Ahh the slums... You can never forget that smell of stench and decay of desperate living. Half-ruined stores, shady alley ways and even more shadier types occupying them, abandoned ware-houses, homes, stopped mid-construction, dumps, all the niceties of being at the very bottom of the society...
Naturally, this lovely place granted a lot of possibilities of hiding for those who needed it. And there was a certain somebody who sought refuge in one of the half-constructed motels - one of the many projects started, but never finished. And that someone was ... not a human. A digimon, sort of...
Myotismon rested himself, sitting on the cold concrete floor, and leaning to the wall, weary of the light coming from holes and window openings - he found himself the darkest corner possible - his powers were threatened by light, and right now he needed every last drop of it.
Come to the new world, he thought, nobody could ever oppose you - there was a bitter irony in these thoughts. He thought humans were defenseless, and their world would be a delightful place to live in for the likes of him, so he was glad to go by when the opportunity came. He did not expect the welcoming committee though - "weak" humans welcomed him alright, with blazing gun barrels.
And now he was hiding from them, more than a dozen bullet-holes was in his body, and those hurt like hell, and hindered any kind of regeneration - the metal in the wounds disrupted it. To think that he, lord Myotismon, was reduced to such a wreck by these ... insolent humans. This was aggravating.
- Curses... - the vampire digimon hissed in anger as he tried to get one of the bullets out of the wound, but to no avail - this needed surgical instruments, not claws like his, so he failed miserably, only made it hurt more. His stomach grumbled - the digimon did not eat anything in a long while...

"Finally, a decent cooking knife... Can't wait to test it out.", Chi said with a cig on the corner of his mouth as he walked calmly through the streets, the sun shinning brightly above and doing the thing that Chi disliked the most, making his head really hot. His jet-black hair almost seemed to shine as the rays hit it. Today was grocery day and Chi needed to restock the half-empty pantry and fridge with the necessary food groups, though with a few sweets to indulge the sudden sweet tooth that would usually hit Takeshi and himself a few times during the day. Meat, pasta, several vegetables and fruits, spices, all were present in the two paper-bags Chi was holding on his arms, though what Chi wanted to test as soon as he got home was waiting between the branches of garlic and the meat. A shining, brand new cooking knife made out of tempered steel and just waiting to chop off some vegetables. Sure it was more then a pretty penny, but it was really worth it and Takeshi said he could so why wouldn't he?
Before he knew it, Chi was already crossing the slums; the fastest way to get to Takeshi's was through that dark place, which even in broad daylight was much darker then other places around town. Chi stepped into the shadows of the buildings, relieved that his head would finally cool down now, when he remembered something really important... He sighed slightly as he remembered he still had to stop by his "hideout" and get his pocket watch back. Last time he had been there, he completely forgot about it. Takeshi would so kill him if he lost it, given that it was a gift he got from Chi's father, which he had passed down to Chi when he turned sixteen a few months ago. "Humm... How do I get there again?...", Chi asked himself as he reached an intersection among the builds, pondering a bit before taking the alley to the left, hoping he hadn't picked the longest road there.
A few minutes later, Chi stood in front of an abandoned and half-constructed motel, the huge doors greeting him with a screech as he opened them and made his way in. The place was as wrecked as could be. Shredded furniture, loose boards everywhere, spider-webs all around and hanging from the ceiling, broken doors and all of that which was perfect if someone was making some sort of haunted house. Most would get a shiver running down their spine as they entered that forsaken motel, but not Chi. He calmly placed the bags on top of one shredded couch and looked around with his calm smile before he said to himself with a smirk, "Shame I can't make Takeshi's house look like this...", he then walked to the center of the room, his eyes looking around for any sign of his pocket watch.

Hours went by slowly, very slowly... One might think a whole eternity went by, while in reality it's been only a few hours... Or it seemed that way, tis what you get for staring on the clock all the time, counting each second. Some consider it a torture, mostly scholars though. Myotismon kinda thought it to be this way, but he didn't manage to get his eyes away from the shiny pocket watch he found during his time here. He tyried finding something to get the damn bullets out, and accidentally stumbled upon this.
- You were not left there by chance, were you? - the vampire digimon was talking to the shiny pretty object he held in his hand, in a sort of a deductive effort. Oh, he was good in deduction, very good indeed. Comes with being a manipulative bastard. - A human must have hidden you here, for all the good it would do. And if that is the case, he would come back for you, right? You would like to return into your master's possession, wouldn't you? Heh... - he snorted a bit. So, whoever hid this object would surely come back for it, and then ... well, what will happen, would depend on how hungry myotismon will get by that time...
He did not wait for too long though. Soon foreign sounds echoed through the empty and abandoned corridors. The human was not too careful to make his approach unheard - Myotismon could have heard his coming a mile away. The vampire leaned to the wall, moving without making as much as a sound, his eyes focusing on the intruder. Yes, it was the owner of the expensive watch alright. Some kid, nothing special. He seemed to be looking for the watch. A creepy grin appeared on the digimon's face.
- Looking for this? - his voice sounded poisony sweet, as he swirled the silvery watch in his hand...

The boy's violet eyes scanned the tarnished room in search for even the slightest glimpse of the silvery watch, hoping he could find it in one piece. No one came to that godforsaken place; it had no lighting, no running water, it was literally falling apart and the large amount of spiders and rats was enough to creep anyone out, so the watch was probably safe and the only thing Chi had to do was find out where he left it. The boy lifted a floorboard from a pile of them, looking between them the only thing he saw a a small group of spiders that swiftly scattered around, either hiding among the other floorboards or just creeping down the holes on the floor. Chi sighed again, letting go of the board that collapsed onto the floor, the sound echoing throughout the corridors.
Chi calmly turned around as he heard a sinister voice, puffing a bit of smoke from the side of his mouth as he turned to face the "intruder". He was slightly surprised at the fact that that place wasn't empty as he thought, but the boy did not show the slightest hint of surprise, only looked at the dark figure hidden among the shadows that was swirling his watch and said, "Yes I am.". Simple answer, not much to get out of it. Chi squinted his eyes a bit in hope he could see who had his watch, though to no avail seeing that the guy blended within in shadow so well. Chi took a few steps forward, not getting too far from the grocery bags and the very sharp knife that awaited his grip should he require its use to defend himself from the possible threat, his eyes locked on the pocket watch. "Can I have it back please? I'm kind of in a hurry.", the boy said with that usual calm expression, tone and smile on his face, hoping he didn't have to take it by force. Chi really wished the guy would give it to him, because from the looks of it, the guy was taller then he was and given the lack of lighting in the room, he could be carrying a gun or something and Chi wouldn't know so he was really in a dangerous situation. But should it come to it, the door was open and Chi was a good runner. But maybe the guy wasn't so bad and would actually give it back to him, so he could go back home?

Myotismon was a bit surprised by the human's reaction - he did not look to be startled at all - which was strange. Anybody he met so far usually jumped at his presence, this one almost looked like he was expecting him to show up. Almost. Probably just playing a cool guy, but the vampire had to admit he was good at playing it. Still, not that it mattered. The digimon had little to no interest in the human anyhow, only in that which he could do for him. And that was not too much.
- I don't think so. I took great fondness of the object myself, and I am sure it is rather expensive. - he mused thoughtfully, as he tossed the shining silvery object from his one hand to another. No, he wasn't gonna give this back, though he hardly needed the watch himself, and lied about being fond of it. But he could make human bring something to him in exchange for that.
- So ... if you want this back, you'd have to do something for me. Like, for instance, you could bring me something sharp and sterile. Those metal pieces stuck in my body are beginning to annoy me, and I'd have to get them out somehow... - he continue musing. So far no threats were heard, as he did not wish to scare the human way, and this was the reason to stay in the shadows, for now...

After Chi asked for the watch, there were a few seconds of silence before the guy replied to his request, which Chi used to try and get the slightest of glimpses of the figure, but to no avail... Though Chi wasn't really worried, not only because he just wasn't the kind of guy to get worked up, but also he figured that if this guy wanted him dead so he could carry on whatever he was doing there, he wouldn't stand there twirling his watch but would either shoot him or do something along the lines of murdering. So that suggested he needed him for something, or he just wanted to screw around with Chi a little... So, which was it? The boy took a drag from his cigarette and let a small cloud of smoke escape his lips, his eyes locked on the figure as he waited for his reply.
When the figure declined his request, Chi scratched the back of his head as he pondered on a way to get that watch from him. By the looks of things, force was really not an option given that the figure was taller then he was and he didn't know Kung Fu, but what to say to the guy? Though he seemed to be rubbing it in, like he was showing off that he found what Chi had been looking for. Perhaps he wanted to bargain the watch for something Chi could provide? Chi grabbed his cig in the middle of his index and middle finger, he was about to propose a deal when coincidentally, the guy took the first step and initiated the bargain for him. Looks like he wasn't that fond of the watch, or he was desperate to get something. Chi, however, cocked his eyebrow and tilted his head slightly as the man asked for something "sharp and sterile" because he had "metal pieces stuck in his body"? This made Chi slightly confused, though it sounded like he was injured. "Something sharp and sterile? So if I get something sharp and sterile for you, you'll hand my watch over?", the boy inquired as he looked at his watch, being held in the hands of that random guy, only then to calmly walk towards the shredded couch and place his hands inside one of the grocery bags. He moved the meat out of the way and grabbed a plastic case, looking through the transparent material, one could see a sharp cooking knife that awaited for someone to use it. The boy then proceeded to take it out of the plastic and said as he twirled it back, catching it by the handle, "Well I got this new cooking knife. It's brand new and was sealed so it can't get any more sterile then it is.". The figure was a long way from Chi, still hidden among the shadows, to get to Chi he would have to step into the light, or rather, the least dark part of that room. He balanced the knife on the palm of his right hand and said with his calm smile and tone, "Quid pro Quo humm? So I'll hand you my knife and you'll give me my watch back? Seems fair enough, here ya go.", the boy continued to look at the guy and waited for him to step out of the shadows and claim the knife.

- Yes, something sharp and sterile. Like a scalpel, or a knife of some sort... Hearing impairment much? - the Myotismon replied lazily, flicking the watch open and close. He didn't really like that he had to reiterate the same thing one more time, but hey, humans were always pretty slow. He figured that the kid could make a way to the store and back and fetch a knife for him, in return for his precious watch. The vampire already got used to its weight by this time, it felt awfully comfortable to have it in his hand.
However, by some lucky coincidence, the kid actually proved to have a knife on him just at the moment. A very happy coincidence indeed - the digimon wouldn't have to wait for his lazy ass to go back and forth - the required item was already here. He smiled, and his white fangs glimmered in a strain ray of light for a second. Now that the knife was here, he didn't really need the kid anymore...
- Oh, how very fortunate of me, you have the item I require already... - he said with an eerie chuckle. The next moment, unnoticeable to the kid however, he send forth one of his ... non-lethal attacks - Nightmare Claw. A black-ghostlike entity, which was perfectly hidden in the darkness, was formed, and silently flied in the shadows, before descending upon the boy, pursuing until made contact, and would paralyze him the next moment it touches. Once this is done, the vampire would finally leave the darkness of the shadow, and step into the dim light, revealing himself at last.
- Why thank you for the knife, dear boy. And, um... I think I'll keep this... - the myotismon obviously enjoyed having fun in lying and whatsoever, deceiving the kid about "giving him back the watch". Yeah right, like, no way. The digimon held the watch in front of the face of the paralyzed human, swinging it back and forth a bit, before putting the silvery watch back into the pocket. - Oh, I just grew so attached to it, I couldn't let go. - he laughed a bit. Yes, he was a greedy bastard too.
- But you've been a good boy, whatever your name is. Bringing the knife here like that. Maybe, as a reward, I will contain the urge to bite you. Maybe... - he said with an air of uncertainty, so that one might never know what would be done later by him, concerning his "prey" would be defenseless on the floor. He turned around, knife in hand, and went towards the torn couch. In the dim light it was possible to see many holes on his clothing, made by bullets, and as well, as several bloodstains.
- Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to bring myself back to shape.... - he said, sitting upon a couch, preparing to extract the first bullet from his wound. Without painkillers or anything. The next moment, a low groan was heard...

Though he maintained calm and with his usual expression, Chi almost smirked when he replied to him. A bit of a prick wasn't he? "No not really I can hear just fine.", he said as he placed his pinky inside his ear and gently twisted his hand a few times, as if he was delaying a bit just to teach him the importance of manners and patience. He didn't rub it in though that would be just stupid because he could smash the watch in pieces should Chi press his luck. That silvery, if not made of silver, pocket watch meant a great deal to Takeshi and it was probably due to the fact that it once belonged to his father. The two had been childhood friends and it probably had some meaning behind it all, but in all honesty, Chi didn't feel like it was anything special. Maybe it was because of the man's absence in his life, but even with the frequent visits to jail, Chi would only look at the man behind the glass as if he was an acquaintance and not his father. Feelings of love towards him were none-existent despite the man saying he loved Chi very much so a simple watch wasn't worth so much trouble. Though the lecture he'd hear as soon as he arrived home without it would probably knock him dead and he so wasn't in the mood for it.
When the man caught a glimpse of the knife, Chi noticed a bright and white glimpse from between the shadows. First thing that popped to his mind was the question of "what was that?", but the man distracted him from his thought as he seemed pleased with the fact that he didn't have to wait for the knife. As Chi balanced it on the palm of his hand, he was about to nod that he in fact had the knife, but suddenly something caught his attention and made him grip the knife and assume a more rigid stance, a darker shadow that raced from the darkness and descended upon him. Before he could do anything other then grip the cig with his teeth and assume that stance, he felt a cold touch that seemed to have paralyzed him. The boy attempted to move but to no avail, he was completely paralyzed, his body not responding to him as though it wasn't his as it came tumbling down onto the floor. His face and eyes however were still "working" so he gazed upon the dark figure, surprisingly enough maintaining his calm expression, only then to finally see what the guy looked like. Much to his surprise, the guy greatly resembled a Digimon card he had. Though why couldn't Chi move? He wasn't ill was he? No he wasn't, Takeshi always made him go to the doctor once a month to check if he was in perfect health and the last time the doc said he was better then OK so that wasn't it. Can he really be?... No impossible... But he looks exactly like him and that thing he used to paralyze me... So they are real? Digimon are real?, Chi pondered as the vampire swinged his watch back and forth, his eyes locked on the Digimon and completely ignoring the watch, his face not showing anything but the calmness he felt, despite being actually surprised at this. So they were real... And they seemed to be able to pull off the exact same attacks as in the cards. If Takeshi was there, he would've probably freaked out and ran like a little girl, despite the fact that he also enjoyed playing Digimon Cards as much as Chi did.
Chi completely ignored the Digimon as he talked, pondering if this was some kind of dream or something and when he was done talking, Chi finally spoke, even though he was just locked in that position and just standing there, "Humm... Whaddya know... Digimons are real. Shame I didn't bring my deck along, I would've showed you how you look in card form Myotismon. Sucks they don't tell me how to get out of your attack though.", he smiled calmly as he looked down on his paralyzed body for a few seconds before gazing back to the Digimon. It was then that he had noticed several holes on him, probably made by bullets. Looks like he pissed off the wrong kind of people and it didn't surprise Chi much, after all, he was one smug and arrogant prick so he probably got what he deserved. "Looks like you got one hell of a welcoming to our world. What did you go up against? The army? I guess you guys can't use cards on yourselves, otherwise you would've popped in a Teleport or a Wizardmon's Spell or something of the sort.", he said as he looked up at the ceiling, watching the chandelier hanging from it all covered in thick spider-webs. He had lost track of things though. Myotismon wasn't just a Digimon, he was a Virus type and a vampire so who knew what he would do to him? Though Chi remembered something he read on Myotismon's bio, something that could save his ass on this one... But what was it again?...

- Were I you, I would have been keeping quiet and pray to whatever God you worship to spare your life, instead of trying to anger the one who could kill you in a heart-beat. I guess you weren't blessed with brains either. The only thing nature blessed you with seems to be your apathy to obvious threads. Hnh, you're not afraid to die so young, are you, human? - the Myotismon said with a chuckle, before continuing to carve the deformed bullets out of his own flesh.
- And no card will tell you how to get out of my attack, for there is no way out. Your nervous system is paralyzed, and it won't be too soon until it is returned to normal. Struggle if you will, but in vain. I don't mind your struggling, really, it is very amusing to see someone think he can actually escape. - he laughed again in a sadistic manner. Maybe he should ... torture the human a bit after he's done with those bullets? Humans pissed him quite a bit with their attacks, and this was such a great way of coming back at them, plus, there was no one around to stop him...
- Tell me, boy... What do you fear the most? - the vampire asked, touching the pointy edge of the knife with the other finger as he approached. A malicious grin was on his face. - I caused the demise of many, and each I asked the same question. I have quite a collection of various fears by now. Some casual, some quite exotic. What is yours, deary? Maybe you'd manage to surprise me?

When Myotismon replied to him, the boy just stood there, his eyes looking down to gaze at the Digimon as he talked and carved the bullets out of his body. He then looked up at the ceiling, once again marveling the old yet amazing chandelier, thinking it would look so epic on his room, if it was smaller though given the immense size of that thing. The boy let out a brief chuckle and replied to the vampire, "Me "worshiping a God"? I'll pass on that one.", he then looked back at Myotismon and continued, "No, luckily for me I was blessed with a decent brain. Don't think I don't know that you can kill me "in a heart-beat" like you said, because I sure as hell know what a Ultimate like yourself can do. It's just that there's little point of worrying myself about the inevitable should it come. And no I'm not afraid of dying young.", he maintained that calm smile as he talked, not showing anything but the utmost calmness. He spoke the truth, the boy wasn't afraid of dying and to be honest; he wasn't afraid of almost anything given his apathetic personality. There was one thing, though it wasn't really fear, at least not what most people would qualify as fear.
"Humm... That makes sense. Thanks for the heads up, I was trying to move my hand a bit so I could take off my cigarette seeing that the ash is kind of entering my nostrils...", he said as he exhaled air from his nose, a very small cloud of ash rising up and quickly fading away. The cig was almost all down to the filter. The boy attempted to move one last time, only able to twitch his pinky a bit, which was a slight sign of improvement, even though he still had a very long way to go before he got full control of his body, but he was pleased that that attack wore off eventually, because he would hate to just stand there until he finally died of starvation or dehydration.
The vampire seemed to take a liking of torturing people, given that he had such as sadistic grin as he touched Chi's brand new cooking knife, which was now stained with that Digimon's blood, and questioned what he feared the most. Chi looked up and pondered for a bit, only then to look back at the digimon and replied, that calm smile yet again present at all times, "Hummm.... Sorry to disappoint you, but it looks like you won't be adding any fears to your collection. Not from me at least. Apathetic, remember? Most things just don't cause much of an impression, good or bad, on me so... But I gotta be honest, I was surprised to see that Digimons were real. There are more Digimons right? It's not like you're all Myotismons? 'Cause I gotta say, that would be pretty boring and I actually favored your card, so...". The knife did not bother Chi the slightest, though should the Digimon stabbed him or something, it would sure as hell hurt. He hoped he didn't kill him, because he wouldn't mind asking a few questions regarding where he came from and how he was there in the flesh and quite a few more.
