The game is intended for children, but people of all ages can be found playing it. The game itself is most unique because everyone's experience is different and no two digimon are the exact same meaning every playthrough will yield different results. By connecting the Digivice to a computer, the holder can upload his Digimon into the three dimensional Digital World where he can guide the Digimon through the MMO-like universe. He can team up with other tamers to fight wild Digimon, or challenge other players to combat while working through infinitely many quests. The possibilities are truly endless. THE VIRTUAL PET Each Digivice manufactured serves as a home to a single Digimon. When a perspective tamer purchases a Digivice, he or she can purchase the model which contains the Fresh form he or she so desires. However, from that point onward the digimon will digivolve based on its own unique properties, how much care it receives, and its relationship with its tamer. There is no telling how many different ways the Digimon can grow! Digimon have needs. They grow hungry, sleepy, and sometimes they may need a toilet. Each need is indicated by a dialogue symbol above the Digimon's head within which is an illustration of whatever he or she requires. A tamer who cares well for the Digimon will select the appropriate icon at the top of the device which accommodates its needs. For example if the Digimon is hungry, the tamer will select the meat icon, or if the Digimon needs to go potty, the tamer will select the toilet icon. Tamers can also battle one another wirelessly through their Digivices. so long as they are within 30 feet of each other. This can be done via selecting the "dual" icon on the digivice. The Digimon battle in a turn-based system while the tamer can powerup his or her Digimon with Digimodify cards. Digimodify cards can be purchased at various shops. They carry collectible items used to power up Digimon during battles against other Digimon. Each Digimondify card can only be used once every twenty-four hours, and thus having duplicates of a card can be useful if someone wants to gain that effect more than once. Tamers trade Digimodify cards with each other in order to get decks which better compliment their Digimon. Purchased cards are almost always distributed at random. Buying specific cards from any vendor is almost always very expensive. Digimodify cards are able to change the course of any digi-battle and thus, aside from the Digivice, they are the most important tool of any tamer. All Digimon have natural weaknesses which must be overcome if one wants to become the Digimon Champion, and Digimodify allows tamers to create the strategies necessary to do so. Once per turn, a tamer can swipe a card to power up his or her little friend. FEATURES >> The Digimon needs no care while the Digivice is off, allowing the tamer to take a break from raising the Digimon. However, the game can be left on at all times s well so long as the Digimon is tended to every hour or so. >> The Digimon can be reconfigured by pressing the reset button on the back of the digivice with a pin, allowing the tamer to start over completely with training his/her Digimon should the Digivolution path not be favorable. DIGIMON ONLINE The gaming experience can be taken one step farther when a Tamer uploads his or her Digimon to a Digimon Online Server. This can be done by connecting the Digivice to a Computer via a USB cable. The game continues much similarly to the way it is on the digivice, however now a Digimon must roam and the tamer must guide the Digimon to finding its needs. If a Digimon is hungry, it must find food, or if it needs to use the bathroom, well, there are random toilets scattered all over the wilderness. Convenient right? However what many more people are interested in are the battles. On Digimon Online, tamers will find a never-ending supply of wild Digimon to serve as enemies. Likewise there are many other players to team up with and battle online as well. Wild Digimon who are defeated can be "Loaded" (i.e. their data is absorbed to make the tamer's Digimon stronger). When a tamer's Digimon is defeated it will return to the Digivice and the tamer will not be able to upload the Digimon again for 24 hours. Tamers can participate in online events and quests as they please. In this game, however, the quests are infinite and no two quests are the same. There are an infinite number of possibilities and many area lords to combat. Tamers can also find arenas in the games where tournaments are held every Saturday. And once a year, a regional tournament is held to determine the Digimon Champion in each region. This is based off of the player's server. There are only four Digimon Champions at any given time. Tamers can create and name guilds which allow them to play with other tamers as a group. The one who creates a guild is the Team Leader and is responsible for recruiting others into the guild. In this mode of cooperation, tamers can locate their allies and support them in any battles or quests. Each Digimon is limited to being a member of two guilds and can only own one guild. Those who own guilds are able to create bases for their guilds which may be villages, campsites, or caves and wilderness. They can grow over time as members purchase more commodities. If a Tamer connects a webcam and audio to his or her computer, he or she will be able to communicate with other tamers. In addition, rather than aiding the Digimon through the select menus, the tamer can speak directly to the Digimon and send suggestions via this method. Of course, as always, whether or not the Digimon listens to his or her tamer will depend on its loyalty and level of obedience. FEATURES >> As soon as the Digivice is disconnected from the computer, the Digimon will return to its Digivice. |
