Marik had known Shana had been a bad influence on his life. He wasn't going to deny that much longer. However, just how bad came much more apparent when his mid term report card came in. He was failing three classes, and just barely getting by on most others. How could he have let things slip so much? His parents weren't too concerned about his education since his sister was born, but this had been bad enough they couldn't ignore it. Days after Marik still sported a large bluish-red mark where his father had smacked him with a ruler.
So now here he was at the library, armed with his school books, pencils, paper, and lots of overdue assignments to catch up on, and he was pretty much in full work mode. He kept his focus on his work, and completely ignored everything else, from the people shuffling through books on the shelves, to the groups of people huddled together, whispering loudly. He had to get this all done. He'd never forgive himself if he let himself finish this year failing.
Kudamon meanwhile, was curled up underneath Marik's Jacket, which Marik had left ontop of his desk. The only thing he really could do at the moment was watch his tamer work. He at first was trying to throw his own suggestions at his tamer, but after a while his attempts to aid him proved pointless as his Tamer became engrossed in his work. So the pipe fox digimon was beginning to grow bored, and after a while had fallen asleep.
Kudamon had a decent nap, until Marik's digivice suddenly went off. Kudamon's eyes blinked open and he slowly pulled the digivice from Marik's inside pocket. It was flashing and emitting a low ringing noise. Kudamon knew what that meant. "Marik?" Kudamon muttered, attempting to get his tamer's attention. Kudamon poked his nose out from under the jacket to see what Marik was doing, but found he was still thoroughly focused on his school work.
"Marik? There's a digimon nearby." He tried again, this time poking Marik's hand with his nose, but still to no avail. What could he do? He couldn't speak louder or leave his hiding and get the attention of everyone in the library. He gulped. This was quite urgent... He did regret coming to this, but it seemed he had no choice. After checking if anyone was within eyeshot, Kudamon poked his nose out again, and this time bit his finger, not hard enough to break skin, but just enough to cause pain.
"Ouch!" Marik cried out. Kudamon withdrew back under his coat in an instant as half the library stared at his tamer. Marik blinked, sucking the finger Kudamon had bitten. "I'm fine, sorry." He said, turning away when everyone else went back to their business. He then lifted his jacket slightly and put his head close to the gap created to hide Kudamon as he spoke to him. "Kudamon! Why did you do that?" Marik hissed to his partner.
Kudamon blinked. "Please forgive me Marik." He apologized, scratching his ear with a paw, before pushing Marik's digivice forward. "Your digivice went off. I tried to get your attention, but you didn't seem to hear me, so I bit you..." He finished, bowing his head. "There's a digimon bio-emerging nearby. We should deal with it." He insisted.
Marik stared at the digivice. It was indeed indicating a digimon was nearby. He sighed, unsure of what to do. Shana wasn't the only distraction that had caused the mess he was currently in. Running after stray digimon had taken up a good chunk of his study time as well. He frowned, looking back and forth between his work pile and his digivice. "Well we better hurry up and deal with it." Marik conceded. He gathered up all his things and started piling it into his backpack. he then carefully put his jacket back on with Kudamon positioning himself under his collar, then put his backpack on, and they headed out.
Marik followed the tracker on his digivice outside, and behind the library into the cluster of bushes just beyond the parking lot. He ran to it, and headed into the fog. He'd deal with this digimon quickly then get back and finish his studying. Hopefully this wouldn't take too long.
