HIKARU SAKAMOTO
________________________________________
Name: Sakamoto, Hikaru Nickname: --- Age: 14 Gender: Male Ethnicity: 50% Japanese, 50% British Height: 5' 4" Weight: 118 lbs. Birth Date: 12-25 Birth Place: Tokyo Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Relatives:
» Junichi Sakamoto - Father - Age 40 » Emiko Sakamoto - Mother - Age 36 » Hikari Sakamoto - Twin Sister - Age 14 » Takeshi Sakamoto - Brother - Age 12 » Takuya Sakamoto - Brother - Age 7 » Yuki Sakamoto - Sister - Age 5
Personality: While Hikaru isn't exactly a boring person, he isn't really that interesting either. He sits right in the middle, being interesting enough to capture someone's attention yet normal enough not to be seen as being captivating or anything like that. Then again, he doesn't pride himself on his socialization skills so things like being cool or popular don't really click with him for the most part. The things he does care about are his freedom and the ability to have choices, always striving to do what he wants to do rather than being held down or obstructed. While he doesn't necessarily have that many goals, he makes sure he keeps an open mind to everything in case something does come to him. In other words, he's a fairly flexible person when it comes to ideas and ways of thinking.
He tends to be rather calm and passive, not really getting excited about much for the most part which leads people to believe that he's boring. But really the fact is that he isn't interested in many things. Being content is just fine too, at least in his own opinion. After all, being content with things is better than being discontent. Though, there are certain things he is a bit uneasy about and seems as though he will never get over it. When it comes affection, whether friendship or romantic, he seems quite apprehensive and often pushes back. The thing he fears most would be to get hurt, though for some reason he thinks getting hurt is just fine since he already knows it coming. In other words, he goes out searching to get emotionally hurt, almost as though he craves it. Physical pain, however, is something he just doesn't care about and tends to ignore it. If anything, physical pain makes him feel alive.
Hikaru has a deep belief in karma and is unwavering when it comes to that belief. He believes that bad things happen to people simply because they deserve it and that the only way to overcome those bad things is to simply push through it. Therefore, when he gets hurt or is put into a bad situation, he'll simply grit his teeth and push forward with all his might. Despite being overly pessimistic and jaded, he doesn't like to be viewed as loser or just quitting. Not to say he has a lot of pride, but he has enough pride to do something even if it is something little.
Even though he has a relatively negative mindset about himself, he is actually much different when it comes to his siblings. Being the oldest, he tends to tell them the exact opposite of what he tells himself. His job as a big brother overrides his own insecurities and the "truth" of reality, causing him to constantly build their confidence up and always supporting what the want to do. Not only that, but he believes that it is his ultimate responsibility to protect them all no matter what the stakes are. If anything, he is probably the perfect big brother, though he just believes he is doing nothing more than what he is supposed to do.
Honesty is key with this boy and he is extremely honest. However, sometimes his honesty can translate into being blunt and straightforward which sometimes leads to hurting others' feelings. He tries his best not to do that, continually being filled up with a sort of inner conflict about being honest or being considerate about others' feelings. He does have a sense of humor, but it usually lies in his great deal of sarcasm, something he uses to stay partially sane. All in all, he comes off as being mature though he still has quite the childish streak in him as well but that only shows in times of stress.
Physical Appearance: Hikaru stands at a decent height, being somewhere around average though nowhere being above it. Even so, he takes on a somewhat scrawny look to him though he is much stronger than he leads on. Well proportioned body, he doesn't seem to be muscular at all but the fact that he has a fairly low body fat percentage means that he indeed does have plenty of muscle just not visible since he has a small body. Because of those facts, it is easy to see why he would be extremely fast on foot and likes to run. There's one thing he likes about his body, the fact that he can fool people into thinking he's not an athlete though he clearly loves sports of all types. Not only that, but his delicate skin makes it look like he's one of those prissy boys who like shopping and pretending to be cool, but he is truly an outdoors kind of guy.
Bright blond hair and blue eyes, those are a couple of the features that stand out about him. Even though his hair appears short, it's actually much longer than one would believe it to be. The only reason it appears to be shorter than its true length is because of the fact he ties some of it in a fairly small ponytail in the back, similar to how the samurai used to tie their hair up. This is done in such a subtle manner that most people hardly realize that his hair is actually mid length and not short as his hair style suggests. Another thing about his hair is that he often has to get it trimmed simply because it grows extremely fast. Other than getting it trimmed often, he really doesn't do much to it and tends to leave his hair messy.
Clothing: He isn't a fashion expert or anything, so his clothes don't really stand out for the most part. A simple white t-shirt is worn underneath a sleeveless, forest green hoodie. The front pockets of the hoodie are somewhat large, though there's almost never anything in them and even if there is something in them they'd hardly be important to him. Hell, he almost never carries many things on his person unless he prepares to do so ahead of time so he'd probably have a backpack with him. In addition to that, he'd either wear a pair of jeans or a pair of matching forest green cargo shorts. Not that green is his favorite color, he just happens to like the outfit and the fact that even though his hoodie is sleeveless it still has a hood in case his head gets cold which it normally does.
Hikaru can often be seen with his iPod and a pair of large headphones, constantly listening to music.
History: Hikaru's father was always a hard working man, even as a kid. That man always knew what he wanted and worked hard to make it a reality, knowing for sure that he one day wanted a large family to call his own since he grew up in a rather quiet household as the only child. Hikaru was the first born child into their family, his twin sister Hikari coming only a few minutes after. However, they would be the first but not the last of the children born into the family.
Things were somewhat normal in this household, though they had to move into a larger house once the third child was born. It always seemed like they had the perfect family, hardly arguing even when the most obnoxious problems arose. Things didn't start to change until his father developed a drinking problem, slowly tearing their entire family apart. It wasn't that he was a bad man, but rather the alcohol in his system had begun to change who he was. At least that's what Hikaru believed. Eventually, things just became...well...violent. Sometimes his father would hit him or even his siblings and more often than not, his mother.
Though his father was a great provider, there were just some things that were more important than that. Either way, everyone just learned how to deal with it because in the end, none of them could survive without his paycheck. Over the years, Hikaru became somewhat bitter and a bit bored with life since he was forced to grow up so quickly. He was more interested in protecting his siblings and mother than anything else. Though Hikaru was the one who was spared most from his father's beatings, Hikari was the exact opposite.
It was as though no matter what he couldn't protect his twin sister, as if he was just sitting by while she was in pain. It was then where he decided he'd try harder to protect her forever and try to make it his personal obligation to do his duty. After all, he loved her more than anything else in the world and therefore, he had to do whatever was possible in order to protect her. However, life had to go on, no matter how horrible or terrifying it was. Everyday, walking though the door was like playing Russian Roulette. Though he hadn't received as many beatings as his other siblings, the ones he received were the most severe by far. Being as he was a boy, he was supposed to be able to handle more or at least that was his father's logic. There were multiple times where he's been put into the hospital for being injured so badly, three to be exact. Though his father never outwardly admitted it, the other reason to the severity of his beatings was the fact that Hikaru never gave up. No matter how much blood he lost, no matter what the pain, he would silently stand back up as if to say he could take more.
For some reason, thing were always different for him. Eventually his father gave up on beating Hikaru for the most part, almost as though he was somewhat afraid of the boy's inner will or something silly. Either way, he wanted out of that hell hole. The only way he could escape was to pick up a ridiculous amount of extracurricular activities and jobs as well. Of course, he had already been heavily into kendo as a young child, but he became even more so when he was given the title of President of the Kendo Club. It was all he had, the only thing that was his own. It was nothing more than physical representation of his will.
Relationships were always hard for him, if not impossible, especially since he had been split up from his sister. Even while talking to another girl, all he could think of was of his own sister. Maybe that was wrong, but to him it felt natural. Then again, maybe it was of his own fear that he wouldn't be accepted or maybe that one day that person would just throw him away like a piece of garbage that wasn't meant to be loved by anyone. Every time someone would approach him with a confession, he'd simply shut himself in and push everyone else away with not an ounce of consideration for others. After a while, he began to think of himself as garbage, not worth a thing at all. The only way he felt that he could prove himself was to continue onward and win kendo tournaments. Even when he brought home trophies, it didn't matter. Winning and losing no longer meant anything, not when your own father didn't recognize you as being anything more than a waste of sperm and egg.
At school, people admired him for being so strong, yet the rumors about his family could not be stopped. His family name was shamed by that poor excuse for a father and nothing he could do would ever reverse that kind of reputation. Upon leaving school after some late practice, he had been approached by several other boys who kindly showed him how worthless he was by beating him into the ground. He didn't fight back, he didn't want to. Why would he? Death was the only escape from the terrible existence he continued to live. Even as that final punch found its mark to his face, all he could do was laugh maniacally. Pain was all he knew, being hurt didn't matter anymore. Apparently they didn't know what kind of freak he truly was. As he laid there in a pool of his own blood, he could only continue laughing as tears streamed down his face as if he had truly slipped away into the realm of a mad man.
It wasn't too much longer after that when his sister's problems began to spill out into the open, prompting him to skip school and go to her school without her knowledge. Of course, it didn't take long for him to find the boy and deliver a promise to take his life upon the next time he heard anything about him touching his sister. There really wasn't much he could do about it if it was truly consensual except deliver a punch to the boy's gut to make sure that he and everyone watching would understand the severity of his words. With that, he left and hoped that his sister would be safer because of his actions. It seemed that everything was for naught.
One night, Hikari's endless crying reached his ears and after prodding, he figured out what had happened. Rage equivalent to the thunder in the sky as lightning crackled across the horizon, it could not be quelled. Along with that rage was sadness, knowing that his sister had been hurt and that he failed to do his job. Comforting her that night, he decided to make sure to make his move the next day. Hikaru had followed Takeshi and his friends to their favorite hang out, which they didn't leave and split up until around after sunset. Wielding nothing more than a knife, he wore a mask as he attacked the other boy from behind. Slamming him to the ground was easy enough, but he stabbed him in the arms a couple times to make sure he wouldn't get away. Pummeling the other boy with his fists, he listened to his wails of agony as he beat his judgment into his face with extreme prejudice. As he did this, all he could manage do was cry. Rather than taking his life, he performed the ultimate act of punishment that any man could suffer before leaving the boy's body in a pool of blood in the middle of the street. Sure Takeshi may have lived, but being in a wheelchair wasn't exactly fun either. Before he left, he wanted Takeshi to see his face, almost the exact same face as his sister. So what if he saw his face? The evidence was nicely disposed of. No one would ever dare cross his path again nor mess with his sister or else face the consequences.
Maybe he lost a bit of his sanity that day, but at least he had his sister all to himself for then on.
Random Info:
» Practitioner of multiple kendo styles » Hates math » Loves running » Has hypoglycemia » Favorites foods are bananas, popsicles and cake » Least favorite foods are cabbage and carrots » As far as previous knowledge of the Digimon Trading Card Game, he occasionally plays with his younger brother and twin sister mostly because they force him, though he's not nearly as good as they are

____________________________________
Digimon: Lucemon Nickname: Akihiko or Aki-kun Gender: Male Personality: His demeanor is very much like his tamer, almost mirroring him if anything. The small angel digimon is very calm, cool headed and quite easy going for the most part. Unlike Hikaru, he likes to be extremely optimistic and tends to try to raise the boy's spirits whenever he gets the chance to do so. Not only that, but he is very protective of Hikaru and tends to keep an eye out for danger even before Hikaru himself seems to realize it. Even so, he isn't the really the type to keep things to himself unless he realizes that the information in question would bother Hikaru. After all, Hikaru's happiness is Aki's happiness and he wouldn't want to put that in jeopardy.
That child-like appearance pretty much describes his personality at times. Sometimes he goes on a childish streak, much like Hikaru and tends to become a bit bratty if he doesn't get his way with something. Although he is ultimately loyal to Hikaru, he has no problem with doing something for the good of others without his tamer's command. He'd even go as far as sacrificing himself if he knew that someone would benefit from it. The angel digimon has his moments where he could be thinking deeply about something, but he tends to always play it off as though he is nothing more than a silly child.
