The Digivice is a device created by Kodai, a gaming company in order to house virtual pets known as Digimon. Some play the game merely to raise a cute little monster, while others play the game to train them to fight. In either case, the Digimon may grow and develop into the perfect companion for the holder. This is based on simple commands upon the device allowing the user decisions such as feeding the digimon, scolding it, fighting, or showing it in-game affection.
By connecting the Digivice to a computer, the holder can upload his Digimon into the three dimensional Digital World where he can guide the Digimon through the MMO-like universe. He can team up with other tamers to fight wild Digimon, or challenge other players to combat. The possibilities are truly endless.
>> To store its Digimon's data and allow the user to care for the virtual pet that resides within.
>> To allow the user to scan Tamer-Cards (Digi-Modify) and power up his/her Digimon.
>> To reconfigure the data of a digimon who has been defeated in combat (in d-battle, digiworld, or real world). After defeat a digimon's data returns to its digivice in egg form. It typically takes a day for the egg to hatch, and a week to progress to rookie form.
>> Prevents data from being loaded by enemy digimon.
THE DIGITAL WORLD
The Digital World is where a majority of Digimon Competitions are held. Simply by hooking up his digivice to a computer with internet access via a USB capble, the user can transport his/her digimon into the Digital World.
The Digital World is dangerous throughout, and it is meant to be a place for combat. Therefore, people who are not interested in raising powerful fighter Digimon typically do not use this aspect of the game.
>> Webcam&Audio allow a tamer to interact with other players, as well as his/her own Digimon. Over time, the Digimon may learn to recognize his/her tamer's voice.
>> A vast interactive world to explore for Digimon and Tamers.
Unbeknownst to even the creators of Digimon, these creatures they made are sentient life forms; they have a mind of their own. What's more, there exists a Digivice upgrade created by an anonymous user which has been placed on a computer in the Nagasaki Library in Tokyo. Upon hooking a digivice up to this computer, the digivice will automatically upgrade. The end result being that the digivice allows the digimon to open a portal to and from the Real World.
