline rolled her eyes as she placed gently nudged the digimon's nose from her direction with a frown.
"It's called mocking someone...You know..teasing? Stuff like that?"
As the cat tried to explain her actions, Jeri looked towards the boy with a blank expression. She tilted her head onto her left shoulder, blinking while she listened to him speak. Did she really...give Takato strength? She could see how that was possible, especially since she didn't really thing herself capable of doing anything but that. So upon hearing this, she closed her eyes and giggled lightly into her hand.
But as he continued, she stopped laughing. He was being completely honest, she could see it on his face. Though what could she say?
"Takato........"
Looking at him with a concerned expression, she took one step forwards and then stopped as she held one hand close to her chest while the other lingered at her side. Her gaze shifted towards the ground, looking away from him as she seemed to be fighting her own feelings and fears.
"I'm.....I'm not...that...I can't be that important to you..... "
