Our wild friends started showing up again. Like last time, we should prepare them a suitable welcome. Some questions might be answered, if you come to Shinjuku park around 19.00. You could bring your yellow friend, if you wish, there will be no people around.

... It was raining. The sky was colored in darker shades of gray, border lining with black, and terrible thunders were making the glass of the windows shiver. For a long time there was no such storm around Shinjuku. People hid in their homes, and more religious ones said that gods were angry, and dedicated themselves to prayers...
Of course, this was the very reason a meeting was appointed on such a stormy day - to keep the chance of someone interfering to a minimum - since nobody in sane mind would be around at a storm like that. The wind was blowing violently, making it very hard to move against it, and the rain, amplified by it, was hitting the face...
It was evening, and a rather dark one too - since all remaining light from the sun was blocked by sinister clouds. It was the reason lights were turned on early today, both in homes and at the park. In the circle of light provided by one such lantern, there was a person standing, holding an umbrella. It looked like he was waiting for someone.
- Laurence, is my presence really necessary? I'm not exactly looking forward to seeing ... the Original. - a bit unnerved voice came somewhere from the darkness that surrounding the lantern. It was a huge understatement. If it were up to Renee, she'd send the original on a deserted island in the middle of the ocean, and forget about it, but instead she was forced to practically face each other.
- Yes, Renee, you're required to be here. In case things go terribly wrong. And try not to do something we both will regret later, this is not a combat mission. - Larry replied to the kitsune that was somewhere in the darkness.
- I know. I won't make the same mistake again. - the voice replied. Soon her sign appeared - a glowing eye, only one though, the other covered by a black eye-patch. A reminder of what mistake she made once...
This wasn't supposed to be some mission. More of a ... diplomatic envoy of sorts. There were reports of increased tamer activity lately, both from WH and Nb groups. They seemed to be combating random spawns, but their efforts were ... sporadic. Inefficient. Perhaps a bit of organization was in order, and cooperation might be preferable. Besides that, Hypnos knew very little about reasons digimon were coming around. There were some that came here by accident, those were located in numemon pub, under discrete surveillance, and some came here looking for tamers. The third group had various reasons, which was impossible to systematically divide into more subgroups. Perhaps the WH group could bring the light on that one...
- You should have brought an umbrella too, you will get soggy standing out there in the rain. - Larry replied, and went farther into the darkness, covered area, bringing the digimon under umbrella, luckily it was big enough... For now, they waited...

"Really, Hana-chan, you should've waited until the storm cleared." Lala said holding a giant leaf over her and her tamer. "You know i've been craving edomame lately!" She protested. "But that doesn't mean you have to go out into a storm to buy some..." Lala said as Hanako pouted. They were currently stuck beneath some trees and since the sidewalks were slippery, Lala had made Hanako wait until the rain cleared some. For another few minutes they waited, but the storm refused to let up. "Why don't we head home? You'll catch a cold if you stand out here any longer..." Lala pleaded. "Fine..." Hanako sighed. The two then began their way down the sidewalks. Lala stopped however, causing Hanako to step out in the rain. "Lala!" Hanako complained. "Shh. Theres a digimon nearby." Lala said letting the leaf hover over her and her tamer once more. "Out in a storm?" Hanako asked curiously. Lala nodded. With that, Lala and Hanako headed down the paths, the rain pouring down around them as they did so.

Rika had gotten the message sometime ago. She was very suspicious about the messaage she had gotten. She didn't trust this person, whomever he was, at all. All she had gotten was this single e-mail, and that was all she knew about him. If he were a decent person, why would he wish to meet her out here in the rain? He would have come to meet her by other means, most likely. In any case, she wasn't going to back out of this. She had Renamon, so she had nothing to be scared of.
Rika finally came upon the designated location, Renamon right behind her. Perhaps Rika's outterwear was a bit odd. She wore a yellow rainjacket and had her hood up, but she didn't have an umbrella and Renamon was walking without any protection from the rain. They didn't need anything. The two of them were fine. The most important thing was getting this figured out.
"We're here," she spoke to the man. "Now who are you?"

- They are coming... - Renee said before disappearing into the darkness once more, sensing the approach of the girl and her counterpart. Larry sighed a bit - the digimon really didn't want to face the two that were coming, preferring to stay concealed somewhere around here. Oh well, it was her choice, and Larry did not want to force her - if things go south by some terrible set of circumstances, he knew that she was near, around here somewhere.
Soon the aforementioned duo appeared. It was relatively easy to spot both - the yellow colors of the digimon and the girl's jacket were highly visible, when surrounded by darkness and grayness of the storm. It was a contrast to Larry's dimmer - colored coat, and Renee's silver-gray fur. He turned around, and stepped into the circle of light of the lantern, to face both as they approached.
- Ah, so you received the letter my superiors sent you. - he stated at they approached. Then he looked at both the girl and her digimon for a moment. From first glance, one would have never thought this child was one of the major factors in events that took place two years ago. Obvious proof how deceiving appearances could be. Larry read all bios trice, and knew pretty much everything Hypnos knew about the subject. A brief clash of glares between him and the digimon followed, yet there was nothing to be startled about just of yet - blue eyes expressed only cautiousness.
- Smith. Laurence Smith. - he introduced himself. There was no need to invent fake names for this one - if anyone should have a bright idea of looking for the name through internet - they'd find hundreds of L.S's, with the one they might be seeking conveniently hidden from any public databases. - My employers apologize for the inconvenience, but they figured you would most likely be suspicious, despite the fact we were associated some time ago, and this was the only place where both you and your guardian could access without fear of sudden disclosure... - he added, before going on to the pressing subject - the two must have been curious as to why they were invited out here in the cold.
- I am an emissary, of sorts, send here by the organization you know as Hypnos. A representative. My superiors wish to discuss the current events, and perhaps agree on terms of ... cooperation, as it were in the light of what happened 2 years ago... And perhaps answer some questions you might have, the answer depending on the nature of the question of course...

Lala's sensors began to pick up not only one digimon, but two...and somehow they were similar, but not. It was strange to the plant digimon. Soon their voices came into hearing distance between the tamer and plant digimon. Hiding behind some trees, Lala stared out at the events partaking out. One was a young girl with a Renamon, the other a man with a renamon, only with silver fur. Just what was going on? Hikari pulled out her digivice as the info for them began to go off;

The info went off as Hikari put her digivice away. Tilting her head, she continued watching.

Renamon was beginning to feel uneasy. Before arriving, she had sensed the presence of a second Digimon in this area. Who or what that Digimon was, she didn't know, but she was sure that it had something to do with this man. If that were the case, it was obvious that he was hiding things from them. This made Renamon very suspicious. At the very least, it kept Renamon on her toes, ready to protect Rika from anything.
Rika was also prepared to act quickly. She had her digivice in her hand and her deck at the ready. Hopefully this man wouldn't try anything tricky. She was ready for it. In any case, she'd hear him out, even thoguh she didn't trust a word that he had to say. It all sounded so suspicious.... especially after he claimed to be working with hypnos.
"Where is Yamaki-san?"

Both the girl and the digimon seemed to be on edge for some reason. Despite Larry's intention to calm them down a bit with his initial speech, it seemed to have an opposite effect. The only thing lacking was thorns coming out of their bodies to describe the degree of mistrust and hostility. The young man sighed - his job was to deliver the message, and try convincing that they are not the true thread here. So far, the task looked to be difficult.
- Mitsuo Yamaki... Hmm... former head of Hypnos, if I recall correctly. Lead the organization during the crisis two years ago. His actions caused the destruction of the Hypnos HQ, reveal of the digimon existance to general public, an outright invasion of Tokyo, loss of valuable documents and equipment. Or so I was told. I do not know what happened to him afterwards. My guess would be that, after he was relieved of his responsibilities, his services were used in some other part of the field involving cybernetic warfare and such. But that is only my assumption. - he shrugged. That was indeed, everything he knew about Yamaki, everything he was allowed to tell. You couldn't have expected more than that from a secret government organization.
- Now the organization has been cardinally reformed to fulfill it's purpose more efficiently, and has a new head chief. - Larry added a bit coldly, not quite feeling any remorse for the man who used to be in charge. He did allow this to happen, now didn't he? And it was new Hypnos's job to not allow this menace to happen again.
- We remember your and your friend's valiant efforts during the first invasion. We propose coordinating efforts in order to stop another one from happening. - Larry knew he kinda said that with different words already, but it was just to deliver the punch line - they wanted to work with each other, not antagonizing...
Renee watched everything from her hiding spot, luckily in the dark of the night there were plenty, and he renamon was excellent in stealth. She knew the original probably sensed her, but sensing and seeing an image are two different things. Renee wouldn't mind staying there the whole time, not revealing existence, but suddenly, she spotted some move in the bushes...
It was a little girl and some plant digimon. They seemed to have eavesdropped on the whole thing. - Spies? Unlikely. - she thought quickly. The child was too small to be used as a spy by someone, and the digimon... nah, he/she did not understand the danger as well. Moving covertly around the perimeter, Renee silently reappeared at the side of both the child and the digimon, trying not to be too sudden. The tree blocked her image from the humans and the original, considering the point of view.
- This area is off-limits. Leave ... quietly. - she whispered quietly...

Hanako proceeded to listen in on the conversation. Hypnos? The incident from 2 years ago? She had researched about it and the efforts of the children -- this girl was one of those children? Rika was automatically cast in a new light in Hanako's eyes -- one of respect. However, when Renee appeared, Hanako jumped, causing the bushes to startle and rustle a lot. Lala squealed, latching onto her trainer and using her propellers to lift the girl up into the air and into a tree. What had been Renee's attempt at trying to be stealthy had just turned into something of the opposite. "Hana-chan, are you okay?!" Lala began frantically searching her tamer over. "I'm fine." Hanako reassured. Proceeding to slide down the tree, she landed, turning to face Rika, Renamon, and the man. Lala floated down, perching on Hanako's shoulder.

The organization had been reformed?... and Yamaki was no longer a part of it? Listening to what he had to say, Rika became more and more mistrustful toward him. If they really thought that what Yamaki had done was for the worst, then there was no way that they could think Digimon and Humans were equal. This guy, most likely, was only thinking about the human side... if that. She knew she'd have to tread carefully with him.
Still, Rika kenw that it would be best to give them a chance. If she didn't give them a chance, then she most likely wouldn't be able to find out what it was that they were truly after. then again, did she even really want to know? What could their purpose be?... and if she went with what he said now, could it end up worse than if she had never heard it in the first place?
"Then why have you called me here?"

This was getting annoying. The girl asked questions that were too obvious to answer, and Larry got his tongue twisted for reiterating the same thing over and over and over again. Didn't he say they wanted cooperation between Hypnos and tamers? He did. Two times. And they did call her around to discuss this. Eventually, they'd call every one else of the WH group, separately, and make the same agreement - Hypnos did not know if they were still the same team they were before.
- Like I said, we... - his words were interrupted by a loud yelp from someone somewhere around a nearby tree. Reflexes kicked in almost immediately as he drew the handgun from the inner pocket, with a familiar sound that it did when reloaded. But his alarm seemed to be not required, since it was no thread ... just a little girl. So much for having a "private talk" - he thought with disappointment, but what disappointed him even more was the fact they even made it so far. Someone was sloppy.
- Renee? What is this? - he sounded slightly unnerved, as he hid the weapon where it was. No need to be flashy with it for too long anyhow.
- I am sorry, commander. I tried to make them leave the area without applying to violence, and look what happened... - a calm and yet all too familiar voice was heard out of nowhere. The next moment a silver renamon appeared behind the child's and her digimon's backs once again. A renamon. Same stature, same body - built, same glare, same voice, arguably same attitude. The only two things that were not the same were the color and the eye-patch on the clone's eye.
- Come with me now, there is nothing for you to listen to here. - the fox put one of her hands on the child's shoulder, and the other - on digimon's, and nudging them to leave. She was not stupid - any murderous-sounding commentary from her part could have undermined the master's effort to facilitate communications. And she tried to ignore the fact the original was here. She really tried.
