"Jeri! Can I come out of the bag now?"
The girl looked around the surrounding area of the park , glancing once towards her backpack and then towards the a isolated part that was covered by bushes. Quickly, the girl moved herself behind it, opening her bag to see the Salamon hop out and land softly on the ground next to her. Looking up towards her tamer, the small digimon giggled as she watched Jeri sat up to her feet, and walk towards a tree.
"So...Takato is your friend right?"
Jeri looked down at the small creature, nodding with a smile as she sat herself against the large oak, watching as Salamon hopped into her lap.
"Mm hm, hes a really good friend... I guess he's really one of the only people that I can really call my friend..."
Noticing her tamer's smile starting to fade, the digimon quickly hopped off the girl's lap and then stood up on her back legs in her attempt to stand on two legs. This sight was rather interesting, especially with how much Salamon wobbled and struggled to remain balanced.
"Oh come on! He can't be that great! What about me!? Im your friend too right?"
The young girl giggled as she smiled towards the digimon. Though just as it was about to fall onto its face, Jeri managed to grab her by the sides, holding her up as quickly placed her other two paws back on the ground.
"Thanks..."
" You're welcome...and yes you are..."
"So then, what say we forget about going home, and go look for some digimon to fight? Im kinda sick of being so small! I wanna be stronger so I can digi-volve!"
This surprised the girl, hearing her partner suggest that they go about attacking digimon just to gain data. In fact, it was something that Rika used to do with Renamon. But, Jeri couldn't see herself being so cold, just as she was sure that Rika couldn't go and do the same thing. A life was a life...whether it was human or digimon.
"You know Salamon...Theres more to life than just physical strength. Theres also...strength of heart?"
The Salamon appeared puzzeled by this statement, looking up towards the human with a blank expression. This was a new concept, strength of heart. She had never heard of such a thing.
"Strength of heart?"
"Yea....Its being strong enough to help others and to think less of youself...At least, thats what I think it is..."
The digimon went silent, her eyes closed as she tried to understand what exactly the girl had just said. This strength of heart was interesting. Perhaps, maybe she could one day gain this power.
"How do you know when you have it? Does it make you digi-volve?"
Jeri smile reappeared as she slowly shook her head. In honesty, she really wasn't sure what it was either. She always figured it was what Leomon had referred to. He once stated that she had a lion's heart, which she thought meant courage. But in truth, she really didn't think she was so brave. Takato, Rika, and Henry, they truly did have strength of heart. They sacrficed so much to help everyone.
"I don't know....I guess its more of feeling than anything..."
