Hashim
Digimon's Name: Hashim
Gender: Male
Personality:
There is an old saying not to judge a book by the cover. Well, one could only imagine how true that is, taking in consideration Hashim. One might not even suspect how much is buried within the skull of a “mere primitive shamanmon”. Most of those who thought that way and disregarded him as a potential thread or rival … well, they did not end up well, because Hashim is not your average representative of goblimon family… He has many traits, which are quite rare for his kind. Here is a layout for your convenience:
---- Ambitious ----
That is right, Hashim is a very ambitious digimon. But not in the way most goblimon are. Not the “I wanna be the biggest and baddest digimon in the whole tribe, and have the biggest club. No, Hashim cares naught about such … primitive goals. His dream is to be important, to have his word move others as he wills. To be recognized and be someone anywhere, not just in some secluded village. For that reason he joined in with the growing new state – the Black Omnimon’s Empire.
---- Intelligent ----
Comes with having ambitions, if you wish to succeed that is. History tells us that not once a dumbass managed to gain a position of power, and hold it long enough. Sooner or later, they would all be knocked down by more capable and virtuous ones. Hashim certainly doesn’t wish to be knocked down when he rises, so he put great effort in enlarging his knowledge in many fields, particularly those useful. Naturally, he’s one of the sharpest shamanmon you’ll ever get a chance to meet.
---- Strategist ----
Well, Hashim is enrolled in Black Omnimon’s invasion force as a low-ranking officer, but he knows much more than a simple major should, in the field of tactics, logistics, fortification, strategy, etcetera. Easily, he can undertake command of a regiment far larger than one he’s supposed to be running, should higher ranking officers be unavailable. He aims to go higher, and that knowledge will pave the way for him.
---- Cunning ----
Show me one successful military commander that is not cunning. Hashim is easily able to play on opponent’s weaknesses, and pretend to be a friend, waiting for the right moment to turn his back on them in their moment of triumph. If you’re not a cunning bastard, you’ll never make it above the lieutenant.
---- The ends justify the means ----
A somewhat ambiguous trait of his – the digimon is ready to sacrifice soldiers under his command to achieve a greater goal – be that saving others by that sacrifice or capturing a strategic point, or reaching an objective. He, of course, never does it without necessity, and when he does – it is usually worth it. “Life is the currency of war – spend it well.”. And of course, all that serves an even greater purpose – his promotion.
---- Know when to fold ‘em ----
Is not the type who would run on barricades and scream “Not one step backwards! Hold the line!” When he is getting his ass handed to him, Hashim is more likely to retreat, for there is no glory in dying like a stubborn idiot who would not acknowledge defeat. This trait saved him many times. Some label him a coward, he thinks he’s just practical.“- He who fights and runs away, may live to fight another day. But he who is in battle slain, will never rise to fight again…”
---- Coward ----
Hashim feels more comfortable with commanding the troops from behind the lines, than fighting in front. Sure, a commander leading their troops to charge is heroic, but should he get slain – the charge will become a rout faster than you can say “Oh shi---“. The commander is the most important person on the field. Risking his life for something stupid is imprudent. Shamanmon’s dislike of fighting personally stems from the fact that he is, well, a shamanmon, thus not very apt fighter, comparing to others. Should he get an ability to improve his martial might, however, he would certainly take any form of training to improve himself, hating to rely on others for protection.
---- Treacherous ----
He fights not for some vaunted code of honor, or duty to the state blah blah blah. No, his motives are much more self-serving. He fights for the side he thinks will win in the long run. For now it is the Black Omnimon’s Empire. He doesn’t see any way it would crumble. However, should by some extraordinary turn of events it go towards a downfall that could not be stopped, Hashim will most likely abandon ship and defect to the winners. But that if there is no any other way. However, this trait would be undermined should he get a chance to climb high enough – in that case he would fight anything, if only to protect the state he has such a high position in…
---- Relations with people ----
Hashim studied history, and knows that in order to be a successful career-man, one must always have people to rely on should things go south. He also knows, however, that the higher you go up the ladder, the harder it is to find such people, for there is always a chance that they wanna stick with you for THEIR profit, and not YOURS. That is why making friends and allies is easier while you’re low. The rising figure must already have a band of cohorts to back him up. And while shamanmon is pretty low, he tends to make bonds and alliances with the right people, who might be useful in the future.
He’s often seen in company of a large, brutish, violent and temperamental creature send by the Black Omnimon himself to join the forces he was assigned to. Most are even afraid to look at that demon of destruction, but it seems that the monster listens only to Hashim, despite the fact he’s a champion, and the shamanmon is merely a rookie. Perhaps it is because the creature is a powerful warrior, but lacks strategic though to avoid traps, and keeping such a useful tool from dying stupidly is one of the shamanmon’s priorities…
---- List of things he hates ----
- Pompous fools
- Insubordinate underlings
- When things don’t go according to plan
- Defeat
- When people think they are better than him while having nothing to back it up
- Fighting personally
- Not being listened to
---- List of things he likes ----
- Power
- Promotions
- Influence
- Glory
- Ladies (is actually a rather gallant digimon, being taught how to behave in higher society. So far his skills at that are not needed, since he’s a lowly shamanmon. So far… Who knows what happens next?)
- Respect
- Winning
- War (always opportunity to prove oneself)
- Commanding

General’s sword
It was told this weapon once belonged to a great general of old, a powerful digimon. Hashim has the ambition to become greater, so that HIS sword would be priced and treasured more than this one, but until that day comes, he carries this one, as a symbol of his goals…
