"Sometimes I regret my choice, but living oppressed and forced into slavery can be worse than death"
He continued accumulating power and by now he already saved enough power to deal as much if not more damage than he would usually deal were he equipped with his wand, but that wasn't enough, he had to continue even if the excess of power caused his body to begin hurting to cause as much damage as possible with a single shot. With bishopchessmon as enemy, it was going to be very hard to find an opportunity for a direct impact and he had to make his single attack matter as creating a new attack opportunity would be hard.
Apparently the enemy thought that wizardmon was about to attack and immediately retaliated with a high speed laser that would be very hard to avoid, but the wizard digimon already had in mind that possibility and jumped as fast as possible from the enemy beam, which grazed his right leg and burned his cloth and skin, causing moderate pain on the affected area.
It could've been worse Mir thought as he decided to take flight and abandon the safety of the woods. Those lasers weren't something that could be ignored and if he persisted in fighting on ground level there was the possibility of one of those lasers reaching Mistral and kill her. Sure, a wizardmon's flight ability was pretty subpar compared with actual flying digimon as he used his magical power to levitate, but that was better than risking his human companion's life and the bishop laser had a small area of effect, so he could take the hit as long those beams didn't hit any of his vital points like his heart or his head.
From above he watched the sangloupmon make his movement and it actually suceed in hitting the foe, although the effect wasn't very impressive. That was the perfect opportunity to attack the enemy .... but not yet, he needed to accumulate more power to deal critical damage. As his magical energy increased, the wizardmon was beginning to feel a small pain on his body, the time to launch his attack was near and if only the sangloupmon could create another distraction the next time ...

Sangloupmon's attack had landed to decent effect, for a champion level going against an Ultimate. However, the element of surprise was now gone, and the BishopChessmon had backed himself into a tree after sending an attack at Wizardmon, who had shot a rather weak electrical attack. That was odd, he could have sworn Wizardmon was stronger than that. Then he noticed his staff was missing. How the heck did he lose that?
Now the magician digimon was storing energy for an attack, but was taking his sweet time in doing it. Well, he might as well keep their opponent busy in the meantime. Once again, he melted into the shadows at the edge of the forest. While he couldn't go at the BishopChessmon from behind, he still had options to choose from.
Meanwhile, Amber had run straight back to her den, and was watching the battle through her digivice. Next stage of her strategy was up next. She pulled her digi-copy card from her deck, and swiped it through her digivice. If two digimon were not enough to do good damage against the ultimate digimon, how about three?
Of course, while the clone appeared, it appeared melted with the shadows as the original was, and since the BishopChessmon was only aware of having two opponents, the element of surprise was back in Sangloupmon's court. That surprise however, would wait until later. He still had other ideas up his sleeve and the clone's revelation could wait. He may not be able to attack from behind, but how about... Above? Sangloupmon slipped through the shadows on the tree the BishopChessmon was backed into, and materialized above him, and sent a rain of sticker blades straight down on the enemy as he leaped over him.

- You knew the risks then, and were well aware of consequences of resistance. And sealed the fate of your hometown. - the bishopchessmon stated calmly at the wizardmon's reply. He wasn't excusing his actions, he never regretted any of them, for if he would have spend time regretting every last petty village he razed that way, all those who were too stupid to surrender, he'd spend eternity mourning about it. Hah, never. He did what he did. The laser attack managed to lay some hurting on the wizardmon, but not enough to break his spell. Well, maybe this next attack he would launch at him would - the scepter of his was glowing with bright light now, ready to unleash the attack.
But when he was about to do that, he heard the sound of blades piercing through the air above him, and the next moment the rain of little blades came down, ricocheting from his helmet and sticking into his shoulder armor. A few lucky piercings here and there, they caused some pain, but hardly any critical damage - these were rather annoying too, but the general could take a lot more of those before even starting to think about going down. He looked up and saw the vampire wolf that launched those leaping down over him. A mistake he will regret.
- Tch. - the bishopchessmon did not lose his cool, and, when the digimon was at point - blank range, launched the attack he was going to use on wizardmon - he summoned a giant flaming bishop cross, which was comparable in size with the summoner himself, and launched it at the wolf as he was about to land on the ground in front of him. Escaping such an attack at point - blank range would be immensely difficult, since the cross-shaped energy thingy's speed was only a tad bit slower than his bishop laser attack...

"Our fate is not something the likes of you can decide, and for your crimes we will offer you the same sympathy you showed to all the digimon your killed"
The bishopchessmon black deserved not the wizardmon's mercy, his crimes weighted too much and his absolute refusal to accept he did anything wrong only sentenced him to be punished with death. The energy Mir accumulated was finally starting to strain his body and now it was the time to unleash an unusually powerful lightning magic on the enemy; the foe was distracted by the surprise attack of the sangloupmon and that was the opportunity the magical digimon waited for: He dived towards the cunning digimon by using gravity and his own magical power to push himself as strong as possible against the enemy, and as soon he were sure he could land a pinpoint attack, he would release the magic. He hoped that until he reached the enemy his body resisted any kind of retaliation from the chessmon and continued his suicidal dive against the enemy; the outcome of his daring maneuver would determine if he would unleash his charged magical power right there, or if he would be forced to use his trump card, a special magic that he saved only for situations in which he would have to bet his own life for victory.

Sangloupmon's attack had once again hit it's mark, dealing another round of not too much damage. Before Sangloupmon could even land though, the bishop digimon fired and attack at him and sent him flying into the ground, fire burning him harshly. He was far from giving up though. It was only a matter of time they'd take him down. They may have lost their fight to him in the digital world, but now they were stronger, had greater support backing them up, and this time they weren't going to be dragged into some other world before they could finish the fight!
Meanwhile Amber slipped out a new card for phase 3. Not too different from her usual strategy, but it would work far better for Sangloupmon. "Digimodify! Counter Attack activate!" She said, swiping the card through her digivice. It was a card that raised a digimon's power level up one if their opponent was of higher level. As BishopChessmon was ultimate and he champion, it brought Sangloupmon's power up to ultimate level.
Sangloupmon felt the power of the counter attack card course through him. Now was the time to deal some real damage on this monster. He slipped back into shadows. It was time to bring that copy, and element of surprise back into play. Sangloupmon shifted position, and rose up from the right of the BishopChessmon, and fired another sticker blade attack. While the first Sangloupmon was in full view of the BishopChessmon, the second went up the tree and jumped out from above the BishopChessmon and fired its own barrage of sticker blades.

Ha! The flaming cross attack hit the annoying vampire wolf square on! He should be in much, much pain now, because no champion can shrug the most powerful attack this ultimate had. However, the enemy digimon was not put out of commission yet, and again jumped into shadows, disappearing. This was getting tiresome. Bastard scum... - the bishopchessmon thought warily. There was nothing he could do though - with this ability the damn dog could show up virtually from anywhere. But there was someone who deserved his attention though. The wizardmon, whose energy ball was growing bigger, and who charged at him the next moment.
- I need not your sympathy. - the bishopchessmon retorted, and pointed the scepter at the wizardmon, the staff started glowing with bright light, he gathered maximum power in it to hit the arrogant scum straight in the face with his laser. His kind had perfect command of their offensive abilities, and were able to charge their attacks for max power within a very short while. However, he did not shoot, when hearing blades flying at him from the side.
- You blasted dog... - he growled, using his own arm as a shield to block this attack. This was the reason he was not damaged by this attack as badly as it could have been - the blades pierced his arm, but not any vital organs, if he had any. It was "the original" enemy, scourged marks indicated this. And then the attack from above came. It was slightly off-sync with the first one, so when the bishopchessmon turned to face the first sangloupmon, he unintentionally evaded a direct hit, second set of blades only scraping across his armored back, as the second sangloupmon landed on the ground.
- Eat this! - the bishopchessmon exclaimed AFTER launching the ray of powerful laser aiming straight at the original sangloupmon's head and torso, the laser that was meant for the wizardmon was shot at the vampire wolf once again, and was coming at him with a frightening speed only a laser can reach. This fight was indeed a desperate one ... for both parties...

Finally, the wizardmon managed to reach his target after his aerial dive thanks to the many distractions sangloupmon provided and now he finally was at point black range. He placed his hands next to the bishopchessmon and unleashed the magic he had been charging for 4 minutes.
"I, who stand in the full light of the heavens command thee, who opens the gates of Hell. Come forth, divine lightning!"
And then he unleashed directly next to his target the strongest lightning elemental magic a wizardmon has ever used, a super charged thunder ball at point blank range that even with the lack of his wand would surely injure even ultimate level digimon. The magical digimon could sense how his leather hide gloves started to burn out from the intense lightning in front of them and the skin in his hands suffered of medium-grade burns as his very own body while capable of creating magical lightning was not immune to the very power he manipulated.
Such was the intense light from the ultimate-level supercharged lightning magic that the wizardmon couldn't see what happened, but he really hoped the attack connected. If the enemy were to avoid it at the last second, then all his effort would've been for naught and he would have to rethink how to deal with him. It was quite sad, that this was a desperate attack to compensate for his weakened wand-less state and in case of failing it wasn't very likely the chessmon would give him the opportunity to charge another high-powered attack

Amber continued to watch the battle through her digivice. By now she knew the BishopChessmon had made a habit of attacking Sangloupmon immediately after he attacked himself, and she already had a card ready for when it came. "Digimodify, Gate of Destiny activate!" She said, swiping the card through her digivice. The direct result was a pair of gate of destinys appearing infront of each Sangloupmon. The copy's gate only sucked in air pointlessly as no attack was directed at it. The original's however, sucked in the laser attack, then promptly closed and vanished.
"Yummy." Sangloupmon remarked with much snark. He told him to eat it, and in a way he did eat up the attack, just not quite how the BishopChessmon likely imagined it happening. Unfortunately, diving into the shadows was straining him a bit, so he chose to stay out for now. He could still land a hit without it. Good thing Wizardmon was giving him a good alternative cover with his attack creating such a blinding light. Both Sangloupmon fired their sticker blades toward the BishopChessmon. Even if Wizardmon's attack missed, by the time the light faded enough to see it would be too late.

Things were looking bad for BishopChessmon - the enemy's attacks were becoming stronger by the moment, and they somehow used these ... strange abilities to absorb his own. But ... how? No sangloupmon could do what he did! Maybe they developed these new abilities out of spite and for the sole reason to see him dead? Maybe, maybe... Still the general would fight this to the end. He will not waver, cower, or beg for mercy. A stalwart soldier to the bitter end.
Then he saw this blinding light next to him. Oh no! In his fight with sangloupmons, he completely forgot about the wizard, who now managed to get close enough to throw whatever attack he was cooking up straight to the face. The trademark electric blast, only charged up to the max to be as strong as an ultimate - this thought went through the bishopmon's head within a moment. Out of reflex, his steel-clad arm reached out for the wizard just before the electric blast stroke him, sending a powerful current right through his body, and through everything and everyone that went in physical contact with him...
- I'm ... not done yet... - he said with bated breath, still alive, but in much, much pain. His armor did not defend against such an attack, only made it worse. But it was not over just yet, as the sticker blades came from both sides, some ricocheting from armor, yet most went half-way through, causing much pain, and sticking out of the plates like spines of a hedgehog. The bishopchessmon fell on his one knee, his powers were failing him.
- Hrrrr... You will die with me. - he said upon charging his staff in a nick of time, gathering what was left of his energy for one final blast against the wizardmon, who was now at point-blank range, and probably injured by his own attack. The bishopchessmon swung his staff, and a ray of blinding white energy went with light speed straight at the magician, to evaporate him upon contact...

Success! The wizardmon's patience bore fruit and his supercharged thunder ball landed on the cruel enemy, but ....
Hnnnn!!"
Bishopchessmon was cunning till the very end and seeing through the unavoidable attack, decided to take the wizard digimon with him and grabbed his hand, sharing with him the electric discharge. Mir could only clench his teeth as his very power was frying his body. Once the lightning ball dissipated, the wizardmon was barely conscious at mercy of the bishopchessmon who still wielded a strong grip on his arm. However, the combined pain from the lightning magic and the meat shredding blades finally took their toll on the enemy and the bishop finally kneel in front of the wizardmon and released him from his grip.
The cruel tactician was on his deathbed, but even with his body succumbing to the accumulated damage, he mustered enough energy to release a final attack on the wizardmon, one that was unavoidable for the heavily damaged sorcerer.
"..."
Then a miracle happened and a barrier protected the wizardmon. It was the doing of Mistral, who saw the battle through the digivice and at the nick of time used the never better named wizardmon's spell to save the digimon of which it received its name.
Once the danger was gone, the barrier shattered, having fulfilled its goal, and the wizardmon lost the magic of evolution. He suffered so much damage that the effect of the armor evolution broke off and de-evolved into lunamon, a form that needed of less energy to sustain its existence.
