It had been a few days since Dorumon had first met Renee, and received her first delivery of fresh forest grown goods. The lupine raptor hadn't had much confidence in how good and how much these would actually be, but he had ended up quite surprised. Both good, and there was quite a bit too. Not enough to get them permanently off their need for stolen goods, but they wouldn't be needing to do too much if Renee could keep this up.
Dorumon had told Amber about Renee and what the Youkomon was doing for them, as carefully as he could. Amber as was the case recently, was not entirely approving of the deal, but didn't bother him too much about it. It would take some time for Amber to open up to another, but hopefully Amber could find a new friend in Renee.
It was early afternoon, and Amber and Dorumon had only just returned after another run trying to collect berries and whatever food he could find growing amongst the bushes of the forest. As usual, he didn't find much. Too bad Renee didn't have time to give him a lesson on growing their own food. It was difficult to imagine that the fox and her child were able to grow such good food as what they had given them, while Amber's own garden was... rather pathetic looking and not working out so well.
Amber herself was busy stitching up a hole that had been torn in the knee of her pants when Dorumon came in. "Anything good?" She asked Dorumon, though she kept her eyes on her own work.
"Same as usual." Dorumon muttered, setting the bag of berries down next to the bags that the food Renee brought them were stored in. His catch looked even more poor right next to it. He however, didn't have time to contemplate how craptacular he and Amber were at growing and scavenging decent food when the fur on the back of his neck suddenly rose, and Amber's digivice started going off.
"It's nearby, lets go." Amber said, abandoning her work and bolting out of the den before Dorumon could even pinpoint the eerily familiar scent he was picking up.
Dorumon ran after her, pulling ahead of his partner and it was not long before they reached the digital field, and and passed through it. When Dorumon finally recognized the scent, he felt a mixture of rage and fear. This digimon haunted his dreams, was responsible for the deaths of many of his comrades. Now he was trapped between the decision to run, and the decision to avenge is fallen packmates and ensure this monster didn't harm another one of his friends again. Unfortunately, running wasn't even an option here... They were simply too close to home and they had no where else to run to.

"Renee is not in the usual place ... she must be right now busy with her own issues."
Since his previous meeting with the youkomon and after cooling down a bit his mind, the Lunamon made an habit of once a while visiting Renee when there was no spirited away digimon activity in the vicinity, the moon bunny liked to have another smart person to talk with and the magician girl liked the forest, it always was a refreshing place to be and the breeze carried with it the smell of flowers and the trees.
"Tee hee, I like that fox magical being, she smells like flowers and cake"
The first impression she had of the mystic fox wasn't a good one, but the following one changed everything for the better and now she didn't see her like a mean bean nasty and tasty digimon anymore and the refreshing feeling the forest had certainly made her mind feel clearer, now she was capable of *gasp* sometimes having normal chat topics believe it or not, although she was still far from being normal again.
Alas, their time of relax was soon over as Mistral's digivice detected a digital field forming somewhere in the vast forest. Together they raced after the source of the signal until they entered into the fog covered area in which the digimon appeared, with some luck it would be a good digimon, with back luck an aggressive one who wouldn't accept reasoning with them, until they found it in the middle of this place with place with really poor visibility, they couldn't know that the foe in question was somebody the lunamon knew well from the past ...

Black Omnimon did not quite like that things with capture of Calumon did not go as planned. the arrogant earth creatures resisted his incursions times too many, putting up vicious resistance and killing even the best of his agents. His inability to deal with it was frustrating, as rumors about this failure spread across the digital world. After hearing that many digimon who go there die, the Real World soon became called "The deathtrap". However, there was still use in the resistance that the humans put up... Since they killed pretty much anyone who got into their world, a practice of ... getting rid of people the Mighty Ruler didn't like became common. And a certain someone managed to fall out of favor...
As the digital mist settled down, it was possible to finally see the one who emerged from it. To humans who could have been witnesses to it, the mighty figure would have looked impressive, but it was also feared greatly on the battlefields of the digital world. Black armor from tip to toe, a dark violet cape twisting in the wind, and a scepter staff in one hand. Plus an immovable, still expression of one's face... It looked both impressive and intimidating.
The blackbishopchessmon was send here, as most of Black Omnimon's agents, for two reasons. First was to capture calumon of course, but second... You see, the mighty general, who lead black omnimon's forces to victory, who purged countless cities in his name with brutal efficiency, well, some thought he was becoming too powerful. Too ... dangerous. While not a top fighter, but an ingenious commander, he was feared by the court, so ... they set things up against him, and now he was here, to "continue the expansion in the human world". With no army to back him up...
- And they said they'll send an army afterwards... Whom are they trying to fool? - the bishopmon said bitterly, his staff knocking at the ground heavily and rhythmically. - The cowards, the fools... They all scheme something when my master turns his back around, and now I am accused of treason... So be it. Despite the banishment, I shall redeem myself in master's eyes. By accomplishing his task ... through any means necessary... - the digimon said to himself, climbing on a small cliff on the edge of the forest, from which it was possible to see the city. Black Omnimon, mayhaps, did a great mistake here. He banished the only person who followed him not because of fright...

Amber's gaze shot to Mir and Mistral and she glared daggers at them both. What were they doing here of all places? No matter. She promised to destroy them the next time they met, and she planned on fulfilling that promise. "Dorumon! You're target is there." Amber ordered, pointing at Lunamon and his tamer. "Destroy them now!"
Dorumon blinked, at first confused as his focus had been solely on BlackBishopChessmon who was no where near where Amber had pointed. When he shot a look where she was pointing though. Oh crap. "We have bigger problems Amber!" Dorumon called back to his partner.
Now how was he supposed to go about this? He couldn't fight the BishopChessmon on his own, and he couldn't just leave him be to destroy his new home. His gaze shifted reluctantly to Lunamon. "For the sake of stopping this piece of scum from destroying our new home and avenging our comrades that fell fighting him in the digital world, how about we team up to take him down?" Dorumon suggested. Mir was not his best idea for a partner, but he was all he had to work with. He could only pray the Lunamon didn't decide to choose this time to go on another long lecture or speech, though that was pretty much like praying for the sun not to come up.
Amber snorted at Dorumon, but pulling out her digivice and scanning the digimon, she guessed she had to agree. BishopChessmon (Black), ultimate level virus digimon. Special attack Bishop Laser. They had never went up against an ultimate level digimon before, and Dorumon could only hold his champion form for so long. Fortunately for them, the BishopChessmon didn't seem to even acknowledge their existance as he took off to the edge of the forest and up a cliff. She didn't approve at all of Dorumon suggesting they team up. How could he think he could even rely on that digimon? Whatever. Once the BishopChessmon was dealt with, the vermin rabbit and her tamer were next.

Apparently the dynamic duo took too long find the digital field because no sooner they arrived, the mist quickly dissipated and once more visibility was back to normal levels. What's more, not very far from their current location there was dorumon and her partner, previous veiled by the mist but now exposed at simple sight and to add to the weirdness, the digimon they were looking for was right in front of them, clearly visible as he was on top of a small cliff. His appearance seemed familiar, but until looking at his face he couldn't recognize who he was.
The lunamon was more than ready to simply ignore the dorumon and run after the spirited away digimon to warn it about the danger that represented being within the territory of that fierce beast digimon, but the unexpected happened and dorumon spoke words that made him realize who was the unknown digimon: It was a black bishopchessmon and not just a random one, it was the one who attacked their home a long time ago.
"Are you sure it is the correct black bishopchessmon and not another one?"
He said at the dorumon while both he and his companion were hiding between the bushes and trees behind the black digimon. It was true that a dorumon's ability to pick the smell of other digimon was one of the best, but it had been so long since that battle that he wasn't sure if the small beast digimon remembered correctly his scent. Just in case they were wrong, the lunamon quietly stayed hiding and spying what the newcomer was saying and doing, he needed solid proof that he was the man who destroyed his home and not a mere normal black bishopchessmon.

Dorumon looked at the Lunamon incredulously. Now was not the time to be questioning things! "Do you seriously think I'd forget the scent of the scumbag responsible for the deaths of so many of my friends and Comrades?!" The Dorumon barked furiously. There was no doubt in his mind about this. He would never forget the scent of this digimon. The one who destroyed his home, killed many of his friends and neighbours, and haunted his dreams.

The bickering between the two small digimon was certainly not the smartest thing they could have done considering the situation. The bishopchessmon maybe was deep in his thoughts about the situation he was in now, but he certainly was not deaf. And managed to catch quite a few words the digimon shared between each other, particularly the word "scum". He was not going to take that from anyone, especially enemies.
- So... the kind court-rats send me right into the middle of an enemy lair to ensure my death. I will disappoint them by surviving... - he said to himself, turning around to face the enemy. However, he saw none. He was on a clearing, but there was a forest surrounding him, and whoever wanted to fight him were hiding in it. He would have to lure them out in the open, and he knew how.
- People die in war. - he stated calmly, as response to one of the accusations he overheard, his scepter hitting the ground with a clang, and launching a long laser blast across a wide arch of trajectory. Whether it hit the digimon or not, the ray set the bushes and vegetation on fire, which was precisely what the black bishop wished to do. If the enemy was hiding, he'd lure them out with fire and smoke. Like a rat from it's hole. Ruthless? Yes. But that's how he rolled. During his campaigns he used most inhumane weapons to break the resistance. The enemies would have no choice - they'd come out and face death, or they die, suffocating from smoke, or in fires...

People often says that actions speaks more than words and in this case that old saying was dead on right, that foul strategy to lure enemies out, and that voice .... the dorumon was right, HE was that one digimon who destroyed their peaceful life a long time ago and now it was the time for payback.
Those memories of the past returned to the lunamon's mind, that one powerful foe who was always one step ahead him and countered every strategy the wizardmon created, every single one of them. Mind you, while not a digimon born to be a tactician, the sagacious digimon was smart enough to have the potential to become one, but almost anything he planned was overcome by the superior tactical mind of his foe, a veteran general who was well versed in the art of war and whom an amateur strategist like the wizardmon had no chance of beating in an actual tactical battle. However, they were no longer in the battlefield and the cunning and evil chessmaster now had to rely on his own strength than in the one of his pawns.
"People indeed dies in war, but it is a leader's duty to prevent pointless bloodshed"
When he left his hideout within the woods, the lunamon was already a wizardmon, who used the beams of light and fire to conceal the light of his evolution, even such a great tactician like black bishopchessmon wouldn't realize it was a tamer induced evolution and both his and dorumon's most prized weapon in this battle was the fact the enemy knew not they had companions who shared their strength with them. Hopefully both Mistral and Amber would realize how letting him know about their existence would make this battle even harder as the foe was ruthless and would offer no sympathy for the humans.
"Black bishopchessmon, it might've been just a normal day for you, but the day you orchestrated the destruction of my home city was a day any survivor from that incident would never forget"
It was a cheesy dialog of the kind wizardmon always uses, but it had a greater meaning behind than just being cheesy dialog for the sake of being melodramatic, he was actually buying time for dorumon to prepare himself to attack this strong opponent. Black bishopchessmon was extremely intelligent and if he noticed their little chat, he already knew there was a second digimon hiding there and waiting for a chance for a surprise attack. The wizard digimon hoped that dorumon and amber played smart and planned very well their movement, the more unpredictable the better as the cruel tactician would see through not well thought surprise attacks and in fact he might be already thinking about how to deal with an incoming back attack as the wizardmon attempted to stall him for a chance to strike him.
Anyway, after speaking his cheesy lines, Mir charged electricity into his hands and saved up electric magic energy to be used in the future, he only possessed a fraction of his true power without his magical wand and he needed to charge for longer energy to produce the same results he would get normally with his wand.

Well, it didn't take long for the Bishopchessmon's intentions to become painfully obvious enough for even Lunamon to comprehend. Unfortunately, what made it clear was a blast of fire near Lunamon's position. "Get some distance. Don't come near the battle zone." Dorumon muttered to his tamer. Amber nodded and moved away from the smoke and flames and away from the battlefield.
While Lunamon masked the light of his evolution, Dorumon didn't bother to hide it at all, and let the light of his evolution give away... his current position. The second he was able to, Sangloupmon melted into the shadows before an attack could be fired on him. Now that the BishopChessmon believed him to be there, he moved through the shadows into position diagonal to the right and behind the BishopChessmon, before rematerializing again, and firing a barrage of blades at the BishopChessmon.

Bishopchessmon's eyes focused immediately on the figure that emerged from the forest after he set it ablaze. So his idea worked out good enough - at least one of the enemies decided to come out. The other ... well, he did not quite know where he was, so he guessed he just needed to wait till smoke and fire get to him, not knowing that sangloupmon was already creeping up behind him. But he had an opponent to deal with at present moment. He vaguely remembered the wizardmon. Yet another leader of some town he destroyed. Well that was no surprise at all...
- I remember you... I think. Yes, I do now. And your town. I remember I offered a choice - to surrender or perish. You said you'd rather die free than live on knees. You should have surrendered... - he said, and when the wizardmon was preparing a lightning ball at him, he responded with a bishop laser, which traveled at much faster rate, and straight at the wizardmon, dodging this attack would be quite hard... The attack from behind, however, was not expected.
- The forsaken court prepared good assassins to ensure my demise... - he grunted as the tiny blades hit his side. Most were stopped by his heavy armor, but some went through, causing nasty pain, but he could take it. They were mere champions, he was an ultimate. A general is useless without his army... Says who? The tall bishop took several steps back, so that he would have both enemies in sight, and pressed his back against a trunk of a large tree. He would not get attacked from behind again. Focusing energy in his scepter, he made it glow with bright light, getting his attack ready...
