"B-bring doom to us all?"

Even despite she was feeling the warm embrace of her sister's tails, something she loved and made her feel safe, she couldn't help but feel terrified about what could happen to those who defied this "Hypnos" thingy. They were too vague with their description of what that thing was, but it was more than clear for the small child that they were the bad guys and not even her big sis Renee could do anything about her. She saw the youkomon as an invincible digimon, but now realized she wasn't the super heroine of her imagination and instead the fox digimon was simply a digimon as kill-able as any other, a strong one but still capable of being slain in combat.

"B-but if they are so bad, they will continue hurting other digimon. Somebody should stop them!"

Her words showed courage, but her body and facial expression showed fear and weakness. She started to shiver now that she discovered about the menace of Hypnos and feared that they could come and kill her big sister, kill the palmon herself and even that tough looking golemon. The male tamer promised not to attack them, but even if he didn't, nothing stopped them from killing other digimon anyway, the palmon imagined "hypnos" as some sort of super monsters that were neither humans nor digimons who could bend steel with their hands, fly, be super resistant against attacks and ate digimon like the small plant digimon in the breakfast. They simply couldn't be left unchecked, somebody had to do something!

Eventually she calmed down as the human spoke and directly called her for her name and the shivering slowly grew weaker until she was no longer shaking her body of fear. He seemed to be a nice human, and if the palmon could, she would totally help him if she had any strength to face those hypnos baddies, anyone who did bad things to digimon just because they can was obviously evil and had to be punished!

"Yep, my name is Mirei and I'm sure we can become best friends with golemon. If my sister is not enough to defend him from those hypnos baddies, I'm going to help her too even if I have to evolve to do it!"

She feared the physical and mental changes growing up would cause in her body and mind, but she feared even more to see her family and friends die, so if the change helped her to do something good, she would evolve the day she needs of the extra power to help those she loves.

[Observer]

Renee figured her warnings were denied, and that she didn't manage to convince Ryo. She could see it in his eyes, and besides, he gave his agreement much too much fast and easy - he would resign from holding to his word in a heartbeat, just as fast as he gave it away. Typical human behavior - and she had learned much about them from Larry and the books he brought her. Still, Renee knew of more indirect methods of making sure one holds to promises...

- To stop them one would require an army of someones. A few cannot hope to triumph against a legion that they are... So we will not fight them Mirei, we will hide, and if discovered - we will run. Actively resisting may save digimon for one day, but will bring greater darkness upon tomorrow... - she sighed out heavily. If hypnos were to discover some digimon groups were actually fighting back - retaliation would be ten-fold. She knew this.

- But we are safe here. Hypnos only lurks within the city - there whenever a digimon is spawned, in a few minutes it is surrounded by soldiers with guns. Here I have seen many digimon appear, and not a single black van came around. Not once. This are apparently does not interest them... - she explained to the boy, before looking at the golemon attentively. He looked confused, and indeed, did not look that vicious. He was lost, and helpless like a child, even if his strength was overwhelming. Without guidance, he'd surely get into trouble.

- I will look after him, and for anyone else you and your friends might find. Bring them here, and we will provide shelter...

- You will? Golemon be good... Golemon not cause trouble. Black helmets not find golemon. Ryo said black helmets kill digimon. - indeed, he sounded just like a big baby, he could barely even talk.

- Good to hear. Follow us golemon, we will lead you to where our shelter is... - Renee made a sign to follow, and turned around, going back into the forest. On her way, she stopped, turning back for the last time to say a few words:

- And make your visits here as scarce as possible. THEY may be watching... - she said and continued her way, to disappear into the darkness of the forest...

[Ryo]

Ryo watched as the digimon spoke she did make sense with things as even he could see a small group would be a losing battle. One that they would need more numbers if they even wanted to stand a chance. Taking a breath he calmed himself and nodded at the thought of others being brought there. It made sense the more and more he thought of it but he would not admit it. He just gave her a nod and paused “bye Golemon good luck big guy” he said softly. He paused as he patted him on the arm and looked at the Palmon. She had a sweet personality and he hoped she would be okay in the long run.

Walking over he knelt down to her and paused “Mirei you’re a good friend” he said quietly and smiled lightly “just remember something important Renee is going to need you as much as you need her even if she does not show it” he said and smiled at the little one. He hoped she would understand what he meant by that in the end because it cold be complicated at times “even if you don’t evolve there are something’s I am sure your friendship will be more then enough for her…take care” he said and slowly stood up. He paused and nodded at the comment Renee made about being around scarcely and turned “good luck Renee” he said and walked away with Monodramon after taking back his cards and D arc from the dragon digimon. He hated to admit it but now he was more confused then when he had walked in.

"Wow sister, you know a lot about that hypnos thingy, I bet you fought a lot against those evildoers!"

She was scared about this "hypnos" thing, but somehow knowing that her big sis knew quite a lot about them was reassuring. If she thought that hiding was the best to do in this situation, she had to be right, because she is smart and the palmon was sure she had a super duper awesome plan to beat them to pulp later.

"Yay, Mirei is a good kid, I'm going to do a lot of good things to help big sister and golemon!"

The tamer said some nice things about the plant digimon, he really liked her ... maybe a little too much, but that didn't matter for her, she liked to receive praise and his words made her feel ... important and better.

Then, her sister decided to take with her the golemon and retreated into the forest, giving the tamer a final gaze and a warning before departing. Alas, she totally forgot that she was leaving the little palmon behind, and Mirei comically ran after Renee

"Nuuu, don't leave me behind sister, you are so mean right now!"

Those were her final words as she disappeared into the forest along her sister and her new friend golemon. That day was rather special in her life because she learned about a tamer that was more important than she thought and about this terrible digimon slaying monster known as hypnos, eventually she would have to face them, but until that day arrived she spent most of her time simply having as much fun as possible
