Kyle vaguely remembered something - not totally unlike the Devimon attack - from the past. Like a good two or three years in the past. He could remember a rumours of a very large boar creature destroying a good part of...some town, nearishby. It wasn't that long ago, but Kyle couldn't for the life of him remember anything more about the event...but...could it have been digimon?
It was a Saturday, so no school - yay - and here Kyle was, digging through old archives. It was highly probable there wasn't any, or any there there was were 'gone'. But if he could find a name, or some sort of lead, he could find out what was going on - why he had a digivice and not everyone else - and why/how Lucemon was here.
His search so far was bringing up zip, nada, zilch. Not totally unexpected. He was thankful that he was there when Colbie got her digivice - he knew of another person in his situation - he wasn't alone anymore. Not that Lucemon wasn't good company, but he was a digimon whereas Kyle and Colbie were humans with digivices. But why? Why was all this happening?
Since he had been at it for a good hour or two he gave up the ghost and logged out of the computer. He tried, and failed. He could accept that - but they were resourceful teenagers...right? They'll find out some other way. He grabbed his jacked and left the library.

As predictable as the sun rising ever day, Marik had gone to the library, his bag was full of books and various school projects that he spent his time there working on getting done. Fortunately, his oversized workload was beginning to shrink, and his grades were beginning to look a bit better. It was progress at the very least. He just wished he had more time in the day. Or at the very least, that the spawning digimon would stop... well, spawning. If he didn't have to stop to go chase after some wild digimon causing havoc in town, he might have all his work caught up before the end of the semester.
Once Marik had finished his work for the day, he packed his books, pencils and items up and headed out the door of the library, his bag still open in his arms as he fished through it for the snack he had kept in it. As he was walking though, he stepped on a discarded bottle, and ended up tripping, falling forward, his bag flying out of his arms and spilling it's contents -- several books, papers pencils and his digivice, onto the pavement. "Marik? Are you alright?" came his partner's concerned whisper, as he lay concealed under his tamer's jacket.
"I'm fine." Marik muttered, getting up and inspecting his hands. They were a bit scraped up, but he wasn't bothered by it. He then rushed forward to pick up his bags and jam the books and papers back into it.

Kyle left the library just after a much younger boy - surprising to see someone so young - a child - at a library. Usually workloads weren't difficult enough to warrant such a thing. Maybe he had those kinds of pushy parents... Kyle slowed, slightly, when the boy tripped - it was like watching a car crash waiting to happen but being paralyzed to do anything about it. Kyle generally didn't care for younger kids - finding some of them immature or annoying, sometimes, but seeing the contents of the boys bag spew all over the pavement tugged at his heart strings.
The older teen moved to help the boy pick up his things, and had managed to lift only one book before he came to an object that looked very, very familiar. A digivice...that meant that this boy was a tamer, just like him. He looked up at the younger teenager when the boy seemed to have cleared up everything but the book and the digivice. He gave one more look at the device before handing it back to the boy with the book. "Be careful with that" he said significantly as he handed the digivice back to the younger boy. Guess that makes two other people in his town that have digivices? What was happening to the world...?

Marik blinked as he noticed an older boy crouch down to help him. As the stranger turned towards him, he instinctively tightened his jacket collar to avoid having Kudamon spotted accidentally. However, a jolt of panic bolted through his body when he notice too late that the stranger had reached for his digivice. Relax, he probably won't ask about it. Marik reasoned with himself as he resisted the urge to snatch the item out of the guy's hands. "Thanks, I will." Marik said when the boy handed him his digivice, though he sounded a bit more serious than Marik thought anyone with no clue of what it was would be. "My name is Marik. You have one of these too?"

Kyle nodded and after he had stood up he lifted his jacket from his left hip, allowing the younger boy to see his own digivice, hanging from his belt. "I'm surprised you have one...you're so young to have such a responsibility" The older teen wasn't trying to be condescending or anything, but a boy who looked like he was barely in his teens having a digivice - being responsible for another life at such a young age... And what about those wayward digimon that slide their way into their world...has he encountered any of them yet? Like Devimon and Harpymon...
"You should put it on your hip, or somewhere else on your body - less chance of losing it" he didn't really know what exactly would happen if he lost his own digivice - apart from not being able to digimodify Lucemon - but he really didn't want to know, because it surely wouldn't be good - it appeared when Lucemon did, the two were linked somehow.

Marik only shrugged to the guy's statement about his age. "I've met younger tamers than myself." Marik didn't think the responsibility was too much. There was a lot of fighting involved, but that part of the deal could be avoided most of the time if one wanted to. He himself chose to take on the responsibility. Wild digimon did tend to cause a lot of damage, and he and Kudamon hadn't had much of a problem dealing with them, besides the attacks being a major interruption to his studies. "They don't seem to really take into account age when they pick a tamer. It hasn't been too much of a deal for us. There have been quite a lot of wild digimon appearing, but me and Kudamon have been able to handle the ones we've run into."

Such a responsibility at such a young age?! Kyle was seventeen and he though the prospect of fighting of...well the world(?), humanity(?), was a lot even for him. "You fight?! You're...barely even in puberty and already you're fighting for your life?" Fate must be a bit of a bitch to allow such a thing to happen. And there were more? Even younger?! Kyle thought that, maybe, it was a rare occurrence - but with the appearance of Colbie's digivice, and now the knowledge that there were other, younger, tamers out there...maybe he needed to rethink that.
"How do you know there are other tamers around? Do you know why...well, why these digivices appeared, why the digimon are..falling through into our world?"

((Sorry for the late post!)) Marik's eyes widened as the older teen spoke as if astonished that he and Kudamon had been battling digimon. Kudamon shifted slightly and cautiously peeked out of the inside of Marik's jacket His face was held sideways an if one didn't look closely, they likely wouldn't even notice his eye exposed in the open gap of Marik's collar, staring at the male his tamer had encountered. "To be fair, I'm the one that does the fighting." He pointed out.
"I've met a few tamers and their partners myself. Some friends both current and past." Marik explained. "As for why the digivices and digimon are appearing in our world, I really have no clue."
