It had been a little over a week since he first met Kudamon, and he had learned a lot about tamers and digimon from him in the last week. He enjoyed the creature's company, and his size made him easy to disguise as a scarf, or even just a normal ferret... with Earrings. But hey, a lot of people were doing crazy things to their pets. A ferret with pierced ears couldn't be that unheard of, could it?
Regardless though, he made sure Kudamon was tucked into his coat well so at least his transparent rear side was hidden. He had come to the mall today, hoping to finally find an actual friend after his disastrous encounter with two other tamers, one being a ridiculously agressive female, and the other a male who was trying to convince him that he should be making friends with people who hurt his own friends instead of trying to defend himself and his friend.
Both were completely messed up people. Was that what digimon do to people? Did they somehow turn into aggressive bitches and foolish guys? Would he turn out like them? He hoped not. He didn't really feel any different. Then again, it was very late out when he met the duo. I guess the kooks really do only come out at night he thought, giving a short chuckle.
He entered a fast food restaurant inside the mall. His parents were busy as usual, his father at work, and his mother tutoring his little sister. So he was pretty much on his own as far as lunch went. He ordered a sandwich and a soda. Once his order was taken, he carried it back to an empty seat and began to eat, every once in a while sticking a piece down his coat for Kudamon to eat.

Shana too had been walking through the mall. She had hoped to buy the new Digimon video game but it was to no avail. The game was nowhere to be found. All stores had sold out the moment their stocks came in. Aruraumon would be just as disappointed as Shana, as the two did enjoy playing the game together. It seemed pointless though. She wouldn't be able to get the game anyway.
Shana was disappointed now. There was nothing to do. Everything was so boring. Life was so boring now. There was no excitement. She couldn't even take Aruraumon out to look for fights anymore... not while she was a cripple. She walked with a crutch after having her left ankle torn and twisted during her most recent fight. And she still hadn't gotten used to walking on those wooden hampers.
"Ughh!" She fell. Flat on her face after mis-stepping with her crutches. It was painful, but thanks to her cast, her foot had been held in place and she wasn't injured further..
"Nnnngh!"

Marik slipped the last bite of his food down his coat collar, which Kudamon took gratefully. While he waited for his partner to finish the bite, he let his gaze wander a bit. There was nothing much outside the window, other than numerous cars and buses going by on their own business, as well as a few birds hopping through the trees. Shifting his gaze back inside, the line up at the till was just about as dull as when he was waiting in it.
His gaze shifted across the tables and the eating customers of the store to the door, where he spotted someone fall just in front of the door, where he spotted an oddly familiar figure fall flat on her face. "That wasn't." "It was." He and Kudamon exchanged, the fox having poked his nose out to look. By the look at her before she fell, she had been crutches. It seemed she had taken nothing from her battle with Kudamon.
The battle now though, was between his urge to stay as far away from her as possible, and pitying the poor thing. Sighing, he decided to get up and see if he could at least offer her help. At least then Perris couldn't say he didn't try to befriend her. But it was no loss if she didn't accept any attempts at friendship -- there were bound to be tons of tamers out there considering he had met about three of them just moments after meeting Kudamon. He wasn't about to bend over backwards to try to be friends with such an aggressive kid.
He opened the door, his expression quite neutral as he stared down at her. She was lucky he wasn't the type to seek revenge, because this would be a the most opportune moment to take it. "You need help getting up?" He offered, though making sure to stand near her head where she couldn't kick him as she had done to Perris when he had attempted to do the same. By the looks of it she had broken her foot or ankle, which was slung up on a cast. But he didn't want to take any chance that she would kick him with her good leg, or with her crutch. He stood there, keeping a sharp eye on what she did. If she tried to attack him, he'd notice right away.

"Umm... Thanks..."
She said to him as she took his hand whilst he helped her get up. She usually didn't like to take help from other people, but it seemed she wasn't really in a predicament where she could refuse the help. She had never liked feeling so dependent on someone before. She always wanted to be independent and strong, just as he mother was. She didn't need anyone else... at least, she didn't want to... especially not a boy's.
It was then that she recognized him. He was that boy she had met in the park not too long ago. Why was he being so nice to her? Hadn't she just tried to destroy his Digimon? She had thought so. Why was he being kind all of a sudden? What was his game?
"Lets... go sit down... Please?"
She held her arm around his shoulders for balance, helping that he would help her to a seat inside of the restaurant and get her crutch off of the ground for her.

Once certain she wasn't going to spin around and try to kick him and crawl away, he took her hand and helped her back up. He had expected her to just hop over to the door to take that for balance, but she clung to him. He honestly did not expect her to be this well, polite in the least. She certainly wasn't polite at the park. But then again, she obviously was in a fighting mood then. Now, she was pretty much crippled. At least she wasn't as stupid as he thought she was.
He nodded, and took her over to the nearest free table in the restaurant. Once she was in her seat, he went back out to pick up her crutches. When he returned, he leaned the crutches against the table, before sitting down himself. "You okay? It looked like a pretty harsh fall." He inquired, more wondering what sort of pain she was in. The leg was obvious. its broken, not okay. Asking about it at least broke the silence.

"Yeah... I'm as fine as I can be with my ankle as messed up as it is," she said in response to his question. Her ankle had almost literally been torn away from her in combat, but at least she still had her hands. After all, she didn't need her feet to play video games, and aside from fighting with Aruraumon in real life, that was her favorite thing to do.
She sat at the table, folding her arms and resting her head on it. She was actually a bit tired. It took so much effort to come to the mall like this. Before now, she had never felt so helpless before. She looked up briefly to marik, sitting next to her at the booth. She hoped that marik seeing her so hurt right now wouldn't make him think she was weak. She didn't want to get that kind of reputation. She wanted people to think she was tough, not to see how vulnerable she really was on the inside.
"If you're wondering how I got injured like this... It was while beating up a 15 year old boy... Well.. I got hurt a bit, but you should see what I did to him," she chuckled.

"That's good, though I imagine it will be better once your ankle is healed up" He responded, giving a bit of a shrug. Being confined to his home most of the time, only leaving on trips to visit family out of town or other such things that posed very little danger to his physical well being, he didn't really know what it was like to take such a severe injury. He could only imagine it hurt a lot. That however, might change now that he had much more freedom to do as he pleased. He hoped it didn't though.
As Shana then explained the cause of her broken ankle, Marik tried to force a smile, but failed completely, and his lips dropped back down to a frown. "That's... nice." He managed to say, though it was easy to tell he wasn't impressed at all, or even interested for that matter. "I'm sorry, I just don't understand what's so great about fighting." He apologized, not wanting to upset her with his less than positive response.

She frowned. His comment about not understanding what was so great about fighting made her feel belittled. How could she possibly explain why she felt the way she did about it? It gave her a feeling of control, and power... something that she could find nowhere else in her life. That was why it made her so happy. But explaining that to him would just show him how weak she really was.
"Aaaaanyway..." she began with the intention of changing the topic. "Why don't you be a gentleman and buy me lunch?"

Marik was glad for the change of topic. He didn't really want to venture into the topic of fighting. He had his views, she certainly had her own, and she definitely had her own views. It seemed they were complete opposites on that table, and debating the subject would likely not end well. He preferred the calmer personality she showed now. Part of him wished her ankle would never heal so friendship might actually be possible. He didn't like having enemies, and the thought of him fixing the mess from last week seemed good. But that leg would heal, and he had a feeling she would be back to the battle hungry punk she was last week.
But he might as well enjoy it while it lasted. "Sure, but you're the one paying. What would you like?" said Marik, holding out his hand, waiting for her to give him the money to pay for the meal. As if he was going to spend his own money on a girl who had attacked him out of no where the previous week. He hoped she hadn't expected him to pay, because he certainly wasn't going to.

"Oh fine... but you're not going to get a girlfriend acting like that..."
Shana wasn't enthusiastic about spending the money she had saved up in her allowance, especially since she hadn't even been able to buy the game yet. She wanted to be careful not to overspend and accidentally end up short, but on the other hand, she did want something to eat and didn't want to wait until she got home. She disdainfully pulled her wallet out of her pocket, reaching into it and pulling out some of her money. She handed him some which would be more than enough for her meal.
"Just a kid's meal..."
She then folded her wallet and put it back into her pocket.
