"A clash of swords ..."
She thought all the noises came from members of the same group, but instead they belonged to warriors fighting each other, the noise of battle and swords clashing a clear proof of such blood-soaked taking place outside. The darcmon felt like it was better to remain hiding within the store, but then she peeked a little, looking to the main entrance and saw it, a white feather partially colored red by the blood soaking it. It was an angel's feather, Ciel knew perfectly it as the feathers of bird and angel digimon were different and an angel like herself would know the difference. She didn't even bothered to tell anything else to her student and directly left flying at full speed out of the store to witness with her own eyes what happened: Another darcmon who looked younger than Ciel lied on a pool of her own blood on the arid and dirty soil of the bad lands, judging by the wounds she was either dead or agonizing ... but Ciel couldn't bother to inspect more closely her status, the enemy, a devimon who looked like a sword wielding variation of his species, was there along his underlings and his massive sword still had the fresh red liquid of the injured angel dripping of its edge.
"A mere recruit ... I was like her before ..."
Her face displayed now an expression of anger and sorrow, the body of the dead .. or maybe not dead darcmon reminded her of the massacre her clan suffered at hands of parallelmon and she felt like avenging the poor girl only not because the enemy were evil devils but because if she were to die, nobody would avenge her and the devimon would life for a long time, his sins remaining unpunished. Revenge, she was the angel of revenge and she was going to avenge that young angel. She unsheathed her twin swords, which were stronger than the young recruit's after being tempered in the flames of battle many times and flew at the devimon, prepared to deliver swift death on him and his minions with her sin stained blades.

- The son of a b*tch*... - tylomon exclaimed as he witnessed the horrible picture of what the devimon and his minions did to that poor angel, who shared striking resemblance to his teacher. She lied on the ground in the pool of her own blood, her legs brutally cut off, ad with a horrible gash across her chest. She still lived, but it was unlikely she would survive... Only for a short while, surely. Tylomon was always an impressionable digimon, and this display ... made his blood boil. Eyes slowly became red, as he was about to charge the sword-wielding devimon and tear him apart with his teeth and fins, but, fortunately for said devimon, his teacher charged him first. However, there were still his underlings, who were busy tearing the face of the still-alive angel with their sharp claws.
- Stay away from her! - he growled out, and charged straight at them, anger fueling his strength, as he dashed with all his speed and weight, wishing to crush the puny devidevimons with sheer impact of the blow, to tear them apart with his teeth, to slash them with his fins, to kill them. And hoped the teacher would leave a piece of that devimon for him to deal with. When he was close enough to the enemy minions, he suddenly made a 180 degree turn, aiming to wack the duo with his tail and fins, delivering massive damage...

- Well what do you know, I won. Come now, lil' birdie, I'm about to clip your wings! - the devimon said sadistically, as he looked down upon the shattered body of once beautiful digimon angel. She was defeated, and he knew she would die, but he could make her demise as painful as possible, and then absorb her data, so that it could serve him and his evil deeds. With a slash of his sword, one of the angel's wings was cut away, and the legless body writhed in sheer pain and horror. Her screams were like music to the devil's ears. but they weren't distracting enough to not let him hear that two more figures emerged from the small hut nearby. His eyes narrowed on opponents. Another darcmon. Peeeeeerfect.
- Well now, how fortunate of me... - the devimon said, as the darcmon charged him with both of her blades in hands. He was not caught unprepared though, being a very experienced swordsman himself, and simply lifted off at the last moment as the angel was about to slash him. He'd rather not block this assault head - on. To deflect and counter attack. Or to evade. This was the way of the sword. Devimon stood apart from most of his ilk, using such a weapon. He simply saw it as a more impressive way to kill, and indeed, combined with his strength, the zweihander was a very, very efficient weapon.
- I came here for one angel, but it seems I will get two for one deal... - he said thoughtfully, grabbing his own blade by the middle, there was a special place for grabbing it that way. A technique used in fencing with such long blades, yes, he knew it well. There was more to wielding a big sword than just hack and slash. Without any more words, the devimon darted at the angel from above, his blade effectively launched in an 8-shaped attack, which, should the enemy block this attack with her own swords, would end up in a sudden blow with the butt end and a guard of the sword. A blow with the hilt was sometimes more dangerous than the one of a blade. The devimon batted his wings to stop his assault as soon as his blade was in range - he did not want to be dodged and than slashed from a side, unable to stop his descent in time...
---------
Meanwhile, the two rookie demon minions were left on the ground, facing a giant flying armored shark. Needless to say, they were intimidated, with their master fighting the angel in the air, who would protect them from this menace? All they were good at is pursuing the fleeing foe and kicking them while they're down. And now they had to face such a menacing foe alone. When the shark charged, their spirits faltered.
- AAAAH! - the two tried running away, but in vain, the shark was too fast. His blow sent one of the demidevimon flying, bashing into the ground, and the other managed to lift off to let the attack go below. Well, if they were going to die, they would not give in without a fight!
- Poison dart! - the demidevimon exclaimed, and launched a few poisonous syringes at the hovering shark, hoping it had no ways of getting him if he stays in the air. The other minion was hurt, badly hurt, but, despite still being able to rise up, decided to feign death or something like that. The remaining demidevimon would have to fend for himself...

The foe looked like an experienced swordsman, but with a weapon so long like that, he couldn't match the speed of her light swords once she got into melee range. Ciel was more than ready to simply charge at him and stab his chest with her swords, but the odd movement of his zweihander combined with the fact that he was strong enough to slice in two the other darcmon convinced her to quickly roll in mid-air to her left at nick of time to avoid the direct clash that might end badly and immediately she tossed one of her swords at the enemy's back with all her strength before stopping on her tracks and turn around, at enough distance to be close to the devimon but not enough to be attacked from behind without giving her time to turn back.
Were he to somehow capture it like the paildramon did, he couldn't handle the pull of her ability to recall her swords, such skill had grown stronger since that battle and no matter how strong he were even if he trained as hard as she did, he would be unable to completely defeat the pull and would be better off dropping it. Besides, regardless of what he did, that would help Ciel to asses the skill of the devimon. Simply dodging the attack would prove that he's a nimble opponent while if he blocked it with his own sword would prove that his talent with the sword was quite high, and if he actually caught it by the hilt with his bare hand, that would show that his eye-hand coordination was unusually high.
Nevermind, as soon she abruptly stopped her full speed charge, she turned around and looked at the reaction the devimon had for her attack, she had to gauge how god he was before planning how to take him down in the most efficient way possible

Tylomon grunted in satisfaction as he managed to hit one of these little torturers square-on. They deserved the pain, every last one of them. The angel was still lying on the ground, dying, and he was fighting off the enemies instead of helping. The teacher was up in the air, fighting a more superior foe, and he was stuck dealing with these worthless underlings. This was pissing Tylomon off to a degree. Didn't teacher trust in his skill? Well, it probably wasn't the case, because this one was of her kind, and she wanted to avenge her. Oh well, beating up a bunch of rookies it is.
- You think you are safe up there? - the shark digimon asked maliciously as the syringes the demidevimon launched ricocheted from his tough hide. Seriously, his skin could deflect sword blows, could that puny twerp hope to pierce it with mere syringes? That was an insult to all tank forces. But, unfortunately for the flying devil, shark had more than one way of getting him from the ground.
- Eat this! - he grunted, and launched a barrage of small missiles at the flying creature, the rockets were small enough, but packed enough punch to blow the arrogant thing from the air. Or make a big boom regardless...

Well darn it, the darcmon evaded direct sword collision. Of course, that was to be expected, nobody in the right mind would want to face a full blow of such a big sword, wielded by such a powerful opponent. Devimon sure had a good idea in mind with stopping his own charge just enough away to attack with his sword - the angel, after dodging, flied past him and turned around, tossing her sword at him. Unfortunately for her, while she was doing the whole fly around sword toss thing, the devimon simply turned and faced the incoming attack.
- Knave. - he stated calmly, deflecting the flying sword with his own blade. Swords were not good throwing weapons to begin with - they were not made for it, pure and simple. Darcmon, unfortunately, simply lacked any other ability to attack from afar. They were far inferior to, say Angemon, or their dark counterparts, and had to rely on their skill with blade. In short, between a darcmon and a devimon, most likely it would be a devimon who'd win. he simply had a waster array of dark abilities to rely upon.
The devimon did not forget about that blade though - darcmon's summon blade at the back was known to most devils, because of their constant feuds. They were expected to be ready against any trick an angel can pull off. Naturally, if you need to know how to kill an angel, ask a devimon. The guy expected her to summon the blade back to stab him as soon as he gets close and whatnot. So be it, the wicked one had a plan on his own about this. But for now, he'd test the angel's skill with blade again, since she was left with only one. And keep the long-range attacks for desert... Flying at her, the devimon launched a quick three-move combo in a form of a triangle, each of the consecutive blows aimed to cut off a limb, or a wing, not aiming at body itself as target. With large overall frames winged digimon had, the angemon would be forced to either evade again, which would be quite hard considering how wide the blade arches were, or block. Either way worked for devimon...
---------
The devimon's minions however, were not doing so good. While one of them, the more cowardly one, dug into sand to feign death, the other one was being royally screwed by the vicious all-terrain-attack-battleshark-unit. His syringe attack failed miserably, and now he was facing a barrage of missiles coming his way. The bat-like devil tried to get away, but he wasn't fast enough to outrun missiles.
- AAAAAH! - he exclaimed a he was caught in explosions, damage dealt forcing him to the ground. His wings were burned, it was very unlikely he'd get off the ground again. So he was forced to fight on the ground, where he was endangered by those ... big ... scary ... teeth and blade fins. Mommy...
- Demidart! - the creature exclaimed in desperation, and threw some more darts at the armored shark, aiming for the eyes or the mouth...

If the devimon thought Ciel's style only worked when she was dual wielding he was dead wrong, she was every bit as capable with a single sword as with both of them, and sometimes wielding a single sword was more effective as her attention wouldn't be split into controlling two swords at the same time and she could put extra strength into her weapon by using it as a two handed sword.
The moment to show her single sword skill arrived when the devimon lunged at her with his weapon, a tree blows sequence of attacks surprisingly fast having into account they were made with a long, and therefore more unwieldy weapon like the zweihander. Their fast with not much strength behind nature were their downfall as Ciel rather than dodging or blocking the strikes, parried them by letting her single sword slide against the sides of the long sword, deflecting their movement away from her vitals and wings, and if she needed extra power to handle the deflecting sequence, she could always change to a two-handed sword stance for optimum results. Joke was on the devimon as the increased length of his sword also made it easier to deflect.
After deflecting the third sword stroke, she called back her second sword, not to impale the devimon from behind as given how he already defeated a darcmon he most likely knew about that trick, but to have more swordsmanship style available for her use. Her attack options might be limited compared with other angel digimon due her lack of more attack skills and absence of the sacred light most of the angels can use, but she compensated for that by having trained herself to have a body efficient in close quarter combat and by having multiple fighting styles, being capable of changing the battle stance for one more fitting depending the circumstance. That was her greatest advantage against other sword users and she was going to use it as much as possible to confuse her opponent. Besides, if things got too hard for her to handle alone, she could always rely in the help of Tylo. She was an honorable warrior, but she also believed that revenge should be delivered no matter the costs.

Tylomon growled with rage as he saw his attack hit the enemy. He was a dino after all, rage and fury were important parts of his nature - when he fought someone he hated, a tornado was less destructive than he would become. And after seeing what these devils did to a poor angel, his heart was filled with righteous fury. This demidevimon, who now looked quite helpless and desperate, would not be forgiven. He would suffer a very painful and horrible death. Tylo would see to that. The attacks with syringes had little to no effect, as he simply inclined his head and the darts ricocheted from his steel helmet.
- Not so much flying away now are we? - the shark sneered before charging at the poor defenseless creature, if such words could be used on a wicked demidevimon, his maw opened in order to swallow the poor rookie as a whole. A gruesome fate indeed...

Well, even if the angel was able to parry his blows, she did not attack herself, possibly being a bit overwhelmed by the devimon's onslaught. the wicked one grinned, she didn't make distance either, and that was precisely what he wanted. He could have continued to cleave at her with his zweihander, but he was no fool either, and knew appearances could be deceiving. He managed to effectively parry so far, she had to be better than that pathetic excuse for a darcmon that lied on the ground in pieces. However, the devimon had more options than just sword play, and he put efficiency in higher regard as well, so ...
He launched an Laser Wing attack at the angel at point-black range. Silently, without announcing in. He was one of those digimon who thought announcing attack was stupid and was giving opponent more time to react. The attack itself was perfect to use against dodgy digimon up close - it fired two wide beams from his wings, and they were as wide as wings themselves. While of average power, the attack was very hard to dodge, because of size of that attack. How would the darcmon fare against that?
-----------
The demidevimon only gulped as he saw that gaping maw coming at him with a speed of 120 mph. At this point he already imagined himself being eaten alive - a horrible fate, cause he had no idea what it was like inside that thing. But when he mentally surrendered to fate, the body was not going to give up yet, as the survival instinct kicked in and the rookie jumped into the air, leaping over the maw and landing on the shark's head. Then, the demidevimon slashed it with his sharp claws, aiming for the eyes...

Her second sword was on its way back to its owner and soon it joined its twin sister to give their user more attack options. No sooner that happened the devimon felt like shooting energy from his wings at point-blank range. In the heat of battle Ciel had forgotten about the devimon while favoring a sword still had the natural abilities of a devimon, so to minimize the damage she had to think fast and do something NOW .... but then she felt something strange, an eerie feeling invaded her body as she remained immobile and received the full blow, dropping like a squatted fly until she hit with her back the dry and dirty ground of the bad lands.
How foolish of her to get distracted in the middle of battle, but it was something that she simply couldn't ignore, she knew well that eerie sensation of before, that only happened when "he" was near, so she stand up again and looked around the area.
"Where are you? show yourself!"
No answers, some might think she went insane for shouting at nothing, and maybe she was a bit crazy, but she knew it, her sworn enemy briefly made himself present in this very region, maybe to ... repeat the events of the past!
Ciel then noticed at her student fighting against some demidevimon near where the fallen darcmon lied and realized how she was letting this tragedy divert her attention from what really mattered: to become strong enough to destroy parallelmon.
Her body was feeling a bit numb and moderately pained by the attack of the devimon, so she had to think a new strategy to use against the devimon. True, swords weren't really good projectiles ... but what about demi darts? She quickly snatches from the ground some of those poisonous darts the midget bats left lying on the ground and decided to keep them just in case a good opportunity to use them arise, then took flight again, this time keeping a good distance from the devimon and flying only a bit above ground level, it would be great if she somehow managed to lure the devil into fighting near the ground, that would reduce the area in which both of them could move and might lead to the creation of new tactics.
