Walking inside Shinjuku park never gets old. While the occasional small breeze and the sun slowly setting down, Dex was simply in heaven. With a small bag of potato chips in one hand with a open can of Soda in the other, it seemed that nothing could ruin such magnificent evening. But like all good stories, such heaven-like condition were the perfect conditions for bad luck to strike. However, bad luck is still luck right?
The young teenager finished his soda in one big sip before taking his swing to throw the empty can at one trashcan. He would often come here at this hour of the day with this potato chips and soda routine. However, there seems to be something missing. A trashcan to be exact. Indeed, Dex quickly stopped his movement upon seeing that the trashcan was gone. Upon close inspection, Desmond finally saw that the said trashcan was simply on the ground half hiding by bushes.
"Stupid kids these days. Of all activities, they had to play with my trashcan." Lamented himself while slowly walking toward the bushes. As he bent his back to pick it up, the head of a strange creature came out of the bushes and began staring at Dex. "Eh?" The two blankly stared at each others for what seemed to be a a second of two. "Hullo! You must be my Tamer!" Said the Digimon hiding in the bushes.
In great surprise, Dex did the most common human reflex when confronted to something unknown. Screaming. "Aaaah!" He shouted. As for the Tapirmon in front of him, he also did a common reflex when someone screams. He began screaming too. "Aaaah!" And they both screamed at each others in unison before both stopping to catch their breath.
Dex fell on his butt before throwing the bag of chips at the Digimon. "Hey, watch it! I'm on your side!" Exclaimed Tapirmon. "And be careful! You almost crushed your Digivice with your butt!" Upon hearing these words, Dex gave him a puzzled expression before asking more questions. "My digi-what?" Tapirmon sighed in exasperation. "Digivice. That's the proof that you're the one chosen to be my tamer. And watch the cards ok? They're precious too."
"Wha-what? What do you mean? What's all this about? A game or something?" Asked Desmond while picking up the Divigice and the cards, clearly still confused with everything that just happened. Tapirmon sighed again. "Fine let's do it this way. Yes, it's a game but with more serious consequences. You only have one life and no continues." Dex blankly stared at the cards and his new Digivice. "And what I'm I suppose to do with you and all these stuff?"
Once again, Tapirmon sighed before answering his question. "We'll have defend ourselves and other against bad guys. Just play along will you?" Dex finally began to understand. For him, it was still a game; but it seems that he was given to power to help the weak. Something that interested him since he was often bullied in the past. "Defend eh? Alright, I'll play your lil' game for now. But first, let get you out of here. Playing in trash isn't very clean."
"I was hungry! And it smelled like food! Speaking of which..." Tapirmon quickly opened the bag of chips before eating them all. "Thanks for the food!" This time, it was Desmond who sighed. And thus, a strange partnership began.

Tsuki sighed miserably as she walked through Shinjuku park. she was walking home after finishing a book at the library. Tsuki went there each day and stayed until closing or until she finished one book which was surprisingly simple, she was a fast reader and the librarians was astounded at the ability. Tsuki stopped for a moment as she could feel like she was being watched by someone or something. She looked around at the beautiful sunset, they were always so beautiful but its always signals that she must return to her dysfunctional household.
Tsuki was halfway though the park when she could hear simultaneous screaming. She stopped and looked around for the source as she slipped around to a boy around her age talk to something in the trash can, She could help but being curious as she moved slightly and was surprised to see a live digimon. She got out her deck of cards and shuffled and pulled one out that looked like the on in front of her. "A Tapirmon." she said incredulously as she watched the two interact. What was going on....she faintly remembered other digimon showing up a few years ago, but she didn't think other people would get digimon. A sudden gust of wind hand unfortunately blown the Tapirmon card away from her and unluckily had blown in the direction of the new partners. "Great my card..." she whined knowing she was going to get caught.

Dex was completely unaware of the girl presence, his attention was still riveted to his newly acquired Digivice. While still examining the brown and green D-Arc, the boy lazily stood up as the gust of wind blew at his direction sending the potato chip bag away with it. "Hey! I wasn't done yet!" lamented the Tapirmon while moving his arms in hope to catching it back. However, his rather small size didn't play in his favor as the bag simply went out of his range.
On the other hand, his tamer was more lucky than the Digimon. A small card flew directly in front of him and in a rather lucky catch, Dex managed to get his fingers on the flying card. "Eh? What's that?" he asked nonchalantly to his new partner. "Tapirmon... Hey, what a minute. It's your chubby face on it." A hint of sass could be heard in his voice. "Chubby? I'm pretty sure that you're the heavy one between us too." replied the Digimon while crossing his arms.
However, their short verbal battle would soon end as Dex turned his head to face the girl who was watching them. "Oh, it seems that we have a guest here Chubby." said the tamer with some surprise in eyes. "She doesn't look like a baddie neither. And stop calling me Chubby. Hey, wait for me!" Desmond wasn't listening to his Digimon anymore as he lazily dragged himself toward the newcomer while putting his D-Arc and three cards in his left pocket. His right hand was still holding the Tapirmon card.
"I presume that must be yours eh?" Dex extended his right arm to hand her back the card while asking his question. "You're in the game too, right? I'm Dex and this is Chubby." Dex took a quick pause to let his partner catch up on him. The small Vaccine Digimon sighed before doing a small bow to the girl as a greeting. "What's your name, girl?"

Tsuki watched the Tapirmon card silently and gracefully fly toward the pair and the Tamer was the one that caught it and was surprised that it was his digimon's card. She silent prepared herself for the confruontation as the two bickered for a moment. Tsuki flinched a little as the tamer's eyes finally spotted her just as he began to walk toward her. She stared apatheticly at the duo then to the card as it was handed back to her. Tsuki gingerly reached out with her and and plucked the card away. She then ignored the question as he gaze was now apon the digimon as she leaned down then poked it's nose "It's a Tapirmon." Her voice was very quiet and monotoned. it has been often described as 'robotic' by her classmates and teachers.
"A vaccine, Holy type digimon that can controls peoples dreams." she had recited it from the research she had done, from the card and the net that she gets on after buying new cards. Tsuki was known to be social awkward and often never seen around people. She has never made any friends was wasn't particularly stand outish, often blending into the background. Even at home she blended, often was compared negitivly to her brother, being told that they wish that she was more like her brother. "I am Tsuki Doujima....a pleasure to meet you." she said, the voice felt automated and false sounding, giving more to the robotic aspect

Dex stood speechless at first when Tsuki went to speak to his Digimon instead. From what he could see, it seemed that this mysterious girl knew far more about his partner than he does. Her knowledge of Digimons could prove rather useful for him. The male tamer quietly observed the girl while listening her summary of the Tapirmon's ability. As for his Digimon, he was quite pleased at being the center of attention. "Hey Chubby, looks like you have a fangirl eh?" This time, his voice didn't felt that natural neither.
In a matter of fact, Dex intentionally mimicked Tsuki's robot-like tone. "Don't mind him, he's just jealous. And stop calling me Chubby already!" loudly complained Tapirmon. Desmond tucked his fingers in his pockets bent his back little bit more toward Tsuki. His eyes were literally glued to the girl. "Whatever Chubby." This time, Tapirmon didn't felt like replying to his Tamer. He simply sat on the ground with his arm crossed again. However, he couldn't resist wondering why Dex was acting like that.
Without further notice, Dex moved his head terribly close to Tsuki's stopping at two or three inches away from actually touching her. The boy simply stared at her eyes like he trying to find something. Desmond would simply follow her if she were to move away from him. After few secs of invasive staring, Tapirmon would break the silence. "Erm... Dex, I think that you might be you know... Making her a bit nervous with your lil' act here?"
"You're quite an odd one, eh?" Once again, Dex completely ignored his partner. "You should try smiling, girl. You'll be a lot more cuter." he said while moving his head away from Tsuki's. "I think we started out on the wrong foot, eh? So let's start over shall we?" On these words, Dex removed his hands from his pockets before extending his right arm waiting for a handshake.
"I'm Desmond. Call me Dex though. And this is erm... Tapirmon right? Anyway, nice to meet you Tsuki." He smiled at the girl as Tapirmon did the same. Sure, his tamer was on the weird side but he seemed to be a good guy deep inside. "So you must be in the game too since you know lil' Chubby there, right? Tapirmon sighed again. It seems that his tamer was however, very deep.

Tsuki could sense the other was a little shocked but she introduced herself to both of them just was a little more attentive, this was her first live digimon she met. Tsuki stood back up and stared back at as the tamer began to speak again, her eyes narrowed a little as the male's voice mimicked her voice. Everyone did that to her, making fun of her voice, It was quite annoying to her and she glared slightly at the tamer.
Tsuki's attention was then drawn to Tapirmon as he tried to cover for his tamer, Despite the annoyance of the nickname he seemed to be fairly loyal to him. Tsuki shivered more as the Tamer stared at her deeply and moved closer to her, She was unused to being center of attention often shadowed by her older twin. Tsuki jumped and backed away immediately as Dex moved so closer to her. Tsuki wanted to move her eyes away the other as they searched hers deeply but couldn't as he continued to get closer.
Tsuki was jolted as Dex spoke, waking her from his trance, she blinked as he backed up and stared at the hand that came toward her, she knew it was a handshake but she never shook ones hand before and just continued to stare at it for a minute. "Smile?....I don't have anything to smile about....so why?" she said in her monotone still in full effect.
So the tamer was Desmond, or Dex. And obviously, his partner Tapirmon. She observed their smiles and still wondered why they were smiling but she knew she wasn't like others so she dropped the thought but became interested as the other mentioned the Digimon card game. "Yes, I collect a lot of cards and spend my time reading about it and researching the cards on the computer. I find it very interesting and another way to pass the time." she said a little spark inside the monotone but it still controled her voice.

Dex stood in front of Tsuki with his arm extended still waiting for a handshake. Seeing how timid the girl looked like, the male tamer decided to simply tuck his fingers back into their pockets. On the other hand, Tapirmon, or the Digimon now known as Chubby, couldn't resist laughing at bit at his Tamer. "Did you really expected a proper handshake after your stare-off?" said the little Digimon while laughing. "Oh so now you're the social expert now? Must I remind you that you are a Chubby Tapir with the bad fashion taste?" The two do sound like an old couple from times on times.
With Chubby back to his sulking state, Dex turned his attention back to the girl with the monotone voice. From what he could hear and see, Dex quickly went to the conclusion that she's probably not the smiling type of girl. Nor the popular one neither due to her rather poor social skills. However, his previous action wasn't much better. Without knowing it, Dex was back to staring at the girl's eyes. This time again, it was Chubby who broke the silence. "Erm... Dex, creepy stare again." whispered the Vaccine-type Digimon to his tamer.
The not very subtle whisper was enough to make Desmond realize that he was indeed back to his "creepy stare" mode. "Eh, sorry for that." he shyly apologized while reaching out for his only three cards. In his usual nonchalant way, Dex showed them to Tsuki with a exaggerated sad face. "I must admit that I'm not much of a card player. Never really been into the whole Digimon hype..."
"In other words, he doesn't know anything about their effects." Dex quickly turned his head around to face the Tapirmon with an angry glare. Chubby, who was now back in his Happy mode, quickly followed with a request. "Miss Tsuki, could you please tutor him? I know he's a bit of a jerk, but I promise that he'll behave."
Dex was clearly surprised by his partner request. In fact, he just blankly stare at him and then back to Tsuki with a rather puzzled look. "I don't think that she has time for this actually... Right?" His voice was rather low and shy compared to his previous dialogues. Of course, he would like to know the effects of his cards. On other hand, being tutored? Not really his cup of tea.
"Although, if you have time... Perhaps a quick rundown of their effects?" asked a timid Dex with a shy smile.

Minato gave a sigh as he walked along with his three companions within Shinjuku park.
"I thought you said we were gonna crush some people under our feet..." He muttered "Not take some orders from some other digimon..."
"Hey kid, you gotta realize what a sweet setup you and I got here..." Dex (The dorumon) said, glancing over at his partner "You an' me? We're partners. We aint expendable like some of those other grunts out there. We got status." He smirked a bit to himself "A human has the power to increase a digimon's power exponentially. He wouldn't dare treat us bad. Were the ace in the hole Mini."
"Whatever you say man..." He responded, shrugging. He glanced back at the girl and her bat-like digimon following her "You have been at this longer then I have... How well have you two had it?"

Enter: Yamataki Kazai "It's cake," DemiDevimon interjected. "So long as you stay on his good side."
Kazai tagged along just behind Mini with her Digimon tucke in her arms. She herself had never really been that into this whole fighting thing, however she did understand jobs needed to be done. They did not have time or room for failure. In order for his dreams to be realized, their missions needed to be successful. It wasn't about the fighting. There was a greater goal behind their actions, although it did seem some of the people involved liked to fight.
"Hmm... So you're planning to take some more data, Dex? Will that really help us become so much more powerful?" Kazai asked Mini's partner. She had never cared much for interaction with humans. They were a rather despicable species. She almost hated humans, although her feelings were much more complex. Humans really didn't make much difference anyway, it were the Digimon who mattered to her, and only in the Digital Realm could her future goals be attained.
"Hm?" DemiDevimon quickly broke out of Kazai's arms and flew up, perching himself on top of her head. He looked forward, squinting his eyes as two humans, one who had a Digimon, came into his vision.
"Looks like there's a Tapirmon up there, Dex. If you want to steal some data, now's your chance."
"Really? That sounds like a waste of time to me," Chiaki retorted. "Besides, we have to find Calumon now. That's our mission. We don't have time to deviate."
"Well... Maybe they know something about Calumon... How many people in this world have Digimon anyway? Can't be too many. I say we just keep going and confront them."

As the newcomers continued their path toward the odd trio, Desmond simply stood in front of Tsuki awaiting for an answer. "So what do you think eh?" said the boy with his borderline nonchalant voice. On the other hand, Chubby turned his head around to look at the two persons with their Digimon coming toward them. The Vaccine type Digimon glared at the two Digimons and then at their Tamers. Something simply didn't feel right.
"Guys, I think you might want to save your lil' conversation for later." said Chubby. His voice was a bit more tense than before. Desmond lazily turned around to look at the newcomers. "What it is Chubs?" he asked while staring at the quadruple. "I have a bad feeling about them." the Digimon quickly answered to his Tamer. "Somehow, I doubt they came here for a talk." The small Digimon readied himself by bracing himself on the ground.
"I think that you're getting a bit on the paranoid side Chubs. They look perfec-" Desmond didn't finish his sentence. Instead, he titled his head to one side before squinting his eyes as if he was analyzing something. Indeed, there was just something that suddenly felt wrong in the air. Dex wasn't sure of what it was exactly, but after seeing these two Tamers alongside their Digimons, the young teenager conclude that his partner might be right about them not coming for a talk. "Time to play the game eh?" slowly whispered Desmond to his Tapirmoin.
"You know what Tsuki, it's getting awfully late eh?" Desmond faked a smile to hide his stress. "Why don't you head back home? I heard that the park gets real creepy at night..." And tonight, it might get even uglier.
