Name: Ciel |
Gender: Female |
Personality: Due the harsh life she had, her heart hardened and become a rather cynical digimon who finds pointless to be idealistic or have too much hope for the future, believing that the end justifies the means. As result of her bitter life experiences, she completely tossed away any idealism from the old days as a defender of justice and become a morally ambiguous digimon who would stop at nothing to achieve the desired results. She prefers to travel alone, but she wouldn't say no to a temporal companion, after all having more members in the team is a valid way of increasing the success rate in battle and once a while it's good to have somebody to talk with. Unlike what her angelical heritage would indicate, she is no saint nor wishes to become a goddess of peace. She has lost so much that no longer remembers the utopia where she lived and only continues living on driven by the intense and pure hatred felt for the dimensional monster. She used to care for the welfare of the universes she visited, actively helping to stop any evil enemy despite that distracted her from her main goal, but after losing so much she cares no longer for things like the eternal struggle between good and evil and only cares about getting stronger at any cost and once she become tough enough to deal with parallelmon, she would make him suffer tenfold what she suffered. As long she could exact her revenge, she would gladly commit atrocities that would brand her a villain. As a secondary goal other than parallelmon's destruction, she seeks to find an apprentice, somebody who could bear her grudge in the case she were the one to be slain and continue her mad quest for revenge in her place, somebody who would throw away normal life to become a revenge demon living only to guide the hatred and grudges of others into their hated targets. |
History: In a world so close, yet so far away In the vast network of universes that exists within the digimon multiverse, there was one universe where peace was long achieved in a distant past and now all digimon lived in an era of relative calmness. Such world was divided into many clans as the dragon clan, dinosaur clan, mammal clan, etc, and each one had its own lords, although above them all ruled the celestial ones of the angel clan for they were the judges of the digital world and administered anything related with rules and law for the sake of keeping the balance between all the clans. In that alternate universe, evolution as known in other worlds did not exist and instead most of the digimon species were born in the shape they would have for their entire life and as they grew up they suffered physical changes that emulated the evolved stronger forms of other worlds and even artificially improved their power through other means as mechanization or being imbued with elemental powers (For example a greymon is just a grown up adult agumon and a metal greymon is a greymon who mechanized himself using robotic parts) However, a certain form of evolution did exist and was provided by statues in the image of the digital world goddess Norn, administrator of the digital world who lied dormant during those peaceful times. They were actually terminals connected with Yggdrasil, the origin of all digital life, and brought the light of evolution to those worthy of it and thus prevented those with ill intentions from achieving stronger forms. Needless to say, the only “mega” level digimon of this world were the clan lords and some unusually virtuous digimon while the rest of the population hardly went beyond “champion” and “ultimate” Alas, such utopia found its end when a terrible and cruel digimon from another universe known as Parallelmon invaded and easily defeated the not used to battle inhabitants of that world where violence and evil were pretty much gone and digimon had no need for the “to kill or to die” AKA “survival of the fittest” philosophy that reigned in other digital worlds, therefore most of the digimon grew to be weaker than their battle-seasoned counterparts of the more violent worlds and only the few who still practiced for the arts of combat and war managed to put any resistance against the alien menace. For a long time, the inhabitants of the digital world fought against the invader digimon, but only by one the lords of each clan were slain and at the end very few combat-capable digimon remained. Desperate times called for desperate measures and the most brilliant minds of the world created the “Laplace demon” program, which once installed within the digicore of a digimon, let it’s owner detect the dimensional distortions caused by the sneaky enemy to warp in and out and even re-activate those dimensional gates to pursue the foe no matter where he went. Despite all those effort, the once green and fertile world become a land hostile against life and the destroyer from another universe left, having satiated his lust for destruction. Eventually the digital world got better, but that’s a story for another time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sin stained wings In that kind of digital world was where Ciel was born and raised. Since birth she trained from day to night to hone her battle skills as she wanted to become one of the heavenly knights protecting the lords of the angel clan and judges of the digital world: the celestial digimon Seraphimon and Ophanimon. Even during those times of peace sometimes a greedy digimon tried to stage a coup d’état and change the status quo of the world, and during those times was when the judges of the digital world, the angel clan, was needed to bring justice and judgement on the sinners. As a combat-type angel digimon, she proved to be rather skilled in battle and the instructor and leader of the heavenly knights Slashangemon saw in her the potential to become a great keeper of peace. However, the way she was eventually accepted into the ranks of the knights was not the way she wanted to: She along other trainees were immediately enlisted right after the death of the original knights, slash angemon being one of them, who were slain by Parallelmon and become a rather hasty and unprepared replacement as no one had the skills of the now deceased slashangemon and if he couldn’t defeat parallelmon, there was no way his students could fare better. The great slashangemon died protecting their lords Seraphimon and Ophanimon, and in his memory all his students fought showing great courage against the invader, but a match for him they were not and the burden of having failed to avenge her mentor and failed to protect her lords would be something that would haunt forever Ciel. When all the clans lost their lords, Ciel joined forces with all the remaining combat-type digimon from all the clans and together they formed a multi-racial group devoted to sacrifice themselves in suicidal battles against parallelmon to find his weakness, and that was how the Laplace demon program was born from the data gathered from the many battles against the vile creature. Alas, it was too late to do anything for their world despite having found the key to defeat parallelmon, so the remaining troops installed the program within their digicores and begun an journey through time and space to defeat once for all parallelmon before he could destroy more digital worlds just like he did to their own. Ciel along her group made new friends and lost new friends during the long journey and realized just how different could be the many digital worlds in the multiverse and how the way evolution worked for digimon varied from world to world, but something that never changed was that there was always a bunch of digimon who like them, were ready to give their life for a greater cause. Eventually and despite how many times they gained new allies, the group slowly grew smaller after many deaths in foreign worlds and at the end only Ciel remained from the group. The cruel creature always made sure to only kill a few of them and let the survivors live with anguish in their hearts, and his evil game bore fruit: Ciel was both physically and mentally scarred from the many tragic events in her life and as the sole survivor become a rather taciturn and cynical digimon with an ambiguous morality, the angel knight who once believed only in justice and fought for peace no longer existed and now only lived to destroy the digimon she can’t help but hate with passion. And now, her restless hunt for parallelmon brought her to the digital world of the digimon tamers universe, a place where her endless waltz with parallelmon continued and hopefully would end with one of them dead. |
Personal item: Laplace demon program: An unique kind of program created in another universe that tracks dimensional anomalies and enables Ciel to use the dimensional gates opened by Parallelmon or any other space-time warping digimon. It offers no advantages against anything that doesn't use space-time manipulation. Training sword: A wooden training sword with high sentimental value from her days as a knight trainee. A reminder of what she once used to be. |
