It took about two hours for a Hypnos agent to reach the location TACCOM designated. The slums weren't a happy place - they were home to shadier types of characters, ones that would like to have a go on your wallet - one must always be on guard when entering such a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
They have stopped in front of an abandoned hotel. It was a rather tall building, and was well-build, but it never had success, being situated in a place where no sane tourist would ever go. The place went bankrupt, and the owners simulated a conflagration to get some money off the insurance. Ever since the place was abandoned, looking at the world with it's dark eye-holes that were once windows. For some unknown reason, the locals didn't occupy the place, and several legends were told that it's "haunted". They didn't know the truth...
- Well, this is the place ... sort of. - Larry said, nodding in general direction of the building, which looked creepy even in broad daylight. There was nobody around, besides they young man, or, at least, so it seemed. The next moment a shadowy creature reappeared at his side without any sound at all. Larry didn't get scared - he knew who it was...
- Hmm... I sense many a digimon in this place... Good, good. - a soft voice with a pinch of poison to it was heard, and the silver renamon made a few steps forward, eyes narrowing as she focused on the building. Larry frowned a bit when he heard that.
- How many, exactly? - he sounded concerned enough.
- I do not know, ten. Maybe more. I wonder what such a bunch of digimon could be doing around here though... Digimon rarely assemble into groups... - the renamon replied thoughtfully.
- Ten?! Holy crap, that's, like, a platoon! I need to inform TACCOM... - Larry exclaimed, attempting to call Hypnos feverishly. Renee stopped him with a jest and a few words:
- Why in such a haste, Laurence? Let's explore this place for a little bit, maybe we'll find out more about it... Then we would have so facts to tell to that TACCOM... - she said solemnly, making a few steps closer to her tamer, completely disrespecting personal space. Larry shuttered when she called him by full name, it sounded creepy, and made a step away.
- Well, I am not going out there, if it is ambush - you will be able to escape, but I - not.
- Oh, but there is no need for you to go, Master. I could go alone, just see what is going on there and back... - Renee replied with a bit of mischief in her voice. Larry raised an eyebrow, but then narrowed his eyes in suspicion. His silent question was obvious.
- Please, Master, did I ever let you down? I will be peaceful as an angel...
- Why do I get the feeling you're lying, Renee? Alright, you can go, but be careful. Act like a lone digimon or something, maybe they will think you're one of their own. Try digging some info. Oh, and ... be careful, no matter what you think of yourself, you can't take on 10 opponents at once. And I don't want to lose you. - the last phrase had a significant impact - Renee's eyes widened for a bit, and mouth remained opened for a second.
- I will... - she replied in a bit of confusion, before making her way to the building, while her tamer remained watching from afar. The dark doorway was reached rather soon, and, after checking no one would jump her, Renee went inside...

"An intruuuder, an intruuuder"
Out of the blue a numemon jumped in front of the silver renamon, and jumped erratically as it menaced with attacking using a powerful and smelly ice-cream shaped poop.
"Stop it, it isn't an intruder"
A second numemon arrived at the scene before something that could be lamented by both sides could happen, this one wore a shell on his back, a clear sign of him being of the shell numemon variety, and a ribbon.
"Miss client, please excuse the manners of my cousin, he is not good handling the clients, and neither is a good guard"
The shell numemon told the silver colored renamon that usually they had a nanimon as guard, but he was currently sick and had to use replace him with his not-so-bright cousin. He also pointed at one corridor that led to the once used by humans bar of the abandoned hotel, a testament of the digimon's perseverance and survival instinct for they found a way to live in this unknown world
"Miss client, is this your first time in the real world? we have a fine variety of helping manuals for digimon stranded in this land of humans, and you can ask about additional information to a wizardmon within the bar, he likes to help."
He then started to move towards the proper bar area of the hotel and told the renamon to follow him.
"Oh, and please behave correctly inside, our clients tend to be overstressed due the hardships we endure in this world, and provoking them would be unwise"

Renee was not afraid of the guard nanimon, not one bit. If anything, he looked silly rather than threatening. She didn't need to talk to him anyway, the barkeeper proved to be a much nicer guy though. Upon hearing the question about her first time being here, a plan was born in the cunning renamon's head. The nanimon, without knowing it, gave a perfect idea for cover.
- Yes, kind sir, first time... I've been here only for a few days. A nasty world this is. Humans with guns running around looking for trouble... - Renee quickly adopted a mask of confusion and helplessness - it could have made digimon she was talking to less suspicious, should it be the case. And renamon was a good actress, if anything. Thanking the barkeep nanimon once again, she looked over the general populace of this pub. Most were scum though, as usual, though there were a few interesting people. One of them was the mentioned wizardmon - he was sitting in the darker corner of the room, with his hat hiding his eyes - the digimon was either sleeping, on resting it's eyes. Just the one Renee was looking for.
Approaching the table he sat at, Renee stopped for a second, making sure the wizardmon saw her coming, and inclined her head a bit in a sign of respect. - Excuse me sir, if I may... - she said, and took a sit opposite to him.
- Numemon said you help out newbies like myself with information. I'd like to ask a few questions, if you can spare any time that is...

"A newcomer?"
The wizardmon pushed his hat back to usual position and looked at the newcomer: an oddly colored renamon that clearly wasn't of the usual type.
"Are you really a normal renamon?"
The wizardmon was suspicious about this renamon, there was something strange not only in her unusual color but also in her story, her eyes showed cunning intellect no newbie could have and she had the looks of a digimon who had her fair share of experiences. Fooling a wizardmon was a hard thing to do for their were of keen senses and intelligence surpassed by few digimon.
"You don't look like a newbie but I will help anyway, that's my personal duty, so ask anything you want to know"
He looked right into the renamon's eyes and waited for her questions.

Renee's eyes narrowed when she heard the wizardmon's remark about her "weirdness". No doubt he remarked the color, but still it sounded offensive. Why wouldn't she be normal? She had two arms and legs, a head and a tail, just like any other renamon, and she considered asking such blatant questions just rude, at least, in the form the wizardmon put it.
- Do I look like a handicap? - she replied with a question of her own, making it visible that any other attempts of mocking her color would be frowned upon. Greatly. It took a second to regain normal, calm composure though. Getting angry too early wouldn't have helped, and Larry was counting on her - she gave a word she would be careful. Renee planned on holding that word.
The wizardmon, unlike numemon, didn't seem to buy that helplessness shtick Renee planned to use, but she considered to keep doing it anyways - when you lie and someone heavily suspects you do - never turn back, because that would mean you lost the game, while in continuity you still have the element of doubt.
- I am a newbie ... here, that is. Been around for a few days, and had my share of encounters... Humans with guns appeared soon after I ... teleported here, started shooting. I managed to escape, and went into hiding ever since... - Renee sighed out. Her descriptions of the "hunt" were pretty accurate, since she knew exactly how those were carried out, perhaps adding credibility to her story.
- ... Other digimon rarely expect our kind to actually run into trouble, thinking we're always in control, and yet here I am, completely lost... - the renamon continued, and looked over at the rest of the inhabitants, who were minding their own business, before returning to wizardmon, facing his glare. Her mind was walled, and her eyes were like mirrors - they didn't show what was behind them, simply returned the glare of a person looking into them back.
- I don't suppose you know how to get out of this world, otherwise you people wouldn't have been here... But perhaps you might tell me how I ended up here. I failed to come up with a decent explanation on my own... Just curious...

"Pardon for my rudeness, it's just that I had no information regarding renamon of your peculiar color"
The wizardmon excused himself for what the silver renamon considered an insult but still remained suspicious about the vulpine digimon. Many digimon had variations, but renamon wasn't one of them; Such digimon was either a new species or something else ...
"An escape from this world ... I'm afraid that neither I nor any other digimon in this area knows how to return; apparently the phenomena that brings us here works only in one way and so far none has found a method to return to the digital world"
As he spoke he continued staring at the silver renamon's eyes. Alas, they no longer showed neither emotion nor the soul of the digimon, they were nothing but mirrors showing back wizardmon's reflection. She was truly a very suspicious digimon, capable of concealing even the very essence of her soul.
"Any more questions?"

- Color remains a color. It does not change anything, simply makes me look a bit different. But I find it unsettling that everybody thinks I'm sick or something... Apology accepted anyway... - Renee said the last sentence quietly, and closed her eyes. The wizardmon was staring into them for too long anyway. What he wished to see there anyway?
- So you don't know how to get out of here, or how did we get in... Pity... - she said, looking away. There were some other questions she would like to have answers for, but she was supposed to be subtle about them. She did not want to get the wizardmon even more suspicious - that guy was going to drill a hole through her with that stare.
- And I'd rather not leave this place, until I have at least a vivid picture of what is going on... Tell me, are there any places where digimon could find shelter besides this ... lovely establishment? - she said the last line with a bit of a sarcasm, though the digimon trapped in this world didn't have much options to choose from.
- And ... excuse me, but ... why are you staring at me like that? Is there something wrong? - Renee asked, figuring she had just about enough of this weird staring contest...

"Again, pardon me, it's an old habit of mine which I cannot fully abandon"
He was used to his "clients" eventually asking to not be started at and by the time it happened he already gathered his payment in the form of personal information. Alas, he earned little information about this silver renamon. She surely was trained to avoid having her emotions and experiences read by people capable of reading the eyes of other people.
"As for your request for better shelter for your fatigued self, I'm afraid to say that this abandoned building is the only safe haven for us stranded digimon, although those digimon who made alliance with humans run with better luck than ours and can find shelter within the property of their partners"
Knowledge about human partnered digimon was no secret for digimon stranded in the human world, and even many in the digital world already knew about them. Even since the first time digimon started to appear in this world they knew about the legendary humans tamers, capable of granting digimon more power than they could achieve naturally and do it fast.
"So unless you find a human partner or create your own home in locations void of human life, I'm afraid that this place is all we have"

The Wizardmon was slowly giving her the information Renee wished to acquire. The question about other places was asked to find out if there are any other hideouts in the area. Apparently, this was the only one, which was good - if there were several, which slipped through Hypnos' surveillance, it would have been alarming. The digimon she was talking to also pointed out that the digimon, who ended up here are just stranded, and did not come here by their own will.
This fact was strange, considering that many digimon Hypnos and the army encountered were more than willing to engage in combat rather than flee, as if they had come here for a purpose. Renee wished to find out if that rumor actually had some platform to be based on, so she might just ask away, but before that...
- Tch, humans. They shoot at me, and you expect to ally myself to them? Hnh, I'd rather not. - she lied without even blinking, expressing disdain at the prospect. If Larry could have seen her now, he would have been proud.
- Well, thank you for your time. I see you deal in information, perhaps there is something I could tell you in return... I heard a rumor about several powerful digimon, coming into this world on purpose. Not by chance, like the rest of us, but with a goal of some sort. Did you hear anything about that? - it sounded like she wanted to tell something important, but, in truth, by telling that she just wished to hear the reply, and figure, if the Wizardmon knows anything...

"That is quite a feasible possibility"
The wizardmon neither denied nor confirmed the possibility of some digimon willingly coming to the human world. Of course that some willingly came, it was rumored that some could somehow contact humans with the potential of becoming digimon tamers and travel to the human world, although the means used for that kind of travel was unknown and it was information irrelevant with the current topic
"As you should know already, two years ago was when we started to appear in this world, if that strange incident was caused by a digimon, it's highly probably that whoever caused our summoning to this world either by accident or purposely can willingly go back and forth between worlds"
At least that was his theory for it was the one that made the most sense. The other alternative was that humans were behind the digimon summoning, but if that were the case they wouldn't attack the newcomers and instead would be receiving them and he didn't have any other clues about this issue.
"Of course, this is just a theory of mine, not a fact. Even a information broker like me knows not the truth about the relationship between our world and the one of the humans"
