Ryo could see that she didn’t want to talk about Digimon and it made sense as she had been through a lot. He did not claim to know everything about her but would not push his luck with things right now. It would be nice to start a good friendship and see where things went with her. Resting his hands inside of his pockets he paused debating what to say next. She had said that she was busy with work chances were and he didn’t want her to get into trouble with things. As she had said Digimon were a sore topic in the house and he hoped things would get better for her.
“I was thinking of heading to the park and hang out a bit” he admitted after a few moments.
He had to decide what to do and how to contact the others. He had not been around much in the past two years and hoped he would not be hated. Sometimes he had just not felt like it was his place to be around. The tamers had all been close when he had come into the picture the only one he had known at all was Rika and that was from the card game. Even that had been almost dead to him in the past two years sadly it seemed. Running his hands along his hair and shook his head he would come to that road when he crossed it right now it was useless to drive himself crazy with things he did not know. Already he had issues going on with Hypnos who he was still trying to figure out what they were planning because they did not seem like the nicest people.
“when you have the day off we should hang out sometime” he told her with a smile.
He had always been a bit odd when he came down to Digimon. Having been alone for most of the time he had been a tamer he had never had the easy road. None of them had but when they had a team he was the lone wolf. It had taken time to adjust to being around the others even though he had become close to most. When he had lost Monodramon he had just walked away unsure of how to deal with the loss again but he was slowly becoming more and more open he just hoped that he had not blown it with them all in the end. Pausing he looked at her and smiled.
“mind some company on your walk home?” he offered to her and smiled lightly.

"Um...Sure....I'd like that...."
Jeri wasn't sure how else to answer him. Ryo was her friend right? It wasn't like there was really a problem in him walking her home. Course, they would have to get on a train for a 30 minute ride to her neighborhood. She wondered if it was ok for him to go that far? The girl didn't ask. She just kept her hands in front of her, smiling somewhat as she looked towards him and then towards the side.
"You really sure you want to walk me home? I mean...I live pretty far away. Not to mention that I have to get on a train and then sit there for 30 minutes..."

Ryo listened to her as she spoke and closed his eyes true things were getting hectic again which happened but what they had no idea what was coming. The last one had been the D reaper what could be sent now that would be worse he thought and sighed deep in thought. It was when she said that she had a long train ride he shrugged and gave her a smile. He was just glad to have some more fun with her and maybe talk some more.
“I don’t mind a train ride it can be relaxing” he said his voice soft.
He paused as he rested his hands in his pockets and stared ahead of himself. Golemon was safe but they’re would be others that would need help he thought. It would be bad if they came in like they had before and then they would have to decide what to do with things. It was never easy to take a life but chances were the decisions would be needed to be made in the coming months. Relaxing slowly he watched Gatomon and was curious about something but did not ask.
“it’s a nice day out honestly just glad to be out and about a bit” he admitted.
It also would let him clear his head which was always a plus when it came down to things which helped him at times to stay calm. Things had been hectic and then calm the past two years for most of them he would need to get back into the upside of things and into the cards again. He had used the term the night before of Digimon king out of habit and hoped that it would take place given time. Realizing he had been extremely quiet he blushed slightly before speaking.
“what do you do at your parents restaurant Jeri?” he asked her with a smile.

Jeri blinked as she tilted her head somewhat to the side. Restaurant wasn't really the word she would go with when addressing her family's business. It was simply a bar. Sure there were a lot of travelers and they served small appetizers, but it wasn't a place people came to eat. It was a spot where they came to drink. She worked down in the bar many times, helped out in the kitchen and even fixed some of the small dishes too.
"I serve drinks mostly....Its fun and I get tips!"
Jeri remembered one time she got twenty yen from a customer just for smiling. It was strange, but the girl didn't think it over too much when she held the money in her hand. But she always remembered to be careful and to let her parents held the more...outranks patrons.

Ryo listened to her as she spoke about her families bar and nodded a small place it sounded like she liked the job which was always a plus or at least he guessed so. As he walked he watched Gatomon and gave her a smile. It was nice to see Jeri in such a good mood after how she had been since he had known her. It could be harsh out there and they all had seen what the digital world could spit out the problem was the monsters that the real world would make out and they would have to deal with those alone when it came down to it. Pausing he thought of things and glanced at the sky as the clouds rolled by slowly the fact was that even if ones life seemed to stop the world would pass them by in the end maybe that was why people were told to live life to the fullest…you never knew when yours would stop when the other continued.
“sounds like you enjoy it” he said as he gave her a smile. Tips were always good when you wanted to buy cards and other things which now would become a stronger need then they had in the past.
He had thought of what he would do when he was done being a tamer nothing really had come to mind though as he glanced around him and sighed softly. When he had been little he had wanted to be a digimon champion and had done that but now the challenge was out of it. He paused as he ran his fingers along the deck of cards that he had gotten over the years. He knew the championship was coming up and was debating entering again to see how well he would do in the end. He knew that he was rusty but it could never hurt then the idea hit him a small smile coming across his face.
“you know the digimon card tournament is starting up soon Jeri maybe we could all enter and have a blast” he admitted. He had no idea what the others were skill wise but they would all be able to get together hopefully for the first time in two years. He had never played the other tamers and it would allow him to see some fresh meat on the table to pulverize.

"I don't know about me....But Im sure you and the others would do great. I'm not that great at the game...."
Jeri understood the basis of the Digimon card game, but she still wasn't in the same league as the others. In fact, she was pretty sure that if she did enter, she'd be out in the first round. There was a difference between playing the game and the real thing. While she was somewhat sure she could handle real life battle to a point, playing a complex game might be out for her.
"I'd be lucky to make it through round one..."
The girl smiled, still walking towards the direction of the station as she looked at Ryo. It was still somewhat weird having an actual conversation with him. He usually hung close to Rika. Still...it was nice to slow down alittle. Jeri always was in a rush.

Ryo smiled slightly at her as she said she would be out quickly “unless someone was to sit down with you and show you a few tricks” he said and smiled “like how to beat Rika” he said and smiled. Rika had to be his biggest rival almost unbeatable but sometimes all it would take was the right cards and some luck. He paused as he rested his hands inside of his pockets and thought things over “if you want I can sit down with you and show you a few tricks with the cards it can never hurt” he said and smiled. He would see what she had in her deck he was curious. He also knew some would help her in fights if she could deal with the cards better which never hurt anyone in the end really and he hoped he could help her.
Experience spoke volumes when it came down to it as he glanced at the two digimon who had been quiet since they had left the school. He was curious as to why Gatomon was kept in the backpack but didn’t ask her. The walk seemed to be doing him good “if we don’t get mobbed the moment we walk in” he joked softly a small smile coming to his face. Most would have forgotten the face but the digimon were something that were remembered it was hard to not remember the last war and what it had taken afterwards the distraction alone was hard. Shuddering he pulled his jacket closer to his body and stared ahead as he walked “sorry Jeri” he said softly hoping he had not upset her with that one. It could have gone either way really but chances were they would be treated normally by the people that they would be playing against. The cover story had been a movie that had gone no where which suited him just fine in his eyes.
They all did things that most teens would only dream of that was why they played the card game. One using the cards to live out what they had seen on TV. He had always considered himself lucky to have what he had with Digimon, Monodramon had to be his best friend that he had gotten out of things. He rubbed the small digimon’s head as he walked towards the train station. He was just glad to be spending time with her “how late do you usually work?” he asked her softly. Homework with school could drive anyone crazy at times and with a hectic life like the tamers had at times it would be a wonder if they all made it through this with their sanity in tact “just curious sorry about all the questions” he admitted a small blush coming to his face.

"No...its ok....."
Jeri didn't see anything wrong with Ryo asking her these things. After all, each one seemed to be a straight forward and nothing more. They were just inquires about her life or suggestions of what she might want to do. But in truth, she had some interest in the game, but not like she used too. Perhaps that came from having experienced the real thing, but then what did that say about Ryo? Wasn't he just the same as she was? Even still, he was playing Digimon card games right?
As they kept walking, the younger boy seemed to be blushing. It was odd, she didn't take Ryo as the kind of person who got embarrassed. Jeri was starting to wonder just where he was going with this? Asking her how late she worked? Did he have something to ask her?
"Well....If its the weekends, I work in till 11. But during the week, its just in till 8. That way, I can do my homework and go to bed...why?"
Smiling, the crimson haired female looked towards her friend's direction as she awaited his answer.

Ryo listened to her as he took a breath and nodded “just seeing if maybe I could help you with the card games” he said and gave her a smile. He knew that it had to seem weird but it was all that he could come up with at the moment. He hated to admit it but he did like Jeri but more as a friend maybe it was the fact that the two had never really been around each other that much until today as he glanced at the sun as it beat down on them. He could feel her eyes on him and he shifted slightly where he stood as he thought things over his hands on his side. He knew that he wanted to get to spend time with Jeri and get to know her better, the two rarely yet he knew that he liked her she was friendly and almost always had a smile on her face which was hard to find sometimes.
Pausing as he thought things over he knew he was skating on thinking about new things that had come across their way lately as he took a breath and relaxed slowly. Glancing at Jeri he took a breath “hang out some more we never really spent much time together in the past.” he said to her after a few moments. There could not be to much harm in this as they were just friends maybe things would work maybe they would not it was hard to tell.
