For long the citizens of Shengxiao have suffered the spell of the great Goddess Xiao, in retribution to the sins of their ancestors. Destined to always be Xiao's faithful servants, the inhabitants of this cursed city transform into the creatures they are bound to on every night of a pre-determined month, deeming them as "unacceptable" to society outside of their home.
However, not all are so accepting of their existence...
Known as the Sheng, they wish to rise against Xiao, and cut her from the equation altogether. Lead by the mysterious renegade of the Cat Clan, Salix, the Sheng desire to place Xiao back into her place as a Goddess, rather than an overlord, and reclaim their fates for themselves.
