Lei Zhong (Father) ~ 70 Years
Ling Zhong (Mother) ~ 45 Years
Personality:
In contrast to her younger days, Ling is rather reserved. She will think before speaking and always attempt to add insight into conversations. She is very careful about her actions as she knows that every action has a consequence, whether it be good or bad. As such, she will always attempt to think things through carefully and does not act upon impulse.
Ling can generally get along well with people, and form bonds quickly. She is a very attractive girl because of her intellect, and ways with words, although she can be very stubborn. She has a rather docile personality. She is very gentle when it comes to handling objects, however she can be very brutal in her speech. She has very low tolerance for pain, so she can be broken down very easily, however in tough situations, she will always attempt to use cunning to escape from the situation.
Appearance:
Ling Zhong has brown hair like both of her parents, however it more closely resembles her mother's hair than her father's hair because it isn't so dark. She also has inquisitive brown eyes. Ling stands at 5'4" and weighs around 102 LBS. Her body is very much in shape as she spends a lot of time exercising and working on her form which ultimately helps with her martial arts training. She's very flexible and very limber as well.
Ling will most often wear her hair in a long ponytail. Very very rarely will she wear her hair long and let it flow. She likes the pony tail. She wears a pink collared shirt and somewhat baggy pink pants to go along with them. Her shirt is short enough to leave her belly button exposed because in her own style, she likes to show some skin in hopes of getting some attention from boys. With her, a compliment can go a long way.
History:
Being the daughter of General Lei Zhong of the Chinese Military, Ling always grew up with an interest in the military. Despite the fact that both of her parents were loving and caring, her father was very rarely around as he was often away on business concerning the army. Still, she was able to spend a lot of time with her mother, and due to the money that her father made, the two of them lived a rather comfortable life.
At the age of 7, Ling finally began going to school where her teachers had really high expectations of her. Her father had apparently earned quite a reputation for his intelligence, especially in geography, but Ling was nothing like him in that respect. It wasn't that she wasn't intelligent, but she lacked the focus to sit in a classroom and listen to a teacher all day, and even more, she lacked the focus to sit down on her own and study outside of school. Her interests were in playing with the other kids and practicing bending. Her grades weren't terrible, but they remained average, no where near as exceptional as her father's grades had been.
Ling had gained the reputation in her class as the class clown. She was very outspoken and often made jokes where jokes didn't need to be made. She craved the attention of others, although this was mostly a void to fill up for the lack of attention which she was getting from her father. Her mother really didn't know how to handle her at all as neither of her parents were like that. It was a case of the apple falling very far away from the tree. Her mother wasn't the type to punish Ling, so she only asked kindly for Ling to become a better student, but Ling could never make herself do that.
It wasn't until Ling's father, General Lei, was finally contacted about the classroom disturbance Ling was causing that it was ironed out. He was rather strict as a disciplinarian and he pretty much grounded her from pretty much from any kind of outside-of-school socialization for an entire year. Still, Ling understood why she was given the punishment after having taken things way too far. She also learned how strict her father could be which put an end to her clowning and she finally began putting her heart into her studies.
In order to further scold her and make her have less time for socialization, her father enrolled her in martial arts, Baguazhang, to be more specific. She was somewhat talented as a martial artist, but she didn't really enjoy it at first. He continued pushing her to study under her teacher, but she acted as more of a class clown. By the time she was 11, her father had been able to find a master for her whom he hired to give her Private Lessons, and he whipped her into shape.
With her master she progressed rather well. He was an excellent martial arts teacher. As such, she excelled in her training and was finally able to graduate from his teachings at the age of 13 being much better than the average adult marital artist in Baguazhang. At the age of 14 she participated in martial arts contests in china and won the junior women's division championship. Her father would have been proud. Unfortunately, he didn't get a chance to congratulate her as he was much too busy with work.
