Haruko Chiba
Name: Chiba Haruko
Nickname: Haru
Age: 17
Gender: bigender(due to actually being a mosaic, also known as a chimera{google the medical terms})
Ethnicity:English/Japanese
Height: ~4'8(~142.24 Centimeters)
Weight:~95 lbs(~43.091 Kilograms)
Alignment:undecided
Birth Date: 2/26
Birth Place: Osaka, Japan
Relatives:Mother, Father...others...will fill in the blanks later
Personality:
Kind, intelligent, dependable: these are but a few of the words most would use to describe the one known as Chiba Haruko. Somber, isolated, distant: these are words that none would use to describe him. And yet, all six of these words and many many more can be used to describe the 'whole' Haru; the Haru that is composed of all his elements, both known and hidden. To most people, Haru appears to be an average first child from an average family from Japan. However, because of a number of biological 'issues' he has recently become aware of, Haru has become emotionally distant, closing himself off to others and becoming incapable of maintaining most relationships.
Appearance:
Despite his age, Haru appears to only be about the age of 14 or so, and has an androgynous appearance. Both his hair and skin are quite pale, being so white they border on the unnatural. His eyes, by contrast, are slightly almond-shaped and are a bright red. He wears his hair fairly long for a male, kinda short for a female, but the thing is he is neither male nor female, either physically or emotionally. He seems to have a particular fondness for wearing muted colors, or otherwise black and white clothing.
History:
Chiba was born 19, almost 20 years previous to the current events. Though his parents had been expecting twins some time previous, and a single child more recently, they were surprised to find out the unusual nature of their new child. Though he had difficulties fitting in at school, he eventually turned out to be an average enough, if a little over intelligent, child. Unsure as to what to name the child, given his form, they eventually decided on a fairly gender-neutral name: Haruko. Eventually Haruko's personality began to emotionally fall more towards the male, and be began to dress appropriately. Yes, he was the one to dress himself, in fact he began to develop a personal sense of both style and self about the age of 5.
Throughout his next 12 years of life, Haru acted like a slightly effeminate, but overall average male. Though there were problems that he and those around him began to notice about the time he turned 8. His physical growth rate was slow, though his mental and emotional development was beyond the norm. Though this at first created a separation between him and his classmates, there was little reason for it to alienate his friends and long-time classmates. In fact it actually became a sort of running joke among them. He also took advantage(and still does take advantage) of his appearance to get discounted movie tickets. The hardest news, so far, is the news he got from a recent physical examination...
Info:
Though not unusually skilled in most conventional arts, Haru is reasonably skilled at reverse-engineering and at programming AI, particularly combat AI. He also has reasonable skill at putting together electronic devices.
Digivice Appearance: Because Haru isn't a tamer, he lacks a Digivice. Instead he has a glove-like device on his right hand that shares many functions with a D-Arc, such as compass and map, though it lacks the Card Slash function, or a Digivolution function. Instead is has the ability to store his DCU(Digital Combat Unit) inside. However DAC(DCU Armament Container) is only a self-made prototype made from off the shelves parts, and as such is statistcally inferior to a theoretical model using state-of-the-art technology.

Now, let me explain Digital Combat Units, or DCUs. DCUs are reverse engineered programs that roughly duplicate both the structure and many abilities that Digimon have. Among those abilities are the ability to take on both digital and material forms, as well as to evolve over time. However, their ability to evolve takes several times longer than a Digimon, and it is exceedingly rare for them to self-evolve at all. Their more common method of physical advancement is modification by their human master. Another noteworthy difference is that their intelligence is somewhere between an animal and a human. Think Pokemon(the anime at least); their intelligence and degree of freedom is more or less the same as a trainer's Pokemon.
Physically speaking, DCUs have two principal sections, the 'Core' and the 'Shell'. The Shell is their physical body, a combination of advanced programming that creates a physical structure able to move about, not unlike the body of a Digimon. For DCUs, their Shell is almost always artificial in appearance, looking like machinery of some sort. Their Core, meanwhile, is the heart of the DCU. It is not unlike a Digicore in either structure or function. The core acts as more the heart and mind of the DCU. Now, there are two classes of DCU, Humanoid and Bestial, both of which are fairly self explanatory. However, a DCU cannot be modified outside of whichever class they start in. There are also a number of Alphabetic ranks that are used as an identifier of the unit's strength, these are D, C, B, A, and S.
they equate to digimon ranks as follows:
D:Child
C:Adult
B:Perfect
A:Ultimate
S:Super Ultimate
These ranks represent the power output of the DCU, and are based on the user's current number of DP:
D:0
C:100
B:300
A:750
S:1000
Also, when they reach 150, 350, 650, 850, and 1050 DP, they gain a new 'Mode Change' These mode changes don't need to be accepted with the profile, but the profile will need to be re-submitted whenever a new mode change is obtained. These mode changes rarely result in a direct increase in power, but more often are more accurately a swapping out of parts and equipment to give advantage in a particular situation.
When compared to Digimon, DCUs have the obvious advantage of a stable power base; they don't get stronger or weaker dependent on the user or their cards. However, they also have weaknesses, such as their inability to use Card Slash as of now, and they can't naturally regenerate like Digimon can; instead they must be repaired. And currently, the only place where they can be repaired is the place where they were made, Haru's home.
