In some not trampled part of the woods, a rookie Digimon is sitting in a tree. It wasn't easy to notice him, unless a few feet nearby looking at him just right. Though sitting 10 feet in the air, he wasn't there for an ambush. That didn't cross his mind. I'm not sore anymore. But it's pretty comfy. Maybe one more night here.
The day before, Whisker didn't watch where he was going. He tripped on a rock and took a tumble down a hill. No injuries, only sore and bruised. The tree was an attempt at a hiding place. I wonder why I haven't seen any Digimon here? Oh well, I don't think any will spot me. I'm just going to take a nap.
The Gaomon falls asleep, as there was nothing else to do. It felt secure enough to do so. Thinking about it earlier, he guesses the litter-filled ground will alert him if anyone comes through. Besides, he figures no one else will be around for the evening, like yesterday.

Unknown to Whisker, this area was generally deserted for good reason. Many digimon did know this place was within BlackOmnimon's circle of power, and those not wishing for trouble tended to stray away. Especially because this area happened to be well stalked territory for one of his more feared goons. Why was he a bit more feared then the rest? Well, this one happened to have a human partner, making him far more powerful then most could comprehend. And unlucky for Whisker, said digimon was currently out on a hunt, in the need of some fresh data, and with Whisker the only one around for a good while, he was being tracked down by the digimons nose...
"Around here?" Mini asked, looking down at his partner, who sniffed the air a few more times.
"Yah..." The digimon responded rather confidently "Around here..."

It seemed as soon as he closed his eyes, he had opened them again. Whisker didn't understand what woke him up. Until he listened carefully, Someone is coming this way. Something heavy, not Champion level big, but it's not a Wanyamon. He couldn't differentiate the footsteps, so all he knows one is coming towards him. The Digimon slowly got up, just so he's standing.
Why am I getting this bad feeling, like I'm being stalked. And it's not going to end with a young one wanting to nip on my tail... He cautiously waits. It felt like waiting for grass to grow, hearing the person come closer and closer. If he comes over here, I'll land a kick on their head and run for it to the way I came. I'm sure the clan wouldn't mind an early visit. To be honest, not traveling is annoying, but it's better to be restless and alive.

The boys digimon could smell whatever it was becoming closer and closer to them as he approached. In his hands, Mini had grasped some of his cards. This would go down just like any other hunt his partner had gone on. With a bit more data loaded, and thus a stronger digimon as the result. One step closer to the top.
Dex's ears perked up, thinking he heard somethings breath, not to mention the fact that the scent he was tracking was now very close. His eyes landed upon something blue, and thats all he needed. Within a second of him seeing his target, he had already fired off a metal sphere from his mouth (No need to state the name of the attack, as that would alert his prey) twords whatever figure he had spotted. He was rather quick to attack, of course, so in the event his target was to move before he got hit, Dex might think he had been imagining things... of course, that wouldn't stop his hunt in the least.

When Dex was within site, it was too late. The Digimon's attack shot towards him, only to hit the branch. He screams as he falls to the ground, thinking and staring at the assailant. The feeling was surreal, everything except his thought to have seem to gone in slow motion. When I get up, I need to charge at it. Then see about going or deleting.
The landing hurts. However, he clinches his teeth, picks himself up, then goes towards the attacker. Whisker was going to strong-arm Dex, not knowing anything about the tamer near-by. Also, he couldn't tell how much time had passed between the shot and the fall. The Digimon knew some projectile attacks can't be used in a repeated fashion, from some of the fights he's been in. However, he hasn't fought a Dorumon, so it's cool down time could be two seconds for all he knows. Anyways, if his timing was wrong, he's giving the Dorumon a free, accurate shot. Whisker decided try to knock Dex down anyways.

The digimon smirked as he heard the other scream, toppling from his place atop the tree. Ah, music to his ears... Unfortunately for Whisker, Metal Cannon could be used in rapid succession. He could fire off an impressive volley of metal spheres if he wished.
However, the Dorumon ran forward, leaving his partner a bit behind, so it would still be hard to tell he was with someone, charging at the dog on his way twords him. He was a trained hunter since before his partner came along, and that hadn't changed in the least. Seeming to be going for a physical blow at first to the dog (Gaomon, as his partner was identifying at the moment) He instead opened his maw halfway to the dog, and fired off another metal sphere. This time he was closer. There would be less room to avoid, and a larger threshold for pain.

Dex must've loved the harmony of Whisker screaming in pain, as he hits the ground. The attack dug into the Gaomon's left side. Instead of making him want to withdraw, I'm going to knock his head off! The dog gets up, as he takes a handful of dirt. At full speed, he charges at Dex. When close enough, Whiser tosses the dirt at the Dorumon's face.
Continuing his speed, if nothing was obstructing his way, he would strafe right. His plan was to blind and frustrate his enemy. With him unable to see, Whisker would go behind and beat the attacker, until deletion. Sadly, he still didn't notice Mini. It could be problematic if there was a card to buff or protect the Dorumon.

(Sorry! Forgot about this!)
Dex cringed as his eyes were filled with dirt, blinding him momentairily, causing his anger to grow as he flailed out infront of him in an attempt to reach his assailant, but he was no longer there. The human simply watched on. He wanted to wait till the right moment to step in. His partner could handle himself well enough, though he was holding a few cards to help out if things got really bad. However, he just waited to see how his digimon handled things...
