[atrb=border,0,true]The tournament had finally begun. Digimon Island was opened and Rika was the first one here.
Luckily, today was the first day of summer vacation in Japan, and what that meant was that there would be no more school for a while now aside from the poor saps who ended up in summer school. What this meant is that many of the tamers could spend day after day here on the island. Rika would only go home when she was forced.
Wasting no time, Rika left directly from school for the island, and thus was still in her school's uniform. Slung over her shoulder was her briefcases strap. It was a bit heavy, however it had some very important things in it, such as her deck of cards, her digivice, her laptop, school books, and other personal supplies.
Arriving at the beach of the island, Rika was certain that she was the first to step foot on the island. Unless they had ditched school, it would be impossible for any other kids to beat her here today.
She hadn't noticed anyone else on the ferry, but she hadn't really cared to look either. What she did want to do, however, was be the first to uncover the secrets of the island.

KOJI
was restarting his road to glory again. He could only hope that he didn't fail again this time. A backpack was slung around his back as he would take one of the ferry's to Digimon Island. The tournament was being held there and he wondered what kind of talent it would bring. With it being an international selection this time, he figured that he would find some good opponents to face off with. He never even got to face off with the ones in the other districts, so this was going to prove rather interesting to the kid.
As the boat would soon dock, he would make his way from off the railing and head towards the exit ramp. Stepping off of the ramp, he would look around and notice another person there holding a briefcase and still in a school uniform. "Hmm." Was all that Koji would sum up to say. He would close his eyes and begin to walk further into the island.
Either she didn't have enough time to change or she just didn't take the time out for it. Which ever way, Koji wouldn't take someone still in uniform seriously. Yet, he had to admit she did look cute and like a possible good opponent but he felt that she would need to prove herself to him for him to take her seriously.

[atrb=border,0,true]So Rika had indeed been the first person on the island. She had verified it no less than 20 minutes ago when she'd taken a moment to walk around. What she was able to figure out in this short period of time was that no electronics other than digivices seemed to work on the island. She'd been unsuccessful in calling her mother to inform her that she'd gone straight to Nagasaki.... but it really didn't matter anyway. Her mother probably wouldn't notice her absence for a few more hours anyway.
Another thing that Rika had managed to notice by now was that there were various areas on this island... and depending on which area one was in, the Special Ability of his or her Digimon would likely receive an automatic powerup. Right now... she was once again on the beach, which likely meant Swimming Digimon had the advantage, though Rika wouldn't make any such conclusions just yet.
A second ferry soon arrived... Thirty minutes after her. It was just on time.
Rika turned to face the ferry, and a moment later, a singular boy emerged from the port. It was Koji Minamoto! He was the Runner-up champion of Shibuya. Of course she'd recognize him.... He was in a sense like her, though it was unlikely that she was nearly as talented. Her eyes would lock contact with his in an almost menacing glare. What would his first action be?

KOJI
would soon stop as a name popped into his head once he recognized the face of another runner up. Rika Nonaka from the Shinjuki area, he would take a glance back over his shoulder as notice her glaring at him. Seemed that she was already looking to prepared to show her stuff side, but why should Koji care? On one hand, he had someone of possibly his same caliber to test Strabimon out against. On the other hand, he could only see her being like most kids that he didn't get along with. Maybe she wasn't on the same maturity level as him yet but he wouldn't entertain either thought.
He would wait til he meet another person to test himself against. Another battle with another female in such a short time, Koji felt the need to take a break from them. Turning his head back around, he would look around to figure out which way he should head. His left hand gripped the shoulder strap of his back pack. It was hard to figure out what to do next, nor could he really tell if anyone else was here besides him and the girl. Yet, the boat was empty when it left the docks.
Pulling out his phone to check the time, he would notice that it wasn't working properly. Flipping it closed, he wouldn't worry about it. Not like that many called for him anyway. If people wanted to find him, they knew where he would be. Sliding the phone back into his jacket pocket, he would tighten his grip on his backpack and continue to walk forward, after the last time, he was never approaching a female tamer. It was lucky for him and the last girl that it still ended up on a somewhat good note, but she was more full of herself than even he was.

[atrb=border,0,true]Koji proceeded to pay her very little attention. As a matter of fact, he was so snobbish that rather than even acknowledge her, he'd turn completely away. Rika'd do little more than huff.
For such a tamer who was supposed to be talented, she already had him pegged as something of a coward. There was no other explanation, for there was no one else on this little island yet. Unless he planned to explore just as she had already done.
"Whatever." she scoffed audibly before turning away from him too.

CONTINUING ON,
the male would try to shift through the sand without falling down or possibly breaking his angle. Yet, the sand didn't make it that hard to walk through it as he thought. Making it to the area that lead off of the beach, he would work to check out the island. It really sucked to know that no one else was here yet, but at least he got the chance to check the area out.
He was learning how each field had it's advantages. This would prove to be rather interesting, he couldn't wait to get Strabimon going so that he could show the rest of the tamers how it's done. He would flick his wrist as his digivice flew into his hand. Well, it seemed that anything not part of this island or made for it doesn't work here. That was something to remember for the next time he came.
Heading back to the beach, he would wake Strabimon up from his nap. "Today is the day my friend." Stepping back onto the beach front, he would notice the girl still there. Seemed that it was best to wait for the rest of the competition, he was interested to see the faces that came through.

[atrb=border,0,true]Rika sighed.
She'd instead reach into her briefcase to pull out her deck of cards and proceed to shuffle through them. She'd need to figure out some type of strategy in this if she was going to win, and she'd need to have the cards organized in a fashion that she'd be able to draw them quickly should she need them. After all, a tamer needed to be quick to the draw or else he or she may miss out on the opportunity to use the right card. She needed to know exactly what she had in her deck and be able to get to the card at the right second.
"This will do for an order, I suppose..."
Rika returned her deck back into her briefcase once more and instead withdrew her Digivice. Within it, Renamon was alert as ever. For a Digimon, Renamon really didn't need much care. She was very independent, and it was for this reason that Rika liked her so much. All she needed to do was feed her and let her go to the bathroom every day and try to help her fight... and she'd be happy. She didn't need to cuddle her or show great deals of affection.
Rika would toggle over to the food icon, granting Renamon her daily meal. Following this, she'd return the digivice back into her briefcase as well.

LOOKING OFF
into the distance, Koji realized that it may be awhile til more people actually came. This slightly disappointed him cause he didn't think that he would be one of the first ones here. The only person that he had to waste some time with and test himself possibly against was Rika. She could pose a challenge to the boy but would she be another person that he would get annoyed by? Strabimon was ready, he knew he was, he could feel that he was somehow.
Looking back in her, he would see that she had brought out her digivice. That briefcase did make her seem a bit more mature than other kids he had met. Yet, maybe it was just a ploy to make herself feel more mature. Koji would contemplate if he should actually do actually confront her or not. She did look as if she was a strong opponent, but the bandanna wearing kid still had that conflict within him of whether she was worth his time.
Turning his body in her direction, he would tighten his grip on his backpack and begin to walk towards her. As he got closer to the red head, he would watch her place her digivice back into her briefcase. That seemed silly to him, to have to be able to constantly pull it out while on the island from within a briefcase, it would be best to have it in an easier access place while here, in his opinion.
"Rika Nonaka, runner-up of the Shinjuki are if I'm not mistaken."

[atrb=border,0,true]Some moments later, that boy, Koji, hadfi nally approached her. So he wasn't so snobbish after all. Or at the very least he had figured out that he likely wasn't going to get any other type of competition at this tourney at this point in time.
They were still waiting for the other kids to make it. Until then, things were going to be pretty boring here. 200 kids total... and it seemed not many had been willing to leave school early to get her. Well, it merely showed that they did not have as much determination as she and Koji did.
"Did you want to duel?"
