Name: Vincent Charles Tudor
Nickname: Guzi, an attempt to have a Japanese sounding name. Comes from the Polish word for ‘buttons’. In the newspaper, he’s known as Ryuzaki Taiga. This is because he doesn’t want to be connected to crap-fest it has become, and thought it would be awesome having a name that referenced both dragons and tigers.
Age: 27
Ethnicity: Anglo-Saxon/Polish
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 170 lbs.
Sex: Male
Alignment: Neutral
Birth Date: October 3
Birth Place: London, England
Relatives:
Charles Richard Tudor – Father – 62
Agatha Lorelei Martian Tudor – Mother – 57
Gordon Charles Tudor – Older Brother – 37
Lillian “Lily” Agnes Tudor – Older Sister – 30
Tiffany Marie Lears – Ex-girlfriend – 27
Lance Robert Lears – Son – 5
Koen – Partner – Born this year [he’s considered family, by Vincent]
Personality: Being British, people would expect Vincent in being composed and sophisticated. For the most part, people would be correct; though he would wish they would stop worrying about what everyone thinks. He tends not to care how people think in general. The journalist just likes to act like he’s in control of himself, rather thoughtful in his actions than jumping the gun. He can be sarcastic. It’s more often used to make light on the situation, than just to be mean. Same deal with his criticism. He is not afraid to be honest, but will carry the comments with tact. Instead of something like, “That was bloody damn awful,” about a singer’s performance, he would choose to say, “It could use fine-tuning.” The man doesn’t take threats too lightly, to the point he can get a bit obsessive with the problem. He’ll find ways to remove them or keep them in check. However, he won’t cause fights unless that threat goes after him or his family. The man isn’t to be taken lightly, as he’s more than able and willing to defend himself. If he can’t escape, he’ll rely on improvisation or boxing, which he had taken in high school, to get out of it. If he isn’t in need to protect himself or someone he cares about, he’ll avoid conflict. If he sees one forming, he’ll try his best to talk the parties out of it. If they choose to do it anyways, he’ll take it as no big deal and move out of their way. The man isn’t afraid of getting information. A quick Google or wiki search won’t do it for him; it’s looking through at all possible sources of knowledge on the subject. Coming with his job, he’s efficient at finding, studying, and reporting data. He’s will to spend months on a subject, if he feels that the fruits of labor will be worth it.
Appearance:
He stands at 5’11” and is a skinny, 170 pounds. His eyes are green, not evil glaring red, and are behind silver framed glasses. The journalist has long brown hair, and maintains a short, full-beard. He likes to dress nicely; confused easily for a British scholar. He likes wearing different long coats, depending on which one he happens to grab. The one pictured is his purple coat. He also has a white and gray and a complete black. Vincent doesn’t like the latter, as people tend to give comments as, “You sound and look like a British villain.”
History: Vincent was the youngest child in his family. He didn’t behave the youngest of many other families, always as seen trying to be the most independent. It was because he was fueled by sibling rivalry and admiration. The family prided itself in its strong military and dependability background. This was no different from the children. They weren’t asked to drills or address their parents as ‘sir’. Charles and Agatha only ask their children to make them proud and to take responsibility. For the most part, all three acted mature on a regular basis. This is the start of his hate for nicknames. He always viewed ‘Vince’ as the baby way to call him, always telling people “It’s Vincent.” The only thing different between him and his siblings was as the older two wanted to add themselves to the list of accomplished Tudors, Vincent wanted to tell about it. He was always telling his many friends about someone’s military career, the dinner table about what he had learned, or a teacher on what he learned and why they should go teach the rest of the class about it. The story-telling habit stayed with him growing up; wanting to present facts to other people. This is why he’s a journalist today.
It wasn’t until high school that he started to learn about other culture, or to be more accurate, other cultures’ entertainment. Because of his best friend, he started listening to more American rock music and watched anime. The two were quiet about their hobby; Victor mainly because he didn’t feel like trying to explain that animation was more than for kid’s entertainment. He’s always has liked animation, in fact once tried to get into drawing. However, he grew impatient, stopping when he felt that he wasn’t improving fast enough. Then the shows and the music where enough, they both started had to learn about the cultures themselves. Since America felt too similar, he was more interested in Japan. With his grades high enough and the program available, he decided to be an exchange student. He proved to be a quick learner in speaking, but had a hard time getting use to writing. The experience was good for him; making him more confident in talking to people as well having interesting conversations. Getting home was both exciting and sad. He was more than happy to tell the entire school about his trip, but he wanted go back to talk to his other friends also. Vincent got a job, working his butt off so he could go during his summer breaks.
It wasn’t until he was in college he met his love his life. Her name was Tiffany, and like Vincent, had a love of other cultures and learning about people. They met in both psychology and sociology, the study of people. It started off as being random seat buddies, talking about what they did in class, and random subjects. For some reason, Vincent took a liking to her. They decide to meet out of class, first for study sessions. Then it wasn’t long before they were dates. Everything seemed to be doing well. He was going to graduate with high marks, his siblings are in the jobs they want to be in, Mom and Dad are happily retired without problems, and Tiffany was the woman he was going to marry. It was a couple days after graduation that he found out something interesting. After work, he went to grab dinner at a restaurant, seeing Tiffany with another man. Normally he wasn’t going to accuse her of cheating, but this wasn’t an ordinary man. The two were making out with each other. Of course, he went up to confront them on this. Tiffany finally explained that she’s been dating with him and two other men at the same time, hoping that would calm him down. She was shocked by his reaction, trying to tell him it was the 21st century, and that was normal. Vincent told her his feelings, “I don’t care what freaking century it is. I thought what we had was only between us. Even if I live to see a day where women dated 20 men at one time; I would find the women who have the same values as me. And stop saying ‘too traditional’ like it’s a bad thing!”
The man was heartbroken. Though it was Tiffany’s fault, he felt that he had to share the blame. He, alone, wasn’t enough to satisfy her, so she went off to find more men while dating him. Vincent was ashamed of himself, wanted to just get away from everyone. That’s what he exactly did. He was originally going to move to Liverpool, but instead sent himself to Tokyo, Japan. He told his family he wanted a change of scenery, also to let Tiffany to ‘set her priorities straight.’ He couldn’t bring himself to tell them what happened between them, even as much as saying he would pay visits to her as he visited them. Luckily, his Japanese friends helped him find an apartment, as well as a newspaper to work at. 3 decades ago, The Monthly Sunshine was a critically-acclaimed paper white well-written articles that are relevant to everyone. Sadly, it was dying out when Vincent got to it. It was three months into the job that it was obvious that the paper was going to die. Vincent felt that he was going to stick to it in the end; as he enjoyed his work.
Like the previous good relationship he had, it went to hell really quickly. A businessman, Kyon Tsunado, bought the Monthly Sunshine. Everyone thought this was good news, until the British man found out the plans that were going to happen. Mr. Tsunado told everyone that he was going to make “The Shine” into the fastest selling paper in the country. Besides the new name and look, it changed from being “Bringing the light to current issues,” to “For the real info you need to know.” Vincent took the new quote has a hollow mockery. The ‘real info’ was filler on celebrities and rumors. To make things worse, he was put on ‘stalker duty’, the British man’s word for getting pictures and interviews with celebrities. It bothered him more that he couldn’t write all of his articles for the paper itself, the paper serving as a teasing advertisement to come online for ridiculous information. To try to set itself up as cool, it started to populate on social networking sites, getting people to e-mail them, for a chance to appear on their site and paper. The Shine had become the MTV of newspaper. It didn’t care they didn’t report real news, the younger generation loved it. Vincent was saddened that because of its success, other media outlets have followed suit. That paper was considered a sad joke, so he couldn’t go anywhere else for another journalism career.
There were two reasons that he doesn’t flat out quit the teenage wasteland. The money he gets is ridiculously high, not that he’s complaining; and his son. For the record with his family, he had broken up with Tiffany 8 months before Lance’s birth. That was the time he had stopped making regular visits. His job was starting to get busy and wasn’t allowed much vacation time as the publications were weekly. He received a call from Tiffany, asking if she could receive child support. Somehow, she figured he didn’t tell his family the truth. Vincent was tempted to decline, as a blood test would disprove it. He however thought about it. The journalist figured she’s asking because one of her many boyfriends won’t pay up. He told her if his sister and mother can help, he would be more than willing. He figured that they would tell him if she was spending the money on anything else but the child. He thought, “Why should the kid suffer because his Mom is a moron?”
Originally he wasn’t going to have any contact with Lance, that his until both his mom and sister convinced him. Vincent is glad that they forced him. At first he thought it would be awkward, writing about how the kid was doing and have his mother read them to him. Over time, he was actually interested in what new thing he did, wishing he could be there himself. Now, he accepts the fact there is only one thing he loves to write about; telling Lance about his father. Granted, he leaves out the part “Oh yeah. I’m not your birth father and originally wasn’t going to have anything to do with you.”
For now, he only has two goals to work for. Hoping to find another high paying job to get out of his current line of work. The second is to raise enough money in which he can send his family and son over to Japan. Vincent figures it would be awesome to hangout with his family and get to have a real conversation with his adopted son. The man figures that nothing but more hate for modern media is going to change in his life. It’s not like something is going to plop down out of nowhere.
Info: If you need great pictures, well-written papers, liaison, or tail; give him a call. It’s not recommended to make him your chef, maid, or mathematician.
Characters should note his heavy British accent. It tends to make people ask or think “Where did he come from?”
When he is speaking English, the speech will be in < >, with in the quotation marks. Examples, “<Bloody hell of a mess.>” or “If you wanted to say that in English, you would say, <Hello, my name is Vincent.>” The only time a character would understand anything said within “< >”, is if they are able to understand English.
Digivice Appearance:
It’s your normal D-Arc, with a different color scheme. The base is white, but the ring around the screen and buttons are silver. The sides of the body and cyan strap are decorated with gold stripes.
Digimon: Patamon, nicknamed “Koen” [Co-In]
Sex: Male
Personality: The digimon’s personality tends to remind people of human children. New to living, he’s still learning about both worlds. Koen is a bit naïve, whenever he asks a question he’ll take the first answer as a fact written in stone. It’s not to say he isn’t clever. If there’s something he wants, he won’t stop until he reaches his goal. It mostly comes into play because of his compulsive sweet tooth. The patamon will do everything it takes to satisfy the addiction. Well, that’s if Vincent doesn’t tell him to stop. When wanting to be pleasing and always when his tamer is watching, Koen is obedient. He’ll question time to time, but will not reject or ignore his tamer’s requests. Being social, he loves to meet new people, in hopes they’ll either be a playmate or give him sweets. He will try to use his cuteness, in order to be sympathetic or to manipulate. Battling is a different story. His virus buster instincts will kick in, determined to fight anyone who wants to cause harm to other people. He can be rash, sometimes ignoring Vincent’s pleas to stop, believing fighting is the only solution. As he digivolves, he’ll be more and more battle-focused. He prefers to attack enemies after they make their move, in hopes that they’ll be vulnerable. Koen values Vincent, as he’s a great supporter and helps him think of how to take down the enemy. Unlike Vincent, he wants to fight until the enemy no longer can fight back. Otherwise, he loves his human trainer; hoping to become more like him.
