Hana was tossed aside like a limp ragdoll. Landing in a heep in the flowers, Lala revealed herself. "Hana-chan! Hana-chaaaaaaaaaan!" Lala cried as she tried to get the girl to respond. She seemed to be unconsious from the ordeal. "Are you proud of yourself? Are you proud that you picked on a little girl half your age? That you hurt your own sister?" Lala screamed at Shana. Taking hold of Hana's t-shirt, the little digimon fluttered into the air, disappearing beyond the trees, hoping to get her tamer as far from here as possible.

Marik had just been taking a walk through the forest, with a little alone time to use up after he had finished his homework. He had expected some relaxation time, but then he heard distant screams through the trees, accompanied by an undeniably familiar voice. "She can't go a day without picking on someone can she?" Kudamon muttered from his usual spot inside his coat. Marik sighed, and rushed over.
He was too late though, but not late enough not to catch Shana's victim running off. This, he wasn't expecting. This was many times worse than what. Picking on her sister? She was half her size and bleeding! "What the heck is wrong with you Shana?" Marik said, half shouting, attempting to keep his tone level. "Is it not enough that you broke into an apartment building and forced the tamers inside to fight? What is it you are trying to prove here?" Marik's patience was at it's breaking point. He may have been tolerant of her behavior for a bit, but he had been stepped on way too many times, and he was about to break.

Shana had listened to everything that Lalamon had been saying, but allowed herself to be unfazed by the words. She wouldn't allow herself to care about and would continue to justify everything she had done in her own mind. Of course she thrived on power and always wanted to feel powerful, but was that really so wrong? Shana didn't think so, or at least, she forced herself not to think about it too much. But just as she was about to walk away, she turned in shock hearing the voice of her boyfriend coming from right behind her.
"Hrm... Not like she didn't have it coming, Marik-kun... She has to understand that I'm in charge, that's all. I'm her older sister, she has to respect me."
Shana spoke rather calmly as though she were just stating facts in some kind of lecture. Everything that had happened really didn't seem to effect her at all. On the other hand, Aruraumon did seem quite a bit concerned. Still, she didn't want to say anything that would upset Shana. She took it upon herself to make sure that Shana was happy, but keeping Shana happy often seemed to be rather difficult.
Shana's expression would quickly change from having been so serious to an expression of excitement as she would smile. She took a step forward and took Marik's hand and continued walking with him somewhat forcibly dragging him along behind her.
"Anyway Marik-kun! I'm starving! Lets get something to eat!"

"Respect?" He said in disbelief, completely ignoring her attempts to change the subject. "There is nothing to respect about people who pick on those weaker then themselves." He said, barely hiding his anger. "Only the weak pick on the weaker Shana. That is what you are when you beat on your little sister or anyone else who can't fight back. That is what you are when you force people into battles when they are at a disadvantage. There is nothing to respect about people who are weak." Where had his kind and tolerant personality gone? Well, even Marik had a breaking limit. There was only so many times he could let Shana walk all over his dislike of fighting, dragging him before he became frustrated.

Aruraumon simply stood there behind Shana. She had never seen Shana so speechless in all of the time that they had been together. Surely, she had seen Shana have her ups and downs, but she had never seen Shana with absolutely nothing to say. Shana said nothing. She was obviously shocked that she had upset Marik so much. Still, Aruraumon beileved that what Marik had said was true, so she said nothing. She hoped that Shana would understand, but she really couldn't see Shana be any other way.
"I... Um... Marik-kun..." Shana struggled for her words, but she had nothing to say in her defense. She knew any justification that she gave would likely upset Marik even more, and when he was this upset, she didn't want to push him over the edge. She was actually scared to say anything at this point. The last thing that she wanted was for him to break up with her, and she had a feeling that anything she said might push him to that point. She had never seen him this angry. She knew that she needed to say something.
"Well, what do you want from me anyway?!" She asked out of frustration. She felt as though she was in a bind, and she really was.

Shana had said nothing for quite a while, barely able to say his name. She was upset, but Marik resisted the urge to try and comfort her, as that would only be counter productive to the point he was trying to get across. She needed to learn that fighting wasn't going to get her what she wanted, and it certainly wasn't something he would put up with for the rest of his life. "What I want is for you to stop forcing people to fight you when they don't want to fight and to stop picking on those weaker than you. They don't deserve that treatment."

Shana was perplexed by what he was asking her to do. She couldn't understand it exactly, or rather, she didn't want to believe it. She didn't know if she could comply to what he had asked of her. But at the same time, she didn't want to break up with him. After all of these years of building up such a reputation, it would be really hard for her to just stop, and if she did, there would be plenty of people trying to get her back. She simply couldn't allow for her reputation to die. Not only that, but she still wanted to be the best in everything. She wanted to show everyone exactly how strong she really was.
"But Marik-kun..." Shana took a step forward, hugging her arms around Marik in a warm embrace. She was still at a loss for words and she didn't want to make a promise she didn't know if she could keep.
"I love you... But I don't know if I can..."

Marik wanted to just pull a way, to persist in his anger, try to drive it into Shana's head that he couldn't keep forcing himself to love her when she continued to treat people the way she did. But just as his docile temperment meant he didn't like fighting, it also prevented him from being able to stay angry for too long. "I love you too Shana. You can, and even if its difficult, I'll be there for you, and so will Aruraumon." Marik said, returning the hug. "You may have made some enemies, and some might not accept that you've changed. But they don't matter. Your friends and family matter Shana, and it will make us all happy, and we will always be there for you and help you any way we can." Marik heaved a sigh, and kissed Shana's forehead. He didn't know what more he could say to Shana. If she at least tried, he'd be there for her, if she couldn't... He didn't know how he could cope with it.

Still in her hug with Marik, Shana began to think. He was being very comforting and he had put through a lot. She had never known that it had really bothered him that much, but hurting her sister the way she did really took the cake. Even she hadn't thought she could do something so bad, but seeing her sister bleeding from the mouth was too much. She knew she needed to stop.
"I'd do anything for you Marik-kun... I promise I'll do my best to be your perfect lover."
She hugged him even tighter now, clenching onto him with all of her strength. She didn't want to let him go. She would never want to let him go. She was scared of what she had become, and even more scared that he would leave her. She didn't think she could ever bare the thought of him leaving her.
"I never want to leave you Marik-kun."
