Nothing was the same anymore; it was like everything that happened two years ago had never really happened at all. There hadn’t been a Digimon sighting in over two years and they way things were going it didn’t look like that was ever going to change. He missed his best friend; he missed being able to talk freely with somebody without having to hide the fact that he was Digimon Tamer. What he and Cyberdramon had was more then just the average master and companion relationship like the other tamers had or at least he thought so. Ryo still remembered the day he had come to him, it was right after the competition four years ago. He remembered the fog surrounding him; he remembered the digital field appearing out of nowhere, and then he remembered Cyberdramon showing up out of the field urging him to come along. A real life Digimon had appeared before him and was demanding he come with him. Without even thinking about the consequences or his father Ryo had obediently followed and the rest was history. He later got his Digivice and he later found out the only reason Cyberdramon wanted him was because he had wanted to grow stronger but that wasn’t the point.
The point was Cyberdramon had chosen him to lead him and even though it started out with him just needing him to grow stronger it became more then that. Even though Cyberdramon didn’t talk much, he mostly growled every time Ryo tried to talk to him he still protected him. There were numerous times where Ryo had almost been attacked and before something could happen to him Cyberdramon had been there, been there making sure he didn’t get hurt. So Ryo missed his friend cause when they had finally returned to the human world him and Monodramon were just then getting closer. He got closer only to have his friend once again ripped from him, only to have to once again live a normal life. Sure after he had left Ryo had tried to get back into the card game but after experiencing the real thing it wasn’t really the same. So he had stopped that and now two years after the whole thing Ryo was again living the normal life.
Boringly look up at the clock that hung on the wall of the classroom, Ryo sighed softly before once again laying his head back down on the deck. School had just started and already Ryo was not only paying absolutely no attention he was also listening to music. If he sat in the back and positioned himself the right way the teacher never saw the ear buds or even the iPod chord. Tapping the eraser part of his pencil against his deck, Ryo glanced out the window toward the parking lot. He wanted to get out He needed to get out of here all but he needed an excuse. School wasn’t really one of the things he missed while away. He especially didn’t miss the uniforms. It was bad enough they made him wear one in middle school but really high school too? Sometimes Ryo had to wonder why exactly he had even agreed to go to a private school. It wasn’t like he was getting a better education. The only difference between the private school and the public school was he now had to pay to attend. Letting another sigh escape his throat Ryo feeling a sudden vibration his front pocket jumped slightly. Sitting up halfway he glanced around to make sure nobody was paying attention to him before reaching in his pocket and slowly pulling out the D-arc. Narrowing his eyes slightly Ryo silently watched as it lit up, the screen a bright red.
Shoving the Digivice back in his pocket Ryo looked back up at the clock, there was a good half hour left in the period but this was the first time in years that his Device had shown any kind of activity. School wasn’t about to stop him from finding out what was going on. Shoving his pencil in his pocket and grabbing his notebook Ryo taking a look at his teacher waited till he had turned his back to go to the board before slipping out the back door. It didn’t matter if they hard the door slam or not because by time they realized he had left he would be long gone. Pulling his Digivice back out of his pocket Ryo clicking on one of the buttons came across the compass. Jogging quickly down the hall and out the front door Ryo focused all his energy on just following the compass. If it was a hostile Digimon then so be it, but it just had to be something. Cause if a hostile could get through so could his friend. Ten minutes later Ryo slowed down to a brisk walk his eyes still glued to the devices screen, as the beeping grew increasingly louder. He was here; whatever was coming was supposed to appear here. Looking away Ryo spinning around slowly looked for anything, the fog, a portal something to tell him that he hadn’t just gotten his hopes up.
But there was nothing there was no smoke, no portal, no anything. He was stuck in the small little forest or park behind his school. He didn’t know where he was and trees surrounded him blocking him from looking too far away. He was lost with nothing but a seemingly broken Digivice and a notebook and a pencil to help him out. Groaning Ryo leaning back collapsed onto his bottom. Spreading his legs slightly Ryo laid the Digivice down between them. Letting another groan escape his lips Ryo hanging his head down slowly closed his eyes. Reaching up with his right hand he ran his fingers slowly through his hair, his disappointment-clearing showing on his face. Opening his eyes back up a few minutes later Ryo quickly narrowed him. There it was the fog, the one thing he had been wishing for. With his heart hammering in his chest Ryo silently watched as it surrounded him. Glancing down toward the Device Ryo could no nothing but watch as it continued to glow and beep. The portal was near cause the beeping was becoming more and more frantic and Ryo couldn’t have been happier. Looking away once again Ryo looked up at once spotted the small portal a few feet from him. The ground was a glowing a light blue, as the creature emerged crawling out of the hall.
Ryo slowly rising to his feet tried to see through the fog, which seemed to get thicker as soon as the Digimon had emerged. All he saw was a foggy black outline. Taking a step foreword Ryo let out a light laugh escape his throat as suddenly shattering the silence came an all too familiar roar. Taking a few more steps foreword Ryo watched as the creature not only seemed to drink in size but also as the fog finally started to clear up. Leaving his now silent Digivice behind Ryo watched as his long lost friend spotted him and then preceded to run his way over. Letting another laugh escape his throat as the small dragon wrapped his limps around his waist and squeezed Ryo couldn’t have been happier. His friend was back the person he had been missing the most was finally back. Leaning over slightly he patted his friend on the back before trying to hug him back in that position. “ Welcome back buddy. ”
(Eh kinda hate this post but I'm tired and i'm going to bed. Next post won't be this long or sappy. Things a total chick flick moment... )

"Oh... It's just Ryo and Monodramon," Rika said as she emerged from behind a nearby tree. She had run all the way over to his school from her own to deal with the Digimon who had apparently breached into the human world. Even though she had left from her school she was not wearing her school uniform. She had taken the time to stop and change out of it into her normal more casual t-shirt and jeans. She knew that the Digimon could be trouble, but she reasoned that she had plenty of time, after all, the Digimon would be stuck in the Digital field for a while, and she knew that she and Renamon could deal with him quickly.
"Now, now, Rika... Lets be nice... After all, it's been a while since we've all been together..."
Renamon turned around to face the rest of the group. She and Rika both were actually glad to see Ryo, although Rika would not admit that out loud. Still, Rika had hoped that she would have gotten the chance to fight him. Their last encounter while they both had their Digimon was neither the time nor the place during the D-reaper attack, and now they were right behind his school. All this time, she had never stopped considering him to be a rival, even though she did look up to him a bit as a person. He had been so courageous and so strong in the D-reaper incident.
She took a few steps closer to him, Renamon following her, until she was only a few feet away. She really didn't know what to say to him, it had been so long, and a fight hardly seemed appropriate. The times were so happy now. The tamers were being united with their Digimon, and yet, everything still seemed so peaceful. She wondered why that was. Last time the Digimon had come to the human world, it seemed there was a bit more of a reason to it... or maybe she just saw it that way.

Dropping his hands and straightening his stance, Ryo cleared his throat before stepping back. " Right, well I've missed you. " Started Ryo in a low voice before once again clearing his throat and continuing. "What are you doing back?" He didn't want to bring that up. He really didn't but he was curious. You couldn't blame him for it, his best friend his only real friend had been gone for two years. Not one, not for a few months, he had been gone for years, and now suddenly out of the blue he was back. He had a right to know why. He was happy to have him back but Digimon returning to the real world meant something was going on. It meant that they would have to fight again, Digimon weren't pets. It didn't matter if the tamers cared for them loved them even cause the Sovereigns already knew that. What mattered was they didn't belong in the human world, the belonged in their own world. So for them to just send them over to their tamers meant something was once again going down. The DigiDestined were needed yet again. Sighing softly Ryo remained quiet as Monodramon not only removed his arms from around his leg but looked up to meet his eye.
"I don't know." Answered Monodramon Softly before lowering his gaze. Ryo letting a low disappointed groan escape his lips lifted his hand and settled it on top of Monodramons horn. Petting him softly Ryo speaking in a low calm voice spoke. "Well what do you know?" Asked Ryo making sure to keep his voice light. Monodramon wasn't Cyberdramon. Monodramon was sensitive, he didn't like being yelled at. In fact he couldn't stand being yelled at. A whip wasn't need with him all Ryo really needed for handling Monodramon was a calm even voice. The kind of voice he was using now. Yelling and getting angry wasn't going to magically get him answers. Plus why would he yell at his best friend? Feeling Monodramon tense up under him Ryo stilled his hand. Taking a swift look down toward his partner Ryo slowly turned to where he was looking only to have a smirk develop on his features. Rika.
Rika he hadn't seen her in two years and yet she looked the same. While he wished he could say the same about him he really couldn't. Two years could change a guy and Ryo was no exception. But with Rika she still looked the same, and Ryo was happy for that. He liked Rika, she was funny, she was amusing, and it dind't hurt that she was cute. Letting a light chuckle escape his lips, Ryo momentary looked over toward Renamon before letting another light laugh escape his lips. If there was any tamer he had wanted to see again it had been Rika. She may not have liked him but he liked her which was why, even though this was supposed to be his and Monodramons time he wasn't angry. Hell he was the opposite of angry, he was ecstatic. He was surrounded by his favorite people, if he was unhappy about that then there was a problem. " Hey Renamon." Greeted Ryo making sure to give her a little smile before pushing Monodramon forward. "Hi." Mumbled the dragon softly before lowering himself to the ground. Averting his gaze over to his partner Ryo quickly looked him over for any damage before silently watching as the dragon softly leaned his head up against his leg. " He's tired I'm sure the trip was...." Letting his voice trail off Ryo once again turned his attention back over to Rika.
"Hey Pumpkin." Started Ryo using the same light tone he had used on Monodramon earlier. It was probably a bad idea to just go off and use his old nickname for her but hey Pumpkin was way better then his other name for her. Unless of course she liked being called a wildcat. "Let me guess" Pausing for a more dramatic effect Ryo winking and letting another laugh escape his throat continued. " Let me guess you missed your King right?" Asked Ryo with his head tilted slightly to the right and a smile gracing his features. It wasn't wise to taunt her but really could you blame him? Her little outburst and facial expressions were always amusing to watch. Plus she wouldn't walk away from him right? This was the first time they had seen each other in over two years. If anything she had to have missed him a little. She had to have at least missed their little game. He called her cute, she called him an annoying twerp. That was how they worked. He got on her nerves but she had to have missed him. If she didn't then she probably would walk away after his little comment but Ryo was really hoping she at least had missed him a little.

Rika actually was a bit disappointed that she had come all this way and there wasn't even a Digimon to fight. She had been looking forward to uniting with Renamon in battle a little. Nonetheless, she wasn't so disappointed that she had met up with Ryo and Monodramon. It appeared he had a Digimon too. The only question now was whether or not the rest of the Digidestined were going to get their Digimon back too, and if they were, whether all of the fighting would begin once again.
It seemed that Monodramon didn't know why he had come back to the Human World either. Rika found that strange. Didn't Digimon usually come to the human world on purpose? Digimon in Real life were nothing like the ones on the Television shows she had watched in Digimon Adventure and 02. Digimon usually sought out their tamers, and came to the Human World on their own accord. They weren't just magically transported there. There had to be a reason behind this. There had to be a purpose.
She had become deep in thought trying to figure out a reason to this. There had to be some kind of explanation. If only they had some clues... but they had nothing. The only thing she knew was that some more new Digidestined had appeared, and the old ones were getting their partners back. There had to be some cause.
Pumpkin?
Her concentration was broken upon hearing him call her that. A long time ago, that would have angered her. She would have wondered how he could have such little respect for her. She was the Digimon Queen, the best Digimon card player. He had beaten her once before, but she would have insisted that was luck. She hadn't told him, but since that day they were fighting the D-reaper, and she had seen him act so heroically and selflessly, her image of him had changed a bit. Maybe he really was the better tamer... her inner conflict had been resolved, not that she would admit it.
"Missed you?" She repeated. "Just as much as I miss fighting in the D-reaper."

Glancing away from Rika for a moment Ryo look down toward Monodramon sleeping soundly against his leg. It was weird how different Monodramon was from Cyberdramon. It was true he preferred the digimons ultimate form over his rookie one but Monodramon was a nice change of pace. With him around Ryo didn't have to worry about being dragged off to fight every digimon that came their way. If Cyberdramon had been around this nice civil little meeting wouldn't even be taking place right now. If he was around they would have been fighting and more then likely Cyberdramon would have come out on top. He was a beast, he was made for fighting, the guy practically lived for fighting. Ryo didn't mind it, he had chosen him just for the fact that Ryo could make him stronger. So Ryo couldn't get mad at him for wanting to fight all the time it was what he wanted. Ryo was more or less just there to make sure that if anything happened he could get Cyberdramon out of trouble before he got himself deleted. Lowering his right hand Ryo resumed his petting on the small dragon's horn. Monodramon wasn't bad to have around, at least now he wouldn't actually have to worry about losing his partner seeing a how the rookie preferred not to fight everybody who came his way. Plus his innocent nature, and his caring, kind hearted attitude was nice. The only reason he really preferred Cyberdramon over the rookie was because he had barely spent any time with him in this form. Hell Ryo had never even seen his champion or his mega form. When the time came for them to turn into Justimon Cyberdramon had just been there changed and ready to go to battle. Ryo had never questioned it and he probably never will because it was more or less a Digimon thing. He just had to accept that.
Letting a light laugh escape his throat Ryo watched as Monodramon shifted against his leg before dozing off yet again. " Right." muttered Ryo softly to himself before looking up and facing Rika again. Hearing her worlds Ryo couldn't keep a smile from appearing on his face. " If I remember correctly you didn't really fight in the D-Reaper. You kinda gave your power to...." Letting his voice trail off Ryo looked over at her with a smirk on his face. She had given his power to him, it hadn't done anything except make him stronger and drain her to the point where he actually had to carry her out. But at the time he had thought it would work and even though it didn't Ryo had been willing to sacrifice himself on the off chance that it might. He had been reckless and while others might have saw it as being selfless he had really been reckless. At that time he didn't know if Rika giving up her power would affect her, he didn't know if it could possibly kill her. He hadn't thought about her or himself or any kind of consequence when he had asked for her power. He had just asked and insisted when she worried about what would happen. "Have you spoken with any of the others? Do they have their partners back too?" Questioned Ryo hurriedly. He didn't want to start thinking about his "heroic" acts. Now was not the time for that. Rika was here and while it was nice to have a carefree conversation with her, questions needed to be answered. They were both Tamers they had a job to do, and no matter how much it would suck to lose their best friends again when it was all over they had to do their job. Him and the other couldn't just sit around and do nothing just so that they could keep their friends around forever, it didn't matter how tempting the offer was they had to do their job.
"You got Renamon back, I got Monodramon back, the other tamers digimon might or might not be coming back." Stopping for a minute to catch his breath Ryo continued. "What does this mean? We got to fight another D-Reaper or something? Monodamon doesn't really know anything but he tends to forget some things when he's Cyberdramon. So he might have forgotten what was going on when he changed." Explained Ryo before taking a quick glance over at Renamon. "Renamon do you know anything?" Asked Ryo his eyes darting back and forth between Tamer and Digimon as he spoke. Monodramon didn't know anything or if he did he had forgotten it but Renamon didn't suffer from the same things Cyberdramon did. She could control herself in her other forms. her personality and sanity stayed intact when she changed. So there was a way better chance of her knowing something more then Monodramon. Anything at all would be helpful at this point. The digimon weren't just back for the sake of it. They were back for a reason and the sooner they figured out why the sooner they could prepare themselves for what was to come. Who knows maybe with this new threat they needed something more powerful to defeat it. What if Bio-merging was enough?
(It sucks but braindead.)

Rika held her hand up to her chin as she thought. The question wasn't exactly difficult, but she did think that it would be best to think before she spoke. After all, this whole entire Digimon ordeal was pretty serious business. If there was a bigger meaning behind it, the earlier they could figure it out, the better for themselves and their Digimon partners. Still, regardless of how much she thought about it, there were no clues or leads to help them figure out what was going on, just occasional Digital breachings and new Digimon to fight.
"Nope... We're the only ones to get our Digimon back so far.'
In actuality, Rika hadn't actually taken the time yet to contact the other tamers to alert them that the Digimon were back, but simply knowing Takato, if he had gotten Guilmon back, he probably would have attempted to get in contact with her by now. As such, chances were that he hadn't received Guilmon yet. The same thing pretty much went for Henry and Jeri. This led her to believe that she was probably one of the first to be reunited with her own Digimon. On the other hand, she had seen some rather peculiar things recently.
"But, I did notice something a little strange. I've seen two new tamers recently, outside of our group from two years ago. This leads me to further question the reason why the Digimon are coming to the Human World."
The information Rika had given still didn't do much for helping her to figure out the cause. New tamers were appearing in the Digital, but what was the reason for it? Rika lowered her hand from under her chin and turned to face Ryo. That was really all that she had as far as leads, but still, that was better than nothing. Renamon then took a step forward, standing beside Rika.
"Well... When I was transported to the Human World, there was something very out of the ordinary," she began. "Usually when a Digimon comes to the Human World, it is by choice, like the first time I came, it was to seek out a tamer. This time, on the other hand, I was just transported here while minding my own business."
