After some minutes of staggering around blind in the alleyway, the bullies had recovered from Kudamon's blinding attack. "What the heck was that?" He asked, rubbing his forehead which was aching quite a bit from the visual assault. He looked around. Darn. Shana escaped! He'd just have to beat it into her again after school tomorrow, and that other guy too! He was going to make him pay for interfering with his gang!

The other three simply shrugged to their leader's question. No one really got a good look at the guy's rat or whatever the guy did to make it shine so brightly. "Well I still got Shana's bag!" said one of the boys, holding it up to them.

"Gimme that." He said, snatching the bag away from him. He dumped the bag's contents. Mostly school books and similar supplies. A small bit of money as well, but it wasn't much at all. "Figures. Shana is as poor as hobo." He remarked, picking up little money he found. Then a strange device caught his attention.

"Hello, what is this?" He said examining the device. He pushed a few buttons, but found nothing of interest. "Probably just one of those cheap 8-bit games. Shana's too poor to have anything good heheh." He remarked, throwing the device away."

"AHHH! RUN RUN FOR YOUR LIVES" Came a sudden shout from down the alley. The one lackey who had run away, was now running back, yelling at the top of his lungs. "GIANT MONKEY ON THE LOOSE" He said, fleeing past his leader and not bothering to stop to even explain.

The leader tilted his head. Giant monkey? Geez. Maybe the guy's rat did give him rabies. He was hearing things now! Suddenly though, they heard a roar from down the alley, and the remaining bullies all froze. "Mike, this is not the time to be trying to scare us like that!" He yelled at one of the others.

Mike shook his head and put his hands up. "It wasn't me boss!" He said. The leader then looked to the others who also denied having made the roaring noise. Then suddenly, a giant ape jumped into their midst, and having took the bullies by surprise, it easily cornered them. It then took out the bone that was tied to his back and raised it up, about to club the terrified boys. "AHH! SOMEBODY SAVE US!" The leader cried out, the others joining in in the terrified screaming for their lives.

Marik took Shana's hand, but slowed down when Aruraumon called to wait. "Hurry up." He said, waiting for the plant digimon to sort her clothes out. Once the plant had her disguise put together properly, he continued into the slums. He slowed down a bit as they got closer to the alleyway where Marik had found Shana being attacked by those bullies. The first sign that things weren't going to go well, happened, when one of the bullies ran by them so fast that neither of them had a chance to catch them, screaming something about a giant monkey.

He didn't have a backpack on him, so he was of little concern. What was more concerning, was the sudden cry for help from within the alley, and Marik managed to recognize the voice of the gang's leader. Did something attack them? Marik rushed onto the scene, and discovered the bullies were under attack by a wild digimon. "Do we have to?" Kudamon asked boredly. Marik nodded, and Kudamon left Marik's coat, while Marik took out a modify card. "Digimodify! Digivolution activate!"

[/COLOR] He said, swiping the card through his digivice.

"Kudamon digivolve to..." Kudamon, as he began glowing and growing in size and shape. "Pegasusmon!" He said as the digivolution completed, revealing him to be quite a handsome pegasus like digimon. "Equus beam!" He said, firing a greenish laser attack at the Apemon.

[Shana Hitoehi]

It seemed to be too much of a coincidence that after the boys had stolen her digivice a random monky digimon had apparead out of no where. Shana wasn't sure what had happened, but perhaps by them tampering with her digivice they somehow gained the attention of the ape-like digimon. Of course, she couldn't be sure and this was nothing more than a theory.

What was even more impressive was watching as Kudamon digivolved into Pegasusmon. It was rather impressive, though it wasn't at all what Shana thought his Kudamon might have digivolved into. She then got the urge to help out by making Aruraumon digivolve into Woodmon again, but as soon as she remembered that she had neither her digivice, nor her cards, that task seemed implausible. In any case, that was what she needed to do right now, get her digivice.

"I found it, Shana!" Aruraumon said as she extended her vines to pick up the digivice. She then turned back and ran toward Shana, but Shana was no longer even paying much attention to the digivice. Her eyes were fixated on Pegasusmon.

"Wow, Marik... He's cool."

Apemon, having been taken completely off guard, was hit square in the back. The digimon let out a fierce roar, and spun around, eyes falling on the one who had attacked him. Another digimon, now this was a battle. All these pathetic humans scurrying about like frightened mice did not make for much entertainment. But now he was faced with a real fight, and crushing this tamed digimon would be all the fun he needed for the day. "Mega bone stick!" The Apemon roared, rushing the equine digimon and attempting to strike him with his bone.

The bullies were cowering in their corner, but when something else came to distract the giant monkey, the leader had to look up. When he saw both Shana and the other boy as well as some horse bird thing and a plant monster, fear took over them, and they bolted from the alley. The monsters were everywhere!

Marik blinked at Shana's remark. Cool? "Yeah, I suppose he is." He said, looking Pegasusmon over. He was an orange horse with golden armor and pale wings, mane and tail. Of course, Marik being the more calm and generally aloof type, and wasn't really one to describe things as 'cool'. Unless used under the context of temperature anyways.

Marik paid no mind to the fleeing bullies. The Apemon had clearly lost all interest in them, and with them out of the picture, it gave Pegasusmon a bit more freedom to attack without having to worry about accidentally hitting them. Still, it would be better to get this over with quickly, so he could get Shana home and she could finally get some rest and recover. "Digimodify, Super charger activate!" He said, swiping the card through his digivice.

As the Apemon swung his bone club at him, Pegasusmon reared up on his hind legs, taking a couple steps back and avoiding the blow. As he did so, his wings extended and the inside turned a starry blue. "Star Shower!" He neighed, sending a barrage of stars shooting towards the the Apemon at point blank range.

Shana took her digivice from Aruraumon and held it firmly in her hand. Truth be told, she didn't know exactly what she should do from here. She didn't have her cards to help her out which meant that there would be no digivolving from Aruraumon, and at the same time, she didn't even know if she was allowed to fight right now or if she was supposed to. After all, Marik had somewhat broken up with her for fighting in the first place. She didn't exactly feel comfortable fighting in front of him right now when they were just finally getting back together.

It was easy enough for Shana to see that Marik was becoming quite the tamer. His skill wasn't only in which cards he had, but it was also the way that he worked with what he had. However, it seemed that whenever she was with Marik, he seemed to impress her in one way or another with skill or knowledge. Perhaps that was why she liked him so much... loved.

"Beat him Pegasusmon!" Shana cheered.

"Stay still!" The Apemon growled when the Pegasusmon avoided his mega bone stick attack. He wouldn't let that over dressed mule get away that easy again! Before he could aim another strike though, he found himself under attack by a barrage of shooting stars. He staggered backward as each attack hit, dealing severe damage to him. This attack had been way stronger than the Equus beam, how was that possible? No matter, he'd show this show pony for picking a fight with him! "Mega bone strike!" he roared, swinging his club again at the Pegasusmon.

The apemon had taken considerable damage from the Star Shower attack, and it wasn't looking so good. It wouldn't take too long now. However, when the Apemon swung his bone club again, he struck pegasusmon right across the neck. Pegasusmon flinched from the attack, but still held his ground. He wasn't going to go down in one hit, but he'd make sure that the Apemon didn't stay standing. "Equus beam!" said Pegasusmon, sending another greenish beam shooting towards the Apemon.

[Khrystalline Stone]

Unbeknownst to Marik and Shana, while the bullies were gone, they weren't quite the only humans in this alleyway. Khrys, on instructions from her squad leader, was in the process of tracking down the town's tamers and, propose the idea of forming a force to take out digimon that were a threat to the town. Of course, while tracking down these tamers was easy, approaching them about the matters concerning digimon was a bit of a tricky matter. It would be stupidly suspicious if she knew about their digimon without them knowing that, so her invitations required a bit of situational set up.

What Khrys had done was had BlackMonodramon drive the Apemon through the alleyways toward Marik's position. It was a bit of a pain to do as the big ape got distracted by EVERYTHING, which was frustrating, and it nearly attacked a group of kids but fortunately Marik had arrived at the same time and was now in the process of fighting it. It wouldn't take too long for it to go down since Monodramon had already tired it out a bit, so she needed to get in the scene quick.

She took a paces back, before sending Monodramon running forward. The tamer's Pegasusmon had just finished its Equus beam technique, and while the flying horse still had the Ape's attention, Monodramon leaped onto it's back, and bit down on the Apemon's neck with his deadly crack bite move. Khrys soon came running onto the scene afterward, out of breath. "W-we caught up to it." She gasped, before looking up and catching sight of Marik, Shana and their partners. "Oh, I guess I came in a bit late." She laughed.

Apemon howled as he was struck by yet another Equus beam, and he staggered backward. He felt really weak now, but if he was going to go down, he was going down fighting! He grabbed his bone and prepared to attack, but before he could even lift it, he felt something land on his back and next thing he knew was excruciating pain as whatever it was bit down on his neck. Within seconds, he fell, and then completely disintegrated to data.
