Kyle chucked his schoolbag onto the sofa and completely disregarded it as he went to the fridge - he hated mandatory P.E. No that he wasn't OK with doing sports (some of them) but he hated being forced into doing the during school - he detests football. He grabbed a jar and a bottle and headed for the breadbin, making himself two rounds of once of his concoctions - a beetroot and salad cream sandwich. Tastes so good and grosses out others. Win win.
He flopped down onto the sofa, beside his bag, and flicked on the tele - some background noise while he ate. Daytime TV wasn't usually good at all, unless you're a desperate housewife. It's Sky were all the real fun lies. On his penultimate bite it happened. One of those moments were you see the car crash waiting to happen but are unable to stop it - beetroot onto sofa. Gulp.
He wiped at it with a hanerchief, but the stain was there to stay...so he moved a pillow over it and continued on his way - nothing he could do about it now.
His room was his next destination. TV was crap, but the internet won't be. That and...homework. Que the sigh. School was OK, while he was there, but homework...he's just out of the place and they demand more work be done. Sadists.
He spend a good hour doing his biology assignment, then another half and hour or so just browsing and reading. While the internet is awesome and all that he just wasn't feeling it tonight, so he grabbed his jacket and shut down his computer.
As he walked out the door he was oblivious to the glow that came out of his computer monitor, and the figure that seemed to emerge from the light itself. Nor did he see the orb of light that flew out of his bedroom and strike his hip, coalescing into a...purple device and a belt pouch...

Unbeknown to the child on Earth, who was simply sitting at his computer doing stuff, in the parallel world known as Digital to a few humans that were entrusted the secret to, there was a terrible battle going on in the skies above the digital landscape. The force of good, against the force of evil. In that fateful clash of the two opposing forces, there could be only one survivor. But who'd be that survivor would be anyone's guess...
Lucemon entangled himself in a fight with a very dangerous, and a very deadly opponent. Devimon was both faster, stronger, and more cunning than the holy rookie digimon, and it showed - despite the fighting was fierce, the demon of darkness still had a lot of fight left in him, while the angel ... not so much. His body was torn by those horrible, jagged claws, and wings were dipped in his own ... blood? Or what was it? In any case, it was red. And the demon was not through with him just yet...
- You're through! - the devimon roared and made another slash across the poor lucemon's body, sending him falling from skies into the ground, wishing the angel to break his neck and ribs upon fall. It was just then, when a strange anomaly appeared, swallowing the powerless digimon, sucking him inside as a mini black hole. The devimon glared at the anomaly in amazement for a few seconds, before his heart was replenished with hate once more.
- Your wizardry won't save you from my wrath, angel! - he screamed in furious dark rage, and dived into the anomaly himself wishing to reap the life of the winged manifestation of light once and for all of the eternity, as angels and demons were mortal rivals, and no prisoners were ever taken in the digital world...
... The screen of the computer flickered once more, before an image of ... something appeared, getting closer. Then ... the anomaly opened it's "mouth into the room, through the screen, and spitted out the bloodied corpse of lucemon inside. he was barely breathing, but still alive. He tried to stand back on his feet, but failed and collapsed unto the ground. He felt his demise was coming soon, as he could feel the presence of his wicked adversary closer and closer. Then ... he saw someone else in the room. The vision was blurry, and he couldn't make out who it was. But still, he had to warn the person of the danger that was coming...
- Run... before ... he comes for me... - the angel moaned as he rose on his hands from the ground, and the next moment a dreadful black claw emerged fro the screen, grappling everything insight, crushing it. Devimon was about to emerge from the anomaly as well...

Just as Kyle was about to open the door and depart from his house he heard a noise. Coming from his bedroom. It...sounded like something heavy, but soft, landing on his floor. Burglar? It couldn't be - he lived on the first floor and there wasn't any trees to climb on. Just incase, he shed his jacket - it would weigh him down in a fight - his hand glancing across something on his hip. He looked down to see some sort of purple device attached to his hip...it kind of looked like a glorified pedometer...and a pouch attached to his belt, that he definitely didn't remember being there earlier. Ok...
He put those thoughts aside and headed towards his room, stopping for a second when he saw some light streaming out from underneath his door. Surely too bright to be torches...? He ran back and grabbed one of the kitchen chairs, quickly carrying it back to his room and kicking the door open, brandishing the chair in the air, ready to bring it down on the head of anyone in there. Instead of a man/men in his room, brandishing torches and whatnot he saw a young boy...with wings... Surely he was dreaming all this - he must have fallen asleep while reading Maximum Ride or something and now he was having related dreams.
Run... before ... he comes for me...
He slowly brought the chair down and dropped it outside his bedroom, taking slow steps into the room. His eyes didn't miss the wounds - scratches? slashes? - on the kids(?), things(?), body. Even the wings looked like they hadn't escaped whatever carnage had been wrought on the creature. Kyle had closed half the distance between them before his body jolted and knocked him back on his ass - a reflex against the large black claw thing that had just emerged from his bloody computer screen!
He took a short second to take stock - there was what looked like an angel lying on his floor, greatly injured, and a large, black, demonic claw attacking his room from his computer screen. First on the agenda - grab the angel, right?
He kept his chest to the ground and slithered along until he could touch the angelic creature, grasping the closest part of the boy - a wrist - and pulled. Hard. Once the teen had a good grip on the angel he dragged him closer to himself - little guy was heavy! Must be the wings - and then spun up onto his knees so he could heave the both of them out his bedroom door. And he almost made it. Just as he pushed against the floor the claw managed to aim true, slashing three gashes into his back as the two of them landed in the doorway - what (seemed) like too far away for the claw to get them.
The pain the teenager felt didn't seem to register as he all bug dragged the angel out of the room completely and pulled the bedroom door closed with a deafeningly loud bang. Then the pain set in and the teenager slid to the ground, his legs giving way under the pain, his breath now coming in harsh gasps as his body began to lose it's adrenaline.

Lucemon was this close to slip into unconsciousness - the damage done to his body was great indeed. As he was half-dazed, and prepared to meet his doom at the hands of the demon, he suddenly felt himself ... dragged away? By whom? Was it that person from before? Why didn't he run? He should run, before the horrible hell-spawn will put his dreadful claws on both of them... His mind kept slipping as he was dragged, and noise of slashing and destruction was heard on the background...
A horrible roar made him go back to this reality for a second, and the angel looked around. The devil roared in the next room, clawing his way out of the portal, and screeching curses and death threats on all that is holy. Then Lucemon felt ... smell of blood. Not his, but the strange person's that dragged him away and saved him, even for a short while. The person looked hurt, and was about to lose footing. - I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU! - another roar came out of the room, and the angel figured he must act fast...
- Father, help me in my time of need... - Lucemon made a quick prayer, and gathered all of his remaining strength to pick up the person, and levitate in the air, slamming through the window outside... The next moment after they were out, the sound of the door crushed was heard from the house, and another roar of pure hatred. The demon was going to kill everyone and everything he'd come across...
- Just a little further... Hold on... - the angel muttered as he was losing strength, until, finally, he was out - his powers were exhausted, and, powerless, he fell down, in some dirty, dark, and littered backalley, hitting himself against the edges of two small buildings as he fell down, and they both ended up falling unto a pile of garbage, which softened the fall somewhat. They were safe, for now, but above there were sounds of wings flapping, and a low, bloodthirsty growl. The demon was out there ... searching, seeking...

I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU
Kyle jerked away from the door, not wanting to have his back to the demon - and in twisting his body around he lost his balance and went right down on his back - not good! He let out a few choice curse words and torrents of stinging fire raced around his back - at least that's what it felt like. He could already feel some wetness on his t-shirt - he noted lightly that he would have to throw it out - and rolled over, the pain only subsiding marginally.
Before he could get up two small hands grappled him around his torso and then...they were flying! He let out another choice curse word as the ground left him and all he saw was the long drop all the way down to the streets that he was soaring over...even as they steadily lost altitude. ...His parents were gonna kill him - he remembered hearing the sound of a door smashing.
They landed - crash landed? - in a dank alleyway, the garbage breaking their fall, but not by much - the shockwave of the collision did a lot to agitate his already painful wounds, and he looked over to see the young angel in a worse state. He managed to stand, on very wobbly legs, and stutter over towards the angel before collapsing onto his knees beside the boy - his back crying out yet again under the vibration. "Hey...you OK?" Obviously the angel was not but...what else should he say?
His answer wasn't from the boy, but from the air - his human ears could pick up the low hum of wings - actually a lot like it is in the movies - and the vibrations of a low roar. The bloody thing was getting closer! He unceremoniously heaved the angel up and pulled them both into the dank doorway just off to the side - it would only cover them if the demon came at the from a certain angle. With any luck they wouldn't be seen. ...This doesn't feel much like a dream...

- Ghost 5, this is Ghost 13 reporting in, going to intercept an airborne wild one, keep air support ready, in case we will need it. - the radio transmissions willed the air, as three black vans were making their way at full speed to the point of the latest bio-emergence. Somebody had to keep the bloody things under control, and away from general public. And government had just a regiment to deal with such threads, as it did two years ago... But this time, they were much, much stronger. The dark terror on wings didn't even bother hiding, flying around as it saw fit, and was quickly spotted by masked troopers that emerged from the vans...
The air was soon filled with other sounds rather than ominous bat-wing flapping. In a few moments those were replaced by wild roars, shooting, and screams of pain and anguish, as human weaponry met hellish powers of the demon, and another battle raged upon the empty streets of residential district - both sides were equally hateful of each other, and were equally eager to kill one another. The place was becoming a mini-hell real quick...
Meanwhile, Lucemon opened his eyes again, regaining consciousness after that dastardly fall, only to find himself ... being dragged again? Who was that person? Why did he help him and risk his life instead of running away? Tired angel's brain did not find answers. Then a question about his welfare came around. Normally a sarcastic reply would have came out, but now Luce was too weary and hurt for that. - No... I am wounded... Who ... are you? Why did you ... help me? - he managed to say, before both he and the boy hid behind a door of sorts. The angel peeked put from it a bit, to see what was going on...
Meanwhile two troopers passed by the same dark back-alley, on their way to engage with the demonic enemy. They wore black uniforms, faces hidden by visor masks, and they bore guns. Sophisticated looking ones. On their way to the combat zone, suddenly, one of them stopped, turning his obscured face, and looked into the alleyway. The Lucemon hid himself behind the door, frightened.
- Spotted something?
- Negative. Continue movement. - a brief exchange between the troopers went on, as they went where they were going. And soon more shooting started, offset by roars of pain this time made by the demon, who tried escaping miriads of bullets flying at him. The Lucemon was scared a bit, by the strangers, and the noises. He shuttered a bit as he dared to ask: - Who were they ... demons?

No... I am wounded... Who ... are you? Why did you ... help me?
Kyle disregarded the sounds of gunshots - he wasn't that surprised that the government had gotten involved - the demon seemed to have been chasing them, out in the open in broad daylight. Of course if was going to be spotted. "I'm Kyle, and between you - the angel - and that demony thing I went with you - you seemed like the better choice" Half true half sarcastic - using it to mask the feelings of overwhelm and fear that were trying to grasp hold on him and drag him down. The army guys were involved now, they should be able to handle it right?
Speaking of army guys, he heard footsteps outside in the alley just after Lucemon sprang back into the secluded doorwary. Who were they ... demons? "No, they're army guys or something. Sort of...this worlds version of warriors, peace keepers. Shouldn't you know that...being an angel and all...?" Didn't angels see the world from heaven, or see it as they moved among it, if they did move among it...?
As the teenager took another look out in the alleyway, seeing a very faint...glow from the street? What was that? Just then he heard a beeping noise coming from his hip - coming from that purple device thingy that...had appeared? Considering he was here, with an angel, and running from a demon he wasn't too surprised - weirdness is weirdness. He looked down at his hip and grasped the glorified pedometer and held it up to examine it.
Then the strangest thing happened - the screen on it glowed and...a...hologram(!) appeared above it with a picture of a demon - the demon! Devimon...virus...Devimon?! As in...digital monster...? He had seen kids around school playing a card game and this guy sounded like he jumped right from it...like...from his computer...digital...? Do these things live on the net...?
He must be losing his mind. He didn't really care right now actually. He opened the belt pouch and guess what! There were three gold cards in it... Surely this isn't like one of those movies where there's a book or something and it turns out to be real, like The Labyrinth. "Hey..." he said, turned towards the angel, "Do you know what these are? This...says he's a ...digimon?...as in the card game?"

- That ... demony thing ... devimon... Sworn enemy... I fought... I failed... - the angel sighed out in pain as he heard the half of the words the human said, his mind succumbing to pain slowly. He needed a place to rest somewhere, away from the fighting, and screaming, and roaring, and all the deaths... But it was unlikely they'd find such a shelter too soon, so they should be happy with what they had at hand. The battle raged overhead, and it looks like the humans were winning - the roars of the demon were more frequent, and each time there was more and more pain to it...
- The ... army... How am I supposed to... Where am I? What digimon are you? - the angel sighed out, he was to beat up to think properly, surviving battle, teleporting and crash-landing, he was not able to gather his wits together to answer a few questions. He did not know where he was, what were the strange creatures in the masks, and what was gong on. But he did hear that the "army guys" were winning, and prayed for their success...
- Card ... game? What ... card game? I ... my name is ... Lucemon. Luci ... fer...

The poor guy sounded like he was ready to collapse, so Kyle manoeuvred the angel gently so he could lean heavier against the wall of the doorway. They really needed to get out of here - back home would be good, there was a first aid kit there that they both could use right now, and it was sheltered and out of the public eye. But that demon came through his computer - who's to say he won't go back to it. He couldn't know if he army guys were winning or losing.
The ... army... How am I supposed to... Where am I? What digimon are you?
"I'm not a digimon, I'm human. I live in this world, not the...digital one." Right? that was were they come from? He had never really played the card game much, a few years ago he tried it out once or twice but that's it. Now it seemed like that was a stupid decision.
Card ... game? What ... card game? I ... my name is ... Lucemon. Luci ... fer..
"Ahm...yeah. Here digimon is sort of a card game...you battle with them until there's a winner...I had no idea you were all....real..." Wait, Lucemon...Lucifer...huh, maybe the digimon world was closer to his own than he thought - there was definitely a link between Lucemon and the Lucifer from the bible. Hey...
Kyle slowly brought the...degidevice(?) around to point at Lucemon, and like before another holographic screen appeared. Lucemon, Vaccine type Angel digimon, and then some information about his fighting skills. Huh, this little thing packed quite a punch afterall. He noticed there was a small hole along the right side...like a card reader at the shop....but he could delve more into that later "Okay...Luce...how about we slowly get out of here and get back to my place. There's a medical kit there. ...Can you walk or..." He supposed he could carry the small angel - that's another point, how could they get home without being seen. Afterall, the boy had wings!

The shooting seemed to be getting father and farther from the place where Lucemon and the human were hiding, the fighting must have shifted to another area, and the soldiers pursued the fleeing demon relentlessly. Lucemon "felt" what was going on from afar, empathy if you will. Pain, suffering brought upon both humans and the demon, as they were killing each other, until, finally, and explosion was heard, and one last, final roar... Lucemon's eyes open wide when he heard that...
- They did it... They won ... where I have failed. How ... demeaning. Bless ... the army. - the angel digimon sounded a bit disappointed that the mighty demon he fought for so long was destroyed so quickly, only upon arrival to this place. These ... humans, they were strong. Very strong indeed. The angel tried to pick himself up, and sat upon the ground, instead of lying, catching a breath...
- I do not ... understand the card game. I am not a card... I'll .. try to fly... - the digimon said and flapped the wings, attempting to get airborne, but to no avail - to much damage suffered. He failed miserably, and instead tried to get on his feet, and, after a few failed attempts, succeeded. - I'm ... confused. So many questions ... I will try to answer... When I am better... - the angel winced. - Thank you ... for your kindness...
