Marik had been fairly troubled since he finally cut himself off from Shana. He knew it was the only way he would ever get his sanity back. He had been constantly terrified that Shana would eventually bite off more than she could chew and end up getting herself and Aurorumon killed, and despite telling her of his concerns, attempts to convince her it wasn't right... She still went out and fought as recklessly as she used to. There was just no respect or trust in the relationship.
"You made the best choice Marik. She could only hurt you more if you had stayed." Kudamon muttered calmly. Unlike Marik, there was no second thoughts on whether this was the right decision or not. The pipe fox digimon had felt Shana was bad for him from the beginning. His tamer finally breaking up with her was the best decision he ever made, as far as Kudamon was concerned.
Marik took a sip of grape soda, idly glancing around the mall's food court. "I know, but I still love her. I'm still worried about her." He confessed, speaking quietly as well, aware that he looked like he was talking to himself with Kudamon hidden in his usual spot around his neck and under his coat. He shifted his straw, letting Kudamon drink as well.
Kudamon sipped the drink, coughing slightly. "You like that stuff?" He asked disbelievingly. It tasted nothing like grape and the carbonated drink felt sharp on his tongue. "What happens to her is her concern alone now. Just let her go. Make some new friends, and you won't have to think about her anymore."
Marik sighed. He wished he had someone else to talk to, but being with Shana had been pretty damaging to his chances at making friends. So there he was alone again.

Brittany grinned to herself as she looked around the mall, happy to have managed to escape her grandmother for one afternoon. It had been a struggle to get some time outside the house, but thankfully, she had made a break for it as the older female was talking to one of her friends at home. She didn't even see her leave, but she did make sure to put a note on the table. All in all, a perfect escape.
Im probably dead as soon as I get home, but it was worth it to get out of that house....
Looking around the large interior of the mall, the teen giggled as she wished that she could have brought Veemon with her. But after the events of a few weeks back, she figured that he was better off in the woods in the middle of the day. It was hard enough for her sneak out herself, but trying to do so with a handful of clothing would have been impossible. She'd just have to make it up to him later that night. For now, she had her freedom again.
"But where to start first?"
Holding her hand under her chin, the school uniformed female rode the glass elevator up to the second floor of the shopping facility, walking out as she walked among the crowds of people while trying to figure out what she should do first.

Marik drank down the rest of his soda drink, and set it down for a moment, just staring at the table surface, flicking at a stray fly that had buzzed down to investigate the stain on its surface that had been left by an earlier customer. Perhaps Kudamon did have some sense. Maybe he was just too young to be into this sort of thing. He sighed a gain, and Kudamon nudged him, unsure of how to further console his depressed tamer. Marik dumped his drink in the nearest garbage disposal, before he began to wander around the mall aimlessly.
Getting together with Shana was probably just a huge mistake. What had he been thinking? He had saw how aggressive she was long before anything happened... Why did he fall for her? She broke her leg. She seemed like such a different person then. But that different persona disappeared when she finally healed. That had to be it. He fell her in a temporary condition. That was the mistake. A completely blind mistake. Now her leg had healed, she just wasn't the girl he fell in love with anymore.
Marik normally was careful to watch where he was going. So deep in his sorrows though, he had lost that concentration, and found himself crashing into an older girl. "Uh, erm sorr-" Marik mumbled, cutting off when he realized he knew this girl. Shana had dragged him to her place to attack a boy and his goblimon there wasn't it? Shana had Aruraumon blast the ceiling out of her room... For a moment he just stood there like a deer in headlights. "I'm sorry." He managed to repeat after a moment, though he was still having trouble reacting. Running into someone who probably held grudge against Shana and by association him, was not what he needed at the moment.

Brittany rubbed her head with a frown as she held the impact with the stranger. Opening one eye as she continued to rub her front temple, the teen blinked as she saw the boy facial expression and just stared at him for a moment while he apologized. It took only a second for her to remember, to know how this person was. It was the same kid from that night! The one that had been with that Shana brat when she tore through her house.
"You........."
That was all the girl could say as she glared towards him and crossed her arms over her chest. She wanted to beat the heck out of him. To grab him by the collar of his shirt and shake him like a leaf for all the mess he and his friend had put her through. It was because of them that she was in the position she was in. But her real target wasn't the boy at all, it was the little girl.

The girl's glare wasn't doing much for his wracked nerves. What was he supposed to say? This girl looked like she was ready to punch him! Kudamon poked his head slightly out of the collar of Marik's jacket to gaze at the girl. He sighed with disdain. "Yet another testament to why you should just forget about her. Her behavior isn't just preventing her from making friends, and she's made you more enemies than you deserve." The Kudamon muttered, loud enough only for Marik and Brittany to hear.
"Kudamon, quiet." He whispered at his partner. He then looked back at the girl, before shifting his gaze nervously to the ground. He had to say something but... what? "Listen, Shana, she--" "Don't make excuses for her! What she did was her own fault and you know it!" Kudamon growled angrily. He wasn't taking this nonsense for a second.
Marik bit his lip in frustration. Then what was he supposed to do? Marik knew he was smarter then this, but the built up stress from the last few days were building up and making him slip up. "I... er.. I'm sorry about your house. I never thought for a second she'd break through your roof. I should have tried harder to stop her. I'm sorry." He finally managed to spit out.

Raising her eye brow, Brittany still wanted to give the kid an earful, but from what his digimon partner was saying, he was already trying to deal with the results of having such a character as a friend. She actually felt bad for him, especially since it was likely that this girl had probably made his life hell. But friends were like that at times and you often had no choice but to follow them, because you were their friends.
Sighing as she relaxed her shoulders, Brittany crossed her arms over her chest as she tilted her head to the side.
" Yea, you should have....Now I have no home for a month and am living with my Grandmother, and Veemon is stuck in the woods. But...I forgive you.....Not her...you..."

Marik managed to relax a little bit, but he still couldn't get rid of the guilt, and every ounce of his being wanted defend Shana, but he knew just as well as Kudamon that there was nothing to defend -- Shana was every bit in the wrong, and this girl or the others she attacked didn't deserve any bit of what she had done to them. Shana deserved every bit of hate aimed at her. This was all such a headache, and he wished nothing more for all these problems to vanish. It was never this complicated before he met Shana. That girl single-handedly made a mess out of his life.
He looked up, his expression glum and guilt ridden. "Is there anything I can do to help you out?" He asked, sincerely. He'd done her wrong, and though he wasn't entirely sure on what he could do, there had to be something he could do to at least try to make it up to her.

((mind if yori pops in?))
Yori was hanging out at the mall, carrying around Loli. She figured it might look odd having her hanging off her back. so Loli was sitting on Yori's bag, doing her best to look like nothing more then a stuffed animal. Yori had some scrapes and bandages on her face, her arms were covered by sleeves, but a few scrapes could be seen on her legs as well.
Loli had been in a 'mood' since their encounter with Shana, she had never felt so angry before, never had she wanted to destroy as she had then. She hated feeling like that. So all she and Yori could do was hope they would never have to meet that psychopath again. Loli's ears perked up...something about this area felt... "Hey...Yori...I think there's a digimon nearby..." she muttered as Yori stopped and looked around. Since she realized digimon were real, she found herself looking everywhere, for some sign of a digimon. "Any clue where? Any particular direction." "No..its too crowded but...there is definitely a digimon here..." she said. Well, hopefully it was friendly...
Yori had stopped not to far away from where hte other two were talking. But how was she to know that those two were tamers? To her they were just ordinary people. And here she was, looking around for the sign of a digimon when it was just a few feet away.
Stopping, Yori grabbed her head. Darn, she had a headache again. "Aaah...that darn brat. I am sore all over...." she muttered as Loli climbed up onto Yori's back. "Yori...I wish you had let me do something. Those two need to learn a lesson. But...I am sorry I freaked like that. I just couldn't stand seeing her hurt you like that. And her digimon just letting her do that, knowing you didn't do anything wrong. Even if you can forgive them, I can't. And I am sorry I let you get hurt Yori..." Loli said softly as she wrapped her ears around Yori in a hug. "It's not your fault Loli. You did the best you could..." said Yori, feeling sad she had put her partner through so much pain...

Brittany looked towards Marik with a blank expression, scratching her head as she thought about his offer. In truth, there was really nothing he could do for her. Or perhaps she couldn't think of anything for him to do, and that was simply because she really didn't have any tasks to take on that day. The idea of having him follow her around to carry shopping bags came to mind, but she decided against it. The boy seemed to have enough on his mind, and he had apologized.
"No no...Its ok! Your apology is enough......" Grinning as she rested her hands upon her hips, Brittany looked over to the side as she noticed a girl standing not too far from them. While she usually would allow something like that to fly over her head, the stuff animal the girl held seemed almost real. Blinking for a moment as she stared towards it, she decided that maybe she had just been hanging out with Veemon for too long. Not everything digimon was real. So, the teen returned to looking at the younger boy.
